Hi up for auction I have an antique Hartmann Gibralterized travel steamer trunk. These trunks were designed to travel on ships or rail systems. This trunk dates from the 1920's to 1930's. It is very heavy and large. Measures: 20 x22 x 40 5/8. And has a weight of 95 pounds. The trunk has some nice labels on it. ANTIQUE 1920'S LANE SMALL SIZE CEDAR CHEST WITH BRASS PLATED STRAPS
Offering this very attractive antique Lane small profile Cedar Chest style#336 with a manufacturing date of July 26. 1927. This petite beauty is just 36 inches wide, 17 1/2 inches deep and just 14 1/2 inches tall. It could have been or could be slightly taller if the caster feet were replaced. It has two copper or brass plated gate post looking straps which is a nice matching add to the fine petina of the cedar wood. There are some rough marks and finish misses, heavy on left front edge and some other visible scratch markings in other areas of the lid. See Photos. Inside nice and clean with original Lane labelling and informations sheet. Serial and model marking on bottom. Selling as pictured and described.

And there is no insert/tray There is no key for the lock. Lock information: YALE& TOWNE Mfg. Co, Stamford, Conn, USA# B54- lock is circa 1890's to 1920's- I am not sure of the material of the trunk. It appears to be a wood/fiber type material with all corners& trim being brass or metal. This trunk needs some major TLC, but could be beautiful once restored; the starting price reflects this. Completely refinished antique flat top tin covered pine steamer trunk with key. This trunk was made to fit under the seats on a steam train(hint steamer trunk) I installed new double ply stitched leather handles. very strong) made by local amish here in central PA. Also the leather straps and buckles are new and fully functional. The exterior was cleaned. Brushed& sealed for protection as well as conservation, I leave the cracks& dents to preserve the character the trunk has ocumulated over the many years. New high end fabric interior was put on after stripping. Cleaning, brushing, drying and sealing the interior. some say fabric was not used for the interior originally. 1920's Antique Black Auto Trunk by Eder Mfg.
This is an auto trunk from the 20's or early 30's in excellent condition. It has well-maintained a classy look. The trunk is covered in a bonded leather type material. It is textured like leather but a small tear in the front reveals a fabric backing. It may haven been painted at one time. Though I can't tell for sure. Dimensions are 32"x15"x15" Handle on right side has ripped, though both pieces are still present, and there is a small tear in the material on the front. The corners are all reinforced by leather pieces. Each strap and corner piece is secured by gorgeous rivets. The interior material is in pretty decent shape. The fabric along the sides and on top is original, while the bottom has maintained most of the original paper. There is a small crack on the interior of the front board. It appears this trauma ... moreoccurred at the same time as the tear in the material on the exterior. I suppose it likely collided with the corner of something rather dense at some point. The company's emblem is placed a the bottom right corner of the trunk's front. The locks are completely intact and look fantastic. Sorry, don't have the keys. Eveleigh Baggage Canada's best since 1870" Under the outer lid, there is an insert which reveals the main compartment when removed. Trunk is fully intact except the centre buckle needs repairing. One rear hinge needs tightening, the right-side leather strap is torn. Otherwise this is in great shape inside and out. Please take a look at the pictures to determine condition! This trunk is from the late 1920's, very clean, comes from a smoke free& pet free home. Outer dimensions are approx. 36" wide x 23" high x 21" deep There is very little information available about this company. It seems that one John Eveleigh was born in Hereford. England in 1765, moving to Ireland ... morewhere all of his children were born before emigrating to Montreal, Quebec. One of his descendants, Joseph, remained in this city and founded the luggage company in 1870. In the days of lengthy travel by steamship and rail, there was obviously a huge demand for traveler's trunks. As the automobile and then the aircraft gained ascendancy as a mode of travel, luggage needs changed and perhaps Eveleigh did not adapt to this. The company was bought out in 1957 by the J.E. Lortie Company, also of Montreal, which had begun in 1892 as a saddlery business, eventually turning to the manufacture of leather pole-climbing belts and straps needed by workers erecting the the rapidly expanding electricity and telegraph lines. The Lortie company went on to manufacture canvas goods such as dunnage bags and army webbing during World War II, to which they added the Eveleigh product line when they acquired that company. Today, Lortie is known as Jelco, and specializes in fall-protection equipment. I will be listing a number of various pieces from 1930's-1970's. Up for auction is a early 1900's steam trunk luggage made by Winship Migrator. This trunk is made of solid wood and leather. The hardware does have light surface rust as this is easy to clean with steel wool. The leather is scratched. Cracking, and coming up in some places. One of the 2 handles are broke. all the latches work and this does come with three origional wooden hangers. One of the hangers does have a chip in the wood. This is a real time treasured piece! The inside does looks great. It may have a light stain or two and some slight dust as this is normal for it's age of around 100 years old. It measures 29.5 x 9 x 20.5 inches.

