Restored 1940's Italian Chest Offered here is a very inlaid Italian style chest. We believe it to be from the 1940's. Give or take a decade. It has been restored and is in excellent condition as you can see from the many photos. Not one but two keys are included with this piece. The drawers on this piece glide very easily. Much of this piece has a very desirable'crackle' or crazed finish that can only be obtained from age. The photos did not show this. However you should be aware that this piece has a beautiful aged look. The top is in great shape with only a couple small imperfections that are not easily seen without getting very close to the piece. This chest really shows nicely. This ia a beautiful antique painted chest(cir. 1920's) that I bought in Maine. The front has painted figures in a landscape with flowers. Etc. It is exquisitly done. There are three small drawers and two large ones that are all dovetailed. It is very heavy and well made, and has wondefully detailed knobs and pulls. There are a few pieces of molding missing around the drawers and a few minor chips and scratches to the surface that are due to the age of the chest. Acquired in France. This is a wonderful large-size antique Flat Top Steamer Trunk with the original removable tray, heavy-duty sturdy leather handles, and classic French style. It has beautiful hardwood slats across the top and front which offer protection from damage. Measuring approximately 47 1/4" long, 23" wide, and 13 1/2" deep, it's large size is perfect for use as a coffee table or end-of-the-bed storage. The exterior has an old black crackle-paint finish which has covered some vintage decals. This French Steamer Trunk has the original lift-out tray with nice original striped fabric and cloth tie-downs and the original thick cast brass hardware with a working key. All the art is still looking excellent with very little fading if any. Measures: 51" High. 24.50" Wide& 14.25" Deep at center of bow. All 7 drawers are 18.75" Wide, 10.50" Deep(at center of bow) 4.25" High.The drawers slide nicely& are interchangeable so you can place them in any slot that pleases you. It's in excellent condition for it's age. Needing only a few touch-ups. Some of the'Gold' that is on top& bottom of chest including the legs needs touching up where it has flaked off. Standing in front of(facing) ... morethe chest. The right side front corner just below the gold'rope' on down needs some cream touch up. The top is nice& smooth although there's 3 tiny little'pits' size of the point on a tooth pick. It looks great without any of these fixes, I am just trying to be as detailed as possible so there are no surprises when it arrives at your door. Please carefully look at pictures as they will'describe' it's condition better than my words can. The only'hardware' is drawer pulls& they look original. Everything else is wood. I don't see where any nails were used at all. As far as history on this all I can tell you is I purchased it from a gentleman that said his mother had bought this at an antique store in the mid west back in the 70's. After researching the internet& from what he told me It's most likely from the 1940 to the 50's. Again that's just a guess. I couldn't really find another one like it. Antique Hand Painted Chest of Drawers in The French Style
This is a very nice hand painted french style serpentine front chest of drawers circa 1900. Not sure were it was made I bought it in England. But has a french look to it. The sides there has been a little veneer lifting but is pretty solid. There is also one escutching to the bottom drawer missing were the key would go. It has dovetail joints to the drawers they are solid wood and run fine. I think also at some time there has been 2 drop handles replaced but the back plates are original. Measurements 50 wide. 22 deep, 34 high.

Perhaps a salesman sample or an apprentice piece in very good condition with only some veneer lifting to the canted front corners and some very minor age marks. All six drawers are trimmed with bronze edging and have the original brass pulls( all are dovetailed) There are floral bronze mounts& the original onyx top has only minor age nips. Most probably 1st quarter of the 1900s. It has the original finish; does not appear to have been refinished. Three drawers; each opens and closes smoothly. Nice carving. The top appears to be dark in spots but there are no chips or scratches. It does not appear to have a veneer to it. Each drawer retains the original hardware as well. We are pleased to offer this beautiful. Antique to older vintage chest. This is a very nice piece of accent furniture that is also very functional. The chest features two large drawers for storage. It is crafted of solid wood and has French or Italian provincial lines. It is a bow front design with the curvature extending to the sides. The cabriole legs have a carved shell accent on the feet. The shell is also featured on the center of the scalloped apron/skirt. The entire exposed surface(excluding the back) have been hand painted and stenciled in a Neoclassical pattern of acanthus leafs and ornate scrolls. The color is predominantly white with a golden antiquing glaze wash. The patterns have colors of gold and light green. The drawers retain their original, generously sized, ornate pulls.
