And 40.5" long. There is some tarnishing of the tacks, and discoloration of the leather strip around a few tacks on the base only. We assume it was stored standing up on the base. It definitely has some slight mildew on the lower two drawers and the interior has a musty odor. From our research. It looks as though all the small parts and pieces are there. There is some slight pitting on the top metal hanging hardware. Inside three of the drawers are somebody's initials as seen in photos. Wonderful antique wardrobe trunk found at an auction. The trunk has the manufacters name plate P Becker& Co. Makers Chicago. I could not find much history on this just that around 1930 they went from making trunks and suitecases to table tennis. Anyway this trunk is very heavy. It is in pretty good condition. It does need some cleaning up which was going to be my project but I need to find my garage before winter. The trunk is 43" tall and 21x24" on top. It opens sideways. Up for auction is this very nice Vintage Steamer Trunk it is in good condition considering it's age. It does not have any name on it that I can see. It has on the leather handle some indentions of words but all I can make out is R-407. The lock has Everlasting lock D63 but the lock is broke which could be replaced. I guess it wasn't everlasting. Vintage or Antique Hartmann Tourobe Wardrobe Travel Steamer Trunk Suitcase
This is an antique or vintage Hartmann Tourobe made in Racine WI travel wardrobe trunk. Trunk measures about 35" x 20" x 12" This has been used. There are surface scratch/rub marks on the outside of the trunk, the leather handle is broken off, the closures work but there is not a key to lock them. Trunk is has markings on the end that say Lt. Comdr. Johnstone MCVS U.S.N.R. on the end and a sticker that says Gibalterized. The Hartmann Tourobe Racine Wi sticker is intact. There are travel stickers attached to the outside and a tag that says Railway Express, Inc. War Won't Wait, if that helps to date it. This outside is black with metal, and not sure what the main material is, maybe a pressed wood. The inside is blue with 3 compartments on the fold down side, 2 of the compartments have cloth ties, the top cloth part folds ... moreover and snaps at the end, snap pieces are intact. The other side has 2 wood hangers and the metal pieces that hold the hangers fold in to hold the hangers and can be folded out when the trunk is opened. There are some water marks on the cloth cover of the fold out part and a musty smell to the inside of the trunk. The red stripes on the outside of the trunk do have rub marks.

This old trunk is a beautiful example of the Louis Vuitton monogram pattern trunks made since 1896 in Paris. A real classic! This is a wardrobe style trunk that was designed to hold hanging clothes. When stood upright and opened in the center this would be like a personal closet and the clothes rod pulls out to allow easy access to the hanging clothes. This trunk has the original marked wood hangers. The exterior LV monogrammed covering is in excellent condition with only minimal signs of wear.Even the large leather handle is in good condition. This was a high-grade trunk with all brass hardware. Including many brass rivets all marked with the Louis Vuitton name. The demensions of the trunk are 36 x 22 x 12.

The vintage handles are all in tact. center lock has been scratched, some one has used a tool to get open. Length 41 standing up. 22 inches long 14 inches closed botton to top. 1920's OSHKOSH STEAMER WARDROBE TRAVEL TRUNK CHEST Ironing Board PIN CUSHION
Stands about 42 tall x 26 x 23 inches. It has a last patent date of 1923. It has six drawers. One drawer has an iron holder insert and there is also an original large pin cushion that came with this trunk. Each drawer is unique with various partitions and tie downs. There are telescoping rods for the many various original hangers. There is also a removable latching box. Pretty clean inside with very light wear. The top leather handle is broke. Some minor scuffs, scratches, paint drops present. No holes or big dents. The key lock looks as if it was pried open, but it still latches the trunk shut when rotated. This auction is for a beautiful antique wardrobe steamer trunk made by the National Vulcanized Fibre Company. The construction of these trunks bearing the indian-head label date back to the late 1800s into the early 1900s. This particular piece has been stored in my moms attic since she and my dad purchased their house in 1965 from an old couple who had lived in the home since i was built in 1924. I'm estimating the age of this trunk to be anywhere between 90 and 100 years old. As seen in the pictures the trunk had been only slightly used and does not show any signs of travel use. It shows signs of oxidation on the metal parts and slightly on the vulcanized material. The leather handle has not worn out and is still in good condition bearing the number 524-22. This is an antique ca1930s wardrobe trunk by NeverBreak. It has definitely seen some mileage-there are stickers from Singapore. Gloucester Hotel in Hong Kong, Japan.the traveler's name was Paul Thornton(visible on one of the stickers) It closes well, everything works. It's old though, so it's a little"off" All the brass fixtures are intact except tarnished. And the inside is clean. The leather handle is still there. It is missing the lock and key. It has sat in a bedroom as a decoration for many years. It is 40" long. 18" deep, and very heavy! Hard to see it go. But we're moving and there's no room!

