It has burl walnut trim on the fronts with an ogee bevel edge around the routed top. It has a black felt interior on the writing surface that is nice. The finish on the sides is amazing. It has panel sides, rope twisted molding, detail cast brass hardware, escutcheons are intact. There are no keys or locks. The desk is 48 inches wide, 27 inches deep and 30 inches tall. Solid walnut with incised carving and burl panels. The satiny finish is in excellent condition with especially warm antique patina. Brass pulls are original on deep drawers with"pin and cove" dovetails, characteristic of the period. Bottom right and left are file drawers. Leather with 24k gold tooling is new on the writing surface and both pull out shelves. Inside are tiny cubicles for papers and pen trays. There are losses to the bottom lip of the lift lid. ANTIQUE DESK WITH DRAWERS AND STORAGE CIRCA 1880-CARVED WALNUT
Very unusual carved desk with drawers and storage. The wood appears to be dark stained Walnut. The desk is 25 inches wide. 11 1/2 inches deep and 12 1/2 inches tall. The piece was made in the late 1800's and would be ideal for a computer table or as an office cabinet to store important data. There are three 7 inch wide drawers on the left side with a full 22 inch wide top drawer. On the right side is a 7 x 7 door to a storage area. Under this is another 7 inch wide drawer. The center opening is partitioned to take stationary and accessories. Really nice, usable old piece. It is obvious the desk has been used a lot through the years. The top shows quite a bit of staining from ink. Etc. Structurally the piece is strong and secure. On the door panel on right side there is a chipping around the knob. Antique horn desk set. Circa1880's in mint condition, as seen in photos. It measures 6 inches in height and approximately 7.5 inches across the length of the middle horn. I am not sure what type of metal the filigree is on the top part of the three holders, but as seen in the photos, it is truly exquisite in detail. A very fine and unusual antique. Circa 1880, Renaissance Revival Davenport lift top desk. The solid walnut case has burl walnut veneers in recessed and raised panels. There are four drawers on the left side with brass ring handles. There are matching faux drawer fronts on the right side that are decoration only. The top brown leather writing surface on lid opens to a pine and maple compartment, the cubbyhole with two burl fronted drawers. The bottom front doors have burl veneer panels. The right door opens to a compartment with stationary maple shelves. The door reverse has a birdeye maple veneer panel. The left door is faux and does not open. There is a nice top spindled walnut gallery, and carved walnut front scroll feet and drop finials. The desk measures 40" tall by 31" wide by 26" deep, the leather writing surface 26-3/4" ... morewide by 14-1/4" deep. From bottom of desk overhang to floor is 25-1/2" tall. Excellent condition: original finish, pine board under writing surface has cracked horizontally and crack filled with wood putty. Missing a ring pull from right side. This beautiful piece of American history is constructed from solid American oak that has aged beautifully. The hand tooling on the drop front and cabinet panels is meticulous and detailed. There are 2 small side drawers featuring period brass handles and 1 wide center drawer to the front that is secured with a key latch. The pull-out rails are solid and in perfect condition. Generally antiques of this period will possess subtle elements of wear. Which invariably add to the charm of the piece. The short, sturdy feet show some age appropriate wear. This Auction is for an Antique 19th Century Approximately 1870's Victorian Walnut Kneehole Writing Table Desk- Nice Size Perfect For A Unique Functional Computer Desk. It measures 31 1/4" tall by 43" wide by 28" deep- it has five drawers with what appears to be its original turned wood handles- it has hand dovetailed drawers and is square nailed- the finish is either original or an old refinish- the leather top I believe is an old replacement- this is a chunky solid very well made piece of furniture- it has some minor use wear on the finish. Two of the drawer locks are missing, and the back corner brace came loose and needs to be reglued- other than those flaws it is in very good condition.

Selling a very nice SMALL SCALE c 1880 American made antique oak roll top desk in the original finish. The desk has paneled sides and is extremely well made. The drawers are all dovetailed which is the finest drawer construction. This handy roll top/ tambour desk is the smaller version of the huge roll top desks you see in old offices and Victorian libraries. This nice example is without the drawers on the left side which makes it more practical for smaller spaces; it measures 34 inches wide by 43 inches high by 25 3/4 inches deep. Some people call this a"lady's roll top" because of the diminutive size. There are plenty of cubbies for storing all your love letters. Bills, death threats or whatever. The desk boasts solid golden oak fielded panels throughout and features the original oak cup handles to the pedestal. There is an oak modesty board. With two pullout-writing slides above 4 drawers in each pedestal. The interior has 13 internal drawers and 12 internal compartments and with brass finger hooks and knobs. The desk features a secret locking mechanism when the roll-top is closed which locks all the drawers except the central drawer. The brass tambour lock and key are in working order. The desk sits on its original castors. The internal drawers are constructed of sycamore. The oak has an excellent tight grain with a golden wax finish. This American made furniture was restored some years ago. The gleaming hand rubbed finish is in excellent condition, there is a shrinkage separation from age, see photos.