Antique 1920's Immigiant's Steamer Trunk SS DROTTINHOLM Swedish American Sticker
A vintage to antique 1920's immigrant's half-dome top steamer trunk. Very plain, very solid and very sturdy. It's covered with tin and the metal has quite a lot of surface rust but it should clean up nicely and there is no rust through(no holes) The hardwood slats running across the top have developed a nice patina over the years and there are a couple of stickers remaining on one side that indicate it was shipped via the Swedish American Line the SS DROTTINHOLM, purchased by Sweden in 1920. Originally this ship was known as the RMS VIRGINIAN. A steam turbine powered transatlantic ocean liner that was initially launced in 1904. The trunk measures approximately 30" long X 14" wide X 21" high at the highest point near the center and it weighs roughly 37 lbs. There is no tray and the cloth stays that help to keep the ... morelid from falling backwards when open are torn. It has 2 wire bail type metal handles that would make it very uncomfortable to carry when it was full. I'm imagining the original owners immigrated to the US via New York sometime in the 1920's and based on the looks of this trunk it took every penny they could scrape together to pay for their passage. The trunk is lined with old paper and there are lots of water marks on the lining but the inside is nice and dry. It smells musty but there are no noxious odors and no moth ball smells. Most folks like to remove all of the paper inside, sand down the interior and then seal it which eliminates any lingering odors. Others like to line them with cedar. This interesting old trunk will be a worthy restoration project which will allow you to add additional storage to you home while preserving a small piece.of history. There's even the remote possibility( if you are of Swedish descent) that one of your family members originally traveled to the US via New York and the trunk came to rest here in Wisconsin as they made their way West! ANTIQUE 1920's ROUND CASE LUGGAGE HAT BOX TRUNK LEATHER TRIM TRAVEL STICKERS
An antique 1920's round black case/ luggage/ hat box/ trunk with leather trim and quite a few old travel stickers. It measures approximately 20" in diameter with one flat side so it can sit up without a problem X 9 3/4" high. There are 2 small brass hinges on the lid that hold it to the base of the case and there are 2 ribbons that serve as stays when the case is opened so the lid won't flop backwards when it's opened. It would seem that the lady who owned this hat case was a woman of'means' when you look at all the places it has been. And she most likely owned several others as well as the one you see here. One of the stickers on the case indicate the woman's name was Amelia Gebhard traveled in Cabin#11 on the Norddeutscher Lloyd(North German Lloyd) shipping line from Bremen to New York on 8-24-1926. VINTAGE HARTMANN 1920's STEAMER TRUNK LUGGAGE CHEST ANTIQUE NEAT PIECE
Up for purchase is this CIRCA 1920 Hartmann Cushion Top Steamer Trunk. The piece measures 40.5 x 21.5 x 15. As you can see on one side there are 4 Drawers and on the other one small suitcase on the bottom from where you would hang your cloths. There are no locks with this trunk, I do have the hardware piece to install the main lock if at some point you wanted to change the lock. This piece appears to have been repainted with the red and the art deco look on the drawers which was very well done. This piece was used as a decorative piece in a master bathroom from a local estate. The latches shut tight as they should. The piece has the patina one would expect from a steamer trunk from this era, has dings, dents scratches, scuffs, and the metal has the aged patina look. I have taken many pictures for your review. I have not attempted to clean ... moreup other than to run a damp cloths over the piece to clean off the dust.