For Sale is a Wonderful Vintage Wardrobe Trunk from the Early 1900's. It is all original. There are 3 drawers on the right hand side to hold folded clothes. The left side is for hanging clothes. Included are 4 original wood hangers. 2 can hold pants plus a top/jacket/shirt/blouse/etc. and 2 are just for tops/shirts/dresses etc. There is also an adjustable bar that helps hold in the hanging clothes. Everything is original from the floral interior to the hardware and two leather handles. There is no key but keys are still available and can be purchased on the web. The lock is an Excelsior brand which dates the trunk to the early 1900's. Stamped on the lock is"USA. Excelsior Stanford, Conn#5987. The lock was loosened from one side of the trunk to allow it to be opened by a previous owner. It is, however, all there. The latches work ... moreand hold the trunk closed. One is a little hard to open. I sometimes use a screw driver to pop it open. This trunk stands 36 1/2 inches tall. Is 22 inches deep and 14 inches wide. The exterior is a forest green color with black trim on the corners and white pin stripes. The floral interior is green and peach colored. It does show signs of use. There is some staining on the drawers, and the hardware, probably brass plated, has age discoloration and/or oxidation. Kind of gives it character. There are many uses for trunks like this from being a guest room dresser to a coffee table. It could be refurbished or enjoyed as it is. The pictures show what you are bidding on. Rare Hartmann Vintage Stateroom Antique Travel Steamer Trunk Wardrobe Chest
Characteristics of Hartmann We are offering for sale an extremely RARE& UNIQUE fine stateroom steamer trunk. Came from an older Central Pennsylvania estate. Trunk has previous owners initials H L B. Exact age and origin unknown but believe to be from the early 1900s. 1877: Hartmann Inc. was founded in Milwaukee. Wisconsin by Bavarian Trunk maker, Joseph S. Hartmann. 1905: Mr. Hartmann had a vision to build"luggage so fine it will stand as a symbol of excellence. Because of his vision. The company grew rapidly and moved to larger facilities in Racine, Wisconsin. This trunk has early Hartmann trademark cloverleaf hardware. Pull out hanger is patented March 1905. This may be the only one is existence. VERY RARE Quality constructed. Trunk interior is fitted with American golden oak and cast brass ornate pulls with drop front hat box ... morearea that can be used as a desk. Exterior is fitted with rose and silver colored cloverleaf hardware(corners are cast iron and the rest of the hardware is nickel plated brass? which I believe the cloverleaf hardware was characteristic of early Hartmann. Canvas appears to have been a deep mahogany that has darkened over the years from the smoke of coal fired trains and ocean liners. Nice shaped edging of wild boar hide(pig skin) and fine brass tacking. The skin from a boar was tougher and thicker than other animals. Pull out hanger is patented March 1905. The latch is marked Everwear TTC3 and Corbin made in USA. Stately Travel Chest Wardrobe Trunk These early trunks are very rare and hard to find and are as good as. Hartmann Tourobe Suitcase/Trunk/Wardrobe All original and in great condition. This is a suitcase from the early to mid 1900s. Comes with the original hangers and is in great condition. It has normal wear(scuffs. Edge protectors have scratches, and someone used a marker to cross something out on the bottom of one side) All the hardware is original and functioning. The Hartmann badge is still on and it even has the little patent label still attached. There is a small clear plastic piece with the Hartmann name on it and a piece of paper slipped in it with letters and numbers on. Not sure what it is but it is there and the owners initials are visible by the handle Inside is in excellent condition with no rips or tears in the fabric and all snaps still there. There is one small divider that is coming away(see