I am unsure of the exact age of the desk. It is most likely a 1970's reproduction of an 18th Century Georgian Design. It has beautifully carved ball and claw feet, and chunky cabiole legs that are also carved at the knees. This desk has five (5) substantial drawers with the original brass bail pull handles, and five (5) faux drawer fronts on the back side also with brass bail pull handles. The drawers have dove tail joints. The desk was in front of a window for years, and therefore the finish on the back side is a bit faded.

Antique Partner's Desk ca 1850 - Gorgeous mahogany!
This is a beautiful antique French partner's desk. Ca 1850. It is mahoghany and has a new leather top. The desk has 18 drawers, 2 slides and the leather top. The dimensions are: 31" high, 47" deep and 63" wide. The desk is in very good condition but understandly has some signs of wear. I think it would make an excellent piece in a professional office or even a home office. We are selling it as we are moving and consolidating the contents of two homes. Gorgeous Antique Inlaid Writing Lap Desk
This is a fantastic old wooden lap desk with inlaid design on the top and the front. The lap desk measures 11 5/8" long x 8 3/8" wide x 5 1/8" high. The box is in antique used condition. The inlay is in very good shape. The box is done with veneer over wood. It looks like the little shield on the top and the piece around the key are done with gilding. It is worn as shown on the photos. The veneer is cracking a bit on the top front left corner and a bit on the side in the same area. There is a piece of veneer missing(about 1" long x 1/4" wide) Otherwise there are a few stress cracks in the veneer on the top. Generally the outside of the box is in good condition. On the inside of the box. There was probably velvet covering the wooden desk sections. The pieces are now loose as you can see in the photos because the fabric ... morewas once attaching the wooden pieces to the box. There is still one ink bottle left in the set, the other is missing. ANTIQUE WALNUT DESK, absolutely gorgeous! PICK UP ONLY
This is a beautiful antique walnut desk. Originally from Columbia ca.1870. It's in mint condition. Except some wear and tear in the patina right where you sit and the arms rub it. However.that can be restored very easily. It has 1 drawer and beautiful detail. A nice wood"nut" right on top and old wooden nails where the legs are attached to the top. Bought it originally for $1950(see photo of original label) and even though it would be worth more today. It doesn't fit the style of our place anymore and I'm willing to sell it for much less in order to replace it with what fits our style now. Gorgeous Antique Cabriole Leg Victorian French Writing Desk Mahogany Eagletalon
FANTASTIC ESTATE FIND! This gorgeous French writing desk was sitting in a backroom with painting supplies on it.unbelievable! Although this piece is not perfect. The flaws in the top only add character and experience to the rich feel of this solid mahogany, handcrafted beauty. The wonderful handcarved cabriole legs with such an ornate fineal structure under the desktop are outstanding and capped with very ornate bronze eagle talons gripping it's ball feet present this piece of history with style, grace and strength. No one at the sale knew much about this table/desk. Except that it had been in the family for generations. The joinery help in dating this piece to prior to the industrial age with it's hand carved ducktails in the drawer and the ornate eagle talon/claw and ball feet tend to point towards an upper east coast, i.e. New ... moreYork, Rhode Island, Maryland, origin probably sometime between 1800 and 1850. The only maker's or craftsman mark are the numbers 1111 carved into the bottom of the desk and 1114 carved into the bottom of the drawer. A previous owner may have attempted or started a refinish job on this piece, but did not do much other than some spot touchup. It is pretty amazing the way it sits, but with a little know-how and the right products on the desk surface(the legs and fineal are darn near perfect) this piece would be simply stunning. I have set a lower starting price in order to compensate for finishing some flaws(but don't remove the character of age, please) and to help with shipping costs. 41"w x 26"d x29"h 1 drawer. Shipping will be at buyer's expense. I will professionally pack this piece and take every precaution to ensure safe delivery. However, the legs are not removable, so even economy freight will carry considerable cost and will vary by delivery location. But I have to say.it is absolutely worth every penny.
