Condition: Wood paneling on back with full boards elsewhere. P ainted black underneath in the interior foot& leg area. Hinges are original. Screws are not. Has lots of patina with cracks and markings abound and opening were original lock once lay. Dimensions: 50" Wide by 42" Tall Rear/36" tall in front by 26" deep. Has a 48" X18" canted/ hinged desk top which opens to a 48" X 25" X 5+" drawer. Has two lower shelving units which are 48" X 8 upper and 48" X 17" lower unit. Weight: Approximately 70 lbs. Hello.I have a antique Amish Pennsylvania Dutch children's school desk up for your consideration today and being modeled by my beautiful niece Haley.It was manufactured in Lancaster.PA. and purchased by a friend while shopping in Lancaster for antiques around 25 years ago.It is a very well built desk made from local hard woods incorporating I believe mortise and tenon pegged joinery for the legs, and tung and grove on the table top and seat helping to insure and continue its longevity.Those craftsmen gave you a lot back in the day.I have this chair listed as being built around the 1930 to 1940 but it may very well be much older! Nice looking original primitive antique desk topper. Unknown origin, maker, age. As you see it is stenciled 1766 in the same color dark stain as the rest of the piece. Nice size at 30" wide, 9 1/2" tall, and 6" deep. The wood construction is all 1/4" except for the supports. I added extra pictures to show the condition, surface wear, scratching, marks, ect. It is a solid piece in overall good useable condition, no wood cracking, breaks or chips, just the minor condition issues from age and use. The desk dates to the early 1820’s and retains most of the red wash paint over cherry wood. She has a beautiful pierced scalloped bottom apron standing on Country Sheraton legs below 3 drawers. The large top drops down to reveal a period custom interior that is all original to the piece as this piece has been in storage for the past 40 years or so. At one point the leather straps supported the lid but as you can see by the photos. Both of those are dried up and can no longer be used but can easily be replaced. She has the original 2 large backboards and I guarantee that this is the original red wash finish. Antique Slant Desk 1880 Primitive but Original Great piece very nice looking. Goes with primitive.Country, federal and early Armerican Décor. Nice slant desk for office-bedroom-foyer. Nice for young adult-child. Measures 25.5 by 25 and 32 inches high. Very old piece that has the wear from generation to generation. Overall sturdy and excellent original. Besides the age in the wood you can see some of the old original nails that were used during the 1800's. This was a desk that you would see furnished in a country farm house or rural area not an aristocratic rich family in the city so the desk would be handed down from generation to generation home to home so they would repair it as needed. You will see some old repair on the front of the desk by the top shown in photo of the old nails. Nails throughout are very old of the 1880 period ... morebut the hinges were replaced later as shown. Primitive Original Antique Slant Top Shopkeeper's Desk Circa 1880-1900 Very old piece that shows the appropriate wear one would expect from a shopkeeper's desk. This piece was used both in an early drugstore and real estate office in Quogue. New York. It never had a base as it was always used on a counter. For an old piece, it is very sturdy and in very good condition. It has the original hinges and lock; there is no key. Desk measures about 30 inches wide. 28 inches from front to back, height of desk in back 10 inches, height at front is 7 inches. Some pictures show the desk on a base. Base is an optional purchase. We found the base years ago and sat the desk on it as it was the perfect size. If you are interested in the base. We would sell that for an additional $25.

Antique Child's Desk c. 1800-1899 We are selling our used. Very nice antique child's desk that has been in our family for more than three generations. It belonged to a relative who was born in 1856. We were told that he used this desk as a child. We believe the desk to be pine. Could be a combination of woods. Please refer to the desk's condition in the pictures. There is a crack across the top that appears to go through the lid. So there may have been some repair, but it is a solid lid.There are scratches, dings and some small putty type spots. Also some writing on the underside of the desk lid. The desk is very sturdy. The top is hinged. One of the pictures shows raw pine circles on the underside of the desk. This is a very early re purposed desk. It is made of walnut. The top of the desk was originally a very old cabinet door as it has hinge markings on the underside. It is well made with wooden pegs. It was probably used by a schoolmaster or possibly a depomaster as it has the cubby organizers inside which makes this piece more desirable. It is made of pine and has a very old green paint. It looks like it had a lock at one time, so it possibly could have been used in a general store as well? The hinges and nails are original, I can't see where anyone has tried to repair this piece. There are a few cracks in the wood. It measures 31" wide by 27" long by 9 1/2" tall. 100 yr. Old Painted Desk We have several old antique items to sell at my folks old house that I thought would best be liquidated here on Ebay. This oak secretary or writing chest is absolutely wonderful and is so much more attractive in person than the pictures. Every authentic antique painted piece of furniture of this nature is original unique and of its own beauty and this one is no exception. Green color is rich and deeper green in person than with camera flash. The green is likely an old oil based enamel or lead paint. The top surface is glared in a couple pictures appearing a different color but it is the same green color as the rest of the cabinet. The paint is not flaking or pealing but is still very strong adhering all over. Loads of character and charm. The whole piece is solid as a brick and not rickety or wobbly. I don't see ... moreany repairs or cracks etc. Typical wear that would be indigenous to this period and stature. I took a close up of damage on interior of the door around the drop hinge arm. Drawers function well and door closes nicely. I particularly like the shaker style going narrower to the floor as seen in the side profile. The detail in curvature of the drawer fronts is unique as well. There has been no back on the cabinet for many years. I have seen hundreds of secretaries in my days but have never seen this particular style before. This little cabinet is simply divine and could be used in so many rooms of a home to suite your taste.