photos) The exterior has some scuffs ... moreand scratches but no gouges or punctures to the shell. This is an antique pre war Oshkosh Steamer"The Chief" wardrobe Trunk with 2 fold out shelves. A case and its original key. It also has a plastic Rite-On chart sleeve made by Aljon Company. I am told that it was owned by Diane Strawbridge Wister of Bryn Mawr PA of the Cambell's soup family. When closed it is approximately 42" tall, 22 1/4" wide and 25" deep. It is in good condition considering its age, but the back has some water damage and there is some rust, the cover on one of the fold out shelves is not attached, but it does close and the shelf wood has some small chips at the back. The right half has 4 drawers on the inside, and the left half when opened has a hanging rack for clothes. Top also is cushioned and pivots up and out the way. Now offering, Circa 1920s Antique Belber Traveling Goods wardrobe steamer trunk/dresser. It still has the original hangers. All the drawers and original pulls, a special shoebox insert in the bottom drawer(which has the only damage to report which is detailed in our last picture) the original laundry/garment drawstring bag(almost impossible to find these days) it also has two drawer dividers in the very top drawer, the original Belber instruction manual, also included is the lock down metal mechanism for the left side of the chest, but no key. It is clearly marked Belber and the outside is in very good condition. It does have some dings and scratches that are consistent with its"worldly travels" There is a metal plaque on it that states patent dates from Feb.13, 1907- Aug. 21, 1928. The leather carrying handle is intact and not ... morebroken. The original inspector tag still hangs from one pull. Manufactured by the Wheary-Burge Trunk Co. This original antique Wheary Wardrobe Trunk was owned by Mr. Fred Beecon, who traveled the SFO to Hong Kong route aboard the SS Shinyo Maru between 1911 and 1926. The Shinyo Maru was part of the Toyo Kisen Kaisha fleet and last sailed in 1931 before it was scrapped in 1936. From what I've been able to find in my research is that Mr. Beecon often traveled to Kobe, Japan on this ship and stayed at the Oriental Hotel there. This trunk was advertised as having"more strength and durability built into it than was thought possible" and was built to endure long arduous journeys. Called the world's finest wardrobe, it has rigid construction of the corners and features a special cushion top to hold the hangers absolutely in place without putting pressure on the clothes. Each original drawer pull bears a"W" for Wheary. Fabulous coffee table size! Perfect for storage or vintage room decor! The wardrobe itself has not been restored in any way and does show signs of it's age. Mostly on the outside. The interior fabric is intact and considering it's age, is in great shape. All drawers are in working order as well as drawer retainer mechanism. All drawer pulls, hinges, framing are solid and appear to be original and working order. The main lock needs a little work- it is a Corbin lock#WBA123. I don't have the key. But you can probably locate one online. Vintage Schmidt Trunk Oshkosh Steamer Wardrobe Trunk Chest Dayton Ohio WILL SHIP
This is a very nice and all original vertical wardrobe steamer trunk that has a label on it for Cappel Luggage Stores Dayton and Cincinnati. My research shows that Adam Cappel had an umbrella factory in Dayton Ohio and was in the luggage business. At this point I'm unclear whether he made luggage at the factory or simply sold it in the retail stores. It does have many of the characteristics of the Schmidt manufacturers in Oshkosh. Either way. This is a very nice piece in great condition as you can see from the photos. It measures approx 32" x 20" x 9" And in theory it should be able to be shipped easy enough, although local pick up is easiest for all. Antique American Hartmann Steamer Trunk - Rare Travel Wardrobe Chest AWESOME!
