A beautiful Mendel Trunx wardrobe steamer trunk from early 1900's. Made in Cincinnati and this trunk had been all over the world. Unfortunately. Someone removed most of the stickers of port, but some, like Finland, Stockholm, Drottningholm, wherever that is, remain. All 5 drawers are in wonderful shape and have all ties. there is a clothes bag, intact curtain, 7 wooden hangers, 2 pants hangers. There are no major scratches and no tears. Vintage camelback steamer trunk with decorative stamped tin on top. Front and sides. This is a small trunk as the dimensions show below. More manageable size than some of the very large ones I've seen. As you can see from the pictures the tin has developed a beautiful greenish patina. All natural and from what I can tell untouched as far as being refinished. It takes a long time to get that type of patina in the metalwork. It looks really awesome. Some original paper still remains on inside. Has built-in casters. Handles are rotted away as most are on the trucks 100 years old. It measures 30"Long x 16"Deep x 19"Tall. Beautiful Vintage Franzi travel trunk
This is a very nice Franzi steamer or travel trunk. Its overall color is green it has black leather boardering. The trunks dimensions r 13 inches tall bye 20 inches deep and 32 inches long. All the hardware and accessories are complete the leather side handles are intact. Most of the metal adornments are steel. there is the latch that is brass and interior edge guides are brass. The only thing missing is the key. And on the brass latch is stamped the number 125. On the top there is a small crack( see picture) The interior is off white. There are 2 straps on the inside that are complete. There are two stickers for Swedish cruise lines that are dated 1940. There are a couple other spots where stickers were. Has artist initials and symbol carved on inside of trunk and also on another amazing carving that hangs over a fireplace mantle. The carving is of Mary with child. Intricate carving. Up for sale is a Vintage Mid Century Cedar Chest. It is double walled and has brass ornate corner plates for decoration and protection. It has four short feet and a hinged lid. It does not have a makers mark. It is in great condition with some light scratching and marks on the lid. There is a couple little discoloration marks and a tiny yellow paint mark. The inside is in excellent condition with very minimal signs of wear. It measures approx. 42.5" long by 20.5" wide by 18.5" tall. This is going to be listed as Local Pick Up only. The workmanship is just amazing and shows that it was created by a master craftsman. It has an antiqued closure at the front and two carrying handles at either end. It's rare to find a vintage 1920's Hartmann wardrobe travel steamer trunk with its Yale key in this condition. All of the buckles and hardware on this piece are in working order. It comes with 2 straight bar hangers; 2 specialty hangers; and 5 coat/shirt/dress hangers. It has the original wood and metal bars that would have kept clothes tight and flat. The clothes bar extends 18" to pull clothes out for easy access. The trunk has three small drawers with cloth tie-downs and one large drawer with the original hanging hat keeper. There is some slight fraying of the cloth on the drawers from use but no large tears. The interior lid still retains its original blue velvet liner- still in beautiful condition with no tears or frays. The leather handle is stamped: 360 3" and the leather is in great condition. The wood does have a few chips and scratches but I have not attempted to clean or polish it. The inside is excellent with original labeling and cedar with felt lining. Measures 47½ x 17½ x 21" tall. PLEASE NOTE: We will need to remove the lock and you will need to replace with a new one. ATTN: Per the Consumer Product Safety Commission(CPSC) Full size chests manufactured between 1912-1987 need to have their locks replaced due to the fact that the original locks automatically latch shut when closed and children can become entrapped.
