Vintage 1950's Lane Cedar Chest Blonde Laminate Lane Replacement Lock Installed
Beautiful Lane Cedar Chest from the 1950's. Blonde laminate exterior. Check out the pictures for a more definitive description. The trunk measures 20" tall. 47" wide and 16 1/2" deep. In the last picture, I'm pointing to a small chip in the laminate, smaller than a dime in size. The chip doesn't go all the way through the laminate, so the color remains. It's in good used vintage condition with some surface wear and tarnish and I believe a tiny crack by the bottom bolt that you can't see from the front and doesn't seem to affect its use whatsoever.please view pictures for any further description/condition. Guessing this dates back to the 30's. But could be wrong. Measures 30.75" x 16.75" x 12.5" Metal and brass plate with vulcanized fiber. Removable drawer. Long lock(which works) with 2 keys. A little beat up, but in decent condition for age, all leather handles in good shape. The white stenciling(and stickers) can be removed. I have this beautiful hand carved Chinese camphor wood dresser chest. This dresser is a light cherry color. Measures 36 1/4" Wide by 18 1/2" Deep by 40 1/4" Tall. There are 4 drawers 2 long drawers and 2 small drawers. All have original wood liner in the drawers, so of course you can see wear to the wood, slight cracks here and there. The chest on top has a sliding tray which is also removable. The chest is 13" Deep. There is an original sticker from the manufacturer on the chest lid which states that this is a George Zee& Company piece of furniture that was made in Shanghai. This dresser comes with the original lock and key which is in good working condition. There are a few knicks and defects here and there, see photo's. The 6th photo shows the only major damage on this piece of furniture which is just from wear ... moreand being moved around, all cosmetic and can be fixed. The interior is just about perfect. Antique Wood Chest Small Trunk Fabric Covered Worcester Metal Goods Co. Lock Key
The box measures 15.5" x 8.5" x 7.5" and is in good condition for its age. I do not know the maker of the box but the hardware is made by Worcester Metal Goods Co. It is very sturdy and the hinges are holding up well. The fabric is very soft but I am not sure what material it is. It is tearing at some of the edges but is mostly intact. It looks like only one nail is missing and I think it just held the fabric in the corner in place. All of the rivets for the hardware are original and intact. The lock is a little tight but it works well and has the key. The inside feels similar to wallpaper and has some wear and discoloring but is in pretty good shape. Feel free to ask questions.