A rare and important Hartmann American steamer wardrobe trunk in excellent overall condition for an antique nearly 100 years old. I have not been able to find the key yet but the trunk is unlocked. It is 42 inches high. 22 inches wide, and 29 inches deep. I will give it a dusting and a light cleaning and it will be ready to enjoy for another 100 years. Due to the size of this antique trunk I would prefer that it be picked up. I will also personally deliver within about 100 miles if the buyer desires for the cost of gas. Antique 1910 Excelsior Storage Wardrobe Steamer Trunk (42" X 23") Yellow Brass
Early Vintage Travelling Storage Wardrobe Steamer Trunk dates back to about 1910. 42" tall X 23" wide and deep. Yellow in color with a nice patina. All edges protected by brass plating. There are 6 functioning ball type wheels on the bottom which allows the user to roll the trunk while flat. And an additional 2 functioning wheels allow the user to roll the trunk while standing on end and towing with the leather handle(picture shown) All metal edges do have some wear but this gives the trunk a great look. The locking hardware is functioning. And is stamped EXCELSIOR#4230 Made in Stamford, Conn USA. Excelsior began making this lock in 1910. The locking mechanism is controlled by the exterior latch which in turn stabilizes the drawers for travel(shown in picture) There is 1 key from the Independent Lock Co#1076 Made in Fitchburg. Mass ... moreUSA(valued at $18.95 on Ebay) The interior fabric is a copper monochromatic damask which is in good shape considering the age(picture shown) Once settled at their destination. The traveller may lift the padded top portion of the trunk up using the attached hinges to reveal and unlock the hanging garments(see main picture) There are 5 drawers which feature the same copper damask on their fronts. And brown lining within(picture shown) The top drawer is missing the lock, the bottom drawer is missing the handle, and both drawers do have a little water damage. There are 4 original hangers(1 shirt. 1 pant, and 2 coat) These hangers rest upon a chrome bar which extends outward 18" to allow the traveller to peruse their garments and avoid wrinkling. The hanging garments are protected from dust during travel by a copper damask curtain that snaps closed at the bottom. Approximated weight is 85 lbs. This trunk would make a fabulous decorator's piece in your home as a side table or coffee table. Convert into a bar. Or use for stylish storage, or travel in style, this steamer trunk is fantastic! This trunk is fully intact with all four inside drawers. A shoe compartment, sliding wardrobe with hangers, ironing board, pin cushion, original manual and set of keys. Trunk does NOT have an overwhelming musty smell. But it does have a slight due to age. The fabric will need to be cleaned and is in decent condition. The fabric has a unique floral pattern not typically found on these type of trunks. The outside is solid with normal scratches from use. Antique Louis Vuitton Wardrobe Trunk / Hat Case - No Reserve c.1920s - 1930s
This is an authentic Louis Vuitton wardrobe trunk Hat Case. It is a family heirloom. 1920s-1930s, The trunk is wood with brown and gold LV monogram canvas and leather. The trunk is sold as-is, in used original condition with no later cleaning or restoration. The upright exterior measurements are 19.5" tall, 19.5” wide, and 9.5” deep. The exterior of the trunk has some marks and wear associated with its travel usage. Inside label with serial number reads: 796908. The brass is unpolished and the lock is intact, no key. The text on the front of the trunk reads M.H. as this belonged to Maud Hill. There are Original vintage travel decals from France, and a tag attached with some information about Schiaparelli hats ect. See pictures for details. Large Wardrobe Trunk circa 1911 Full Size Antique Vintage Chest Perfect like LV
A large wardrobe trunk made by Henry Likly of Rochester. N.Y. established 1844. Extremely solid. And equipped with casters and great oak slats. It is signed with a brass plaque outside and a paper label inside. It is ink stamped Patented December 12. 1911. This is complete. Fully functional, and in excellent vintage condition. It comes with the original key. This rare American trunk was beautifully made in the same style of the famous expensive ones. It measures 46" x 23" x 25" The same or better quality as the French examples. I recommend Uship or Plycon for shipping from postal code 13066. Weight about 125 lbs.
