Unique& Spectacular FRENCH Antique Tulipwood& Bronze Mounts“Ceil de Lit” 1850-60’s( Bed Crown OUTSIDE diameter from the tips of the fleur de lis Size: 42” wide x 27 ½” deep x 9 ¾” high INSIDE diameter at the base Size: 32” wide x 20 ½” deep x 9 ¾” high This is a spectacular oval meant to hang from the ceiling above the bed. It was purchased in France by my wife’s grandfather in Paris prior to WWII for his new born daughter’s bedroom. His daughter died as Hitler’s armies were about to take Paris. Following WWII it was shipped to the United States and has remained in storage. This piece was meant to have“a la polonaise” drapery treatment. Which needs a tall ceiling to be successfully done. Condition: This unique piece is structurally sound. However it needs conservation. Three of the fleur de lis are missing a side“leaf” ... moretwo came with the piece and simply need to be reglued as part of the conservation. The last one is truly missing and the break looks old. All of the veneers are intact, however there has been some damage to the tips of the fleur de lis. This porcelain box has very detailed molded flowers on the top. The box is 4 7/8 inches in diameter and 3 ¼ inches high. It has flowers painted on the inside. The outside of the box has bronze mounts with a dark patina. The bottom of the box is stamped Germany. We believe this dates to the late 19 th or early 20 th century. The gilded grotesque mounted base and rustic bamboo form top, are probably clues to the maker as well. Mid 19th C French Ruby Red Palais Royal Perfume Casket With Bronze Ormolu Mounts
You are bidding on an exquisite Palais Royal French ruby red perfume box or casket with the original square form perfume bottles. The casket has beautiful gilt bronze ormolu mounts& the perfume bottles have ground glass stoppers as well as gilt bronze lidded caps. The bottles sit in a gilt twisted wire frame basket which keeps the bottles suspended in the casket. The box appears to be complete with its original key& swivel handles. The square form casket is made of a very heavy ruby glass& the perfume bottles look to be hand blown with ground pontil bases. The quality& thickness of the glass indicates that this might be a Baccarat casket& we believe it dates to the mid 1800's. The casket is not marked in any way but early Baccarat was only marked with a paper label& the company relied on the quality of their products ... moreto speak for itself& thus did not need any identifying marks. The casket measures about 4 1/2" x 2 7/8" stands about 4 5/8" tall. The condition is very good. There are some small air bubble inclusions in the glass& a small imperfection on the front of the lid where one of these bubbles has been ground through. The gold gilding has worn through on the more exposed parts of the ormolu but the internal gilding is in very fine condition. The glass stopper of one of the perfume bottles is stuck with residue from whatever perfume was left in the bottle. Although the key does turn, the internal iron mechanism of the lock no longer secures the lid. There are also some minor surface scratches to the casket with the worst ones on the base. Pierre Emmanuel Guerin was a french immigrant who came to New York City and started his foundry in 1857 and it made the finest quality hardware for the finest furniture makers of the 19th century. This table could be possibly made by Herter Brothers or Pottier& Stymus. The table is in excellent condition. The inlaid marquetry work is exceptional and has little mother of pearl circles inlaid in various spots, the bronze mounts are very crisp and detailed with handmade craftsmanship, the patina on this table is great. The only mark is the impressed made in france in the bronze/brass base. CONDITION REPORT: The nut and threaded post are rusted. Some minor gold loss or edge of lid. A rare Kidney shaped Louis XV French ladies desk with elevated writing surface. Wonderful rosewood and marquetry top. Fabulous inlay of quill pens, paper scroll, and ink sanders. This is truly a spectacular find! We have never had a finer or daintier desk to offer. It does have some normal wear, tear, and damage. I believe it to be around 1870. The drawer bottom and sides are hand planed and hand dove tailed. The measurements of this little gem are 27.5' wide 17' deep and 30.25' tall. We are selling it as we found it in the attic of a coastal Maine home. More pictures upon request for serious inquiries. We have looked for a signature but have not found one, but i believe this was definitely made by an important cabinet maker.

THIS IS THE CADDILAC OF THE JUNGENS BRACKET CLOCKS.FOUND IN AN ATTIC.HAD BEEN SITTING THERE FOR 60 YEAR.THE FINISH WAS BAD AND THE BRONZE ACCOUTREMENTS WERE ALMOST BLACK.I HAD IT PROFESSIONALLY RESTORED TO LOOK LIKE IT DID WHEN ORIGINALLY BOUGHT.ITS BEEN FRENCH POLISHED AND REGILTED.THE WORKS WERE CLEANED AND NOW RUNS PERFECTLY.IT HAS WESTMINISTER CHIMES.2 OF THE CHIMES ARE A LITTLE DULL BUT IT MERELY NEEDS 2 SMALL PIECES OF LEATHER THAT SCREWS RIGHT IN AND WILL SOUND FANTASTIC-AS IT ALREADY DOES.THIS IS A LARGE CLOCK MEASURING 25" TALL.14 1/2" WIDE AND 9 1/2" DEEP.ON THE WORKS IT SAYS JUNGHANS-WURTTENBURG,GERMANY.THE BRONZE MOUNTS ARE OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY VERY CRISP-THIS IS A REAL LOOKER.
