It was likely made in the early 1900's. Made of oak. And has a spooncarved front. There are no identifying markings. It is in excellent shape and it has the original finish. Brass fittings show a bit of tarnish but should clean up easily with a little TLC. Three of the posts on the brass rail at the top are loose but can be easily secured with a little bit of attention. One of the rail ends is stripped so that will need to be secured as well. Otherwise this piece is ready for your home. I would be happy to provide more detailed photos if requested. I hate to part with such a beautiful and unique item but we no longer have the room and it just doesn't fit our decor. The dimensions are 40 1/2” tall its tallest point. 33 1/2“ wide at its widest point at the base, and 19” deep when closed,and 34“ deep when opened. Local pickup only.

This fantastic Burl Walnut Victorian Slant Front Secretary Desk with Bookcase Top breaks down into two pieces for transport(bookcase top and bottom base with desk) is full of character, has many lovely design details and a spectacular warm finish. The bookcase top is graced with a beautiful crown moulding accented with lovely burl-clad scalloped moulding. Three raised horizontal burl panels are found beneath the crown moulding and additional vertical burl accents are found on the sides of the glass doors which are adorned with picture frame moulding.
