The stand has machine turned legs, and towel bars at the sides that attach to a custom shaped trim work that runs across the back. This trim work is at most 5" above the top of the stand. The top of the stand is 28.5" tall, 33" tall at the top of the raised towel bars, is 28.5" long across the back from bar to bar, and 18.75" wide front to back, including the trim. The bottom shelf has a small area at the far right front where it looks like the wood may have been broken and repaired, or at least cracked. I am unsure of the type of wood that the stand is made from, but it looks like Cherry to me.

ANTIQUE SOLID BRASS STRONG BOX JEWEL CHEST SAFE W/ MOTION ALARM PATENT 1912. Click picture to enlarge click picture to enlarge This is a solid brass strong box or safe. With a patent date of 1912. It measures 12 inches by about 9 and weighs over 10 3/4 pounds of brass. The brass is put together with rivets for strength on all sides. It was designed by a German immigrant, Herman Schmarsow of New York City. The patent date and number are on the bottom of the box. It was patented as a Safety Jewelry Chest. What is amazing about this old strongbox is that it has a built in motion sensor alarm system. Under the brass plate on the bottom is an alarm with an arm that would strike the side of the box with a loud clanging noise if the box was lifted. Moving the alarm pin on the underside. All the parts are there. But of course, batteries would have ... moreto be attached to make it work. There is a lock on the front. But unfortunately, I have no key. It would use a flat safety deposit type key from what I could find out. If you want to see how this safe and the alarm works. I think they show this type of safe and how the alarm works and sounds online, including on U-Tube. These boxes are rare. And I was lucky enough to have found one. The brass is in found condition, not cleaned or polished in any way. There are no dings and dents or bent metal. One of the rivets holding the lock is loose, and needs to be re-set properly. STUNNING ANTIQUE 1926 ROOS CEDAR HOPE CHEST! The Ed Roos Company. Based in Forest Park, IL, was in business from 1916-1951 and made chests in popular styles from Edwardian to Art Deco. Featuring double locks and two levels. This beautiful Hope Chest is multi-functional and a great collectors piece! The first shelf has four felt compartments including one large area that you can strap down a blanket or anything really! The largest compartment under the first shelf is lined with thick paper with holes. This method is used to protect both the cedar and any items stored. Articles and cloths along with other items can stick to the cedar and possibly ruin both. The lining helps the cedar breath. And keeps items from attaching to the wood. The entire Chest has wood inlay around the body. And lovely carved embellishment around the edges. up for auction is a very rare one of a kind dresser secretary chest of drawers this one came from Grand Ma Webb(step Grandparent) was bought from a big name motel going out of business in late 20 early 30's is in the Mission Arts& Crafts style was made from a single cherry tree. I was able to count the rings on the top side it is 19 inch wide matches sides and drawer frts with an added 4.5 inch wide to make the top 23.5 inch wide the rings 11 to 14 per inch add up to 110 year old cherry tree crotch cut very rare and hard to make, the maker had to hand cut french dovetails in across the top to slide the drawer sides in to keep the top from warping up"that is why they alternate the grain on 4 inch planks" instead of the way this was made, he also had to bridge up the bottom of the top boards from warping down for the same ... morereason and double everything, quite a feat with only hand tools no nails no power tools back then just dovetails and mortise and tennon pined,everything except drawers and sliders were all made from the same cherry even the frame all matching all from same tree, I have only seen one dresser in a book that was made similar but all mahogany and it was around $80 grand, I would have never had a chance to own this but unfortunately the office caught fire,I understand befor the fire the dresser was insured for $13 grand, has no fire damage but some smoke damage in the 1960's in the 80's it was stored in the formans grove house till grannie passed and it was given to me bless her thank you grannie so much, this is a huge chest of drawers or dresser or? Mea 59 1/2 inch tall 70 1/2 inch wide 23 1/2 frt to back, approx 300 pounds and the weight is a guess I do use the freight estimator it is very close easy to use this is a good one the only name I could find other than all the bday sigs was a cherry vally in large script type lettering hidden away under the frt secretary door and the door has to be re-moved to actually see cherry vally and I am not sure it is a maker mark

Beautiful and extremely difficult to find. Small antique chest/ cabinet, with two doors and a shelf. It originally had four"bum" feet, which are missing, problaby removed by previous owner. It is in exquisite solid brazilian rosewood. The top has some fissures which would benefit from some re-finishing. It has doors on both sides. But they are fake, or"dummy" doors on one side. The chest has hand turned bracketed bun feet and pegged on front and back corners. Original hardware and lock(no key) This has been professionally restored keeping the age and the integrity of the piece in mind. The inside cedar lining is original and in lovely condition. It is is 53 1/4 inches tall x 36 1/4" wide x 19 1/4" deep. Great Quality, Proudly Made in USA. It is over 70 years old with original finish, dark mahogany stain, has some normal usage scratch marks from over the 70 plus years, good used condition, as pictured. Solid wooden antique chest with two drawers and one cabinet and matching mirror. Located in Nashua. New Hampshire(45 minutes from Boston, MA) Top is kind of formica laminate. Nice crystal knobs all in very good condition. Was used for years in family homestead in kitchen where tools and other handy items were stored. Well preserved in smoke free home.
