The piece was represented as a Maitland Smith tray table. Maitland Smith typically uses paper labels. So it probably got removed at some juncture. So representing as Maitland Smith as was communicated, but there is no label on the piece identifying as such. Have not been able to find another table like this one to identify the model number. Any assistance would be appreciated. The table base and the server tray are made of wood. Some loss of paint finish. But still looks very good. All is intact. Nice black painted base with gold colored accents and scrolls. The base has brass rollers on it, so the table can easily be moved around on any surface. I only see one issue to report to you. The wood carved webbing in one of the sides of the tray was damaged at one time and was repaired. See pic. A good black enamel Krylon or Rustoleum furniture marker would finish the touch up on that earlier repair. We don't fix our items. We sell them as we find them. The tray table is 21.5" tall(tray in place) By 31-3/8" across, by 21-3/8" wide. The floor of the server tray is 19.75" above the ground. This classic Chest in original condition, and it has a medium/dark Walnut stain finish color on the outside. See pictures. This Chest has interesting carved accents on the front. And it has wide legs. See pictures. This elegant Cedar Chest was produced by the Tennessee Furniture c ompany. A fine furniture manufacturer, and it was sold by the Grand Rapids Furniture Company of New York. This bea u ti f ul Chest is secure and sturdy with some small scratches here and there proper with its age& w ear and tear. See pictures. There are some minor repairs and touch-ups on the Chest. Being offered for sale is this lovely Empire Mahogany Cedar Lined Blanket Chest with Removable Tray circa 1900. This large blanket chest was made by and marked: Paine Furniture Co. Boston, MA" The Paine Furniture Company was founded in Boston. Ma in 1835 by Leonard Shearer. In 1835 Boston was a small city, but the furniture industry was rapidly growing and in 1872 Shearer opened an huge Paine Furniture Co. Furniture Center. By 1914 Paine Furniture was operating from a ten-story showroom and factory. This fine blanket chest is executed in mahogany with a wonderful cedar lining that offers a lift out cedar tray. This large chest offers a tremendous amount of storage possibilities and features full ebonized Corinthian columns with gold accents at the top and base. This chest measures 28 3/4 inches in height.46 inches wide and 21 inches deep and weighs approximately 75 lbs. The lift our cedar tray measures 40 inches long,16 inches wide and 3 inches deep and features cut-out handles on each end. There are some veneer chips here and there on the lid edge and feet. The top does show surface scratches and a dark ring. Lock is intact but we do not have the key. On the inside of the lid by the lock there is additional wear and scratches around the brass lock and small metal braces have been added at some point in time to the right inside back corner. This chest is a wonderful piece to place at the foot of a bed for storage of blankets and linens and is solid and sturdy enough to be a seating area as well and offers substantial storage with classic style. Vintage Queen Anne Style "Cavalier" Cedar Chest-Tennessee Furniture Co.
Offered is this attractive vintage Queen Anne style"Cavalier" cedar chest. Built by the Tennessee Furniture Company in Chattanooga. Tennessee. The Tennessee Furniture Company was founded in 1865 but didn't begin using the"Cavalier" trademark until 1923. I believe the company went out of business in the late 1950s-early 1960s. Making this chest at least 50 years old and possibly as much as 90 years old. The chest is 45" wide. 32" high and 19" deep. The inside dimensions of the storage area. Made from Tennessee red cedar. Are approx. 41 1/2" wide, 14 1/4" high and 16 1/2" deep. All of the front"drawers" are false. I think all of the hardware is original. The cedar interior of the piece is like new. But there are some problems with the veneered exterior: The"foot" of one ... moreof the front legs is damaged. Both ends of the fan emblem are missing. One of the very thin pieces of molding that outline the"drawers" is missing(bottom of top"drawer" The top has a good deal of scratches. Scrapes, etc. Scratch Cover has made it look better. But you might want to consider refinishing the top unless you plan to cover it with something. The front and sides are in much better shape. The original key is included. But I could not get the lock to work. Maybe you can. The lid latch works fine. However. I have this listed as"pickup only" because of what would probably be a very high shipping cost. However. I have up for sale a very nice vintage original circa 1920s- 40s Cedar Chest. The chest is in very clean original condition! It measures approx 45-1/4" long. 20" deep, approx 19-1/2" tall which includes the 1" castor height. The chest is in Excellent Condition- nice clean original finish- strong& sturdy- has a flat top which would be strong enough to sit on- that is unless you are over 300 lbs then I would not advise it. Some normal light age wear as one would expect. The only damage to note is a fairly inconspicuous chip/ slivered off piece- located on the front lower right. Shown up close in pics 10& 12. This is not something that is very noticeable at all, the sliver was done many years back and it has been stained over and the only way you will notice it, is if you look upclose with scrutiny. There is some ... moreslight wear to the metal bands, but its very light- nothing serious. The hinge works perfectly and the little metal elbow for holding the top up, when opened,works just fine. I do not have the key for the lock and not sure if the lock works. We went on Google and found Mendel Drucker Doll Trunks like this. Information provided is that they were from the early 1900s and are quite rare. Size: 13 x 8 x 7 inches. It appears to be wood covered with a fabric designed paper. Inside is a different paper pattern. There is a light weight tray which seems to be cardboard covered with matching paper. There are wood strips on top and inside(holding up the tray) which are attached with metal fasteners. Condition: This old truck shows much wear. It opens and closes properly. The tray is fastened back together at one end with tape. I did not try to clean it as I sell things as I get them and let the buyers who have knowledge of these ... moredo the cleaning and repairing if they choose. DOLLS: There are 3 small plastic dolls. One is a 4 3/4 inch girl with a pink crocheted dress which is faded. Her head has come undone at the seam but could be glued back together. Her arms move. The next is 5 inches tall. The head appears to be porcelain and the remainder of the body looks like it's hard plastic. Head. Arms and legs move. There is half an old Christmas label but no writing on it. The third is only 4 3/4 inches tall; however, her dress is a couple of inches longer. She has no hair(or wig) Her arms and legs move. Her apron Has"Monte Carlo. I fell in love with it the first time I ever saw it. NOT Wicker. NOT Fiber. NOT Plastic. It's woven split wood that's as firm and sturdy as sold wood. This is authentic. A child. Who would be 90 this year, played with this as a young girl. It was her very favorite, long standing plaything that she treasured and kept throughout her lifetime. It has endured rough treatment by a household of children and dozens of friends and cousins. When she was an adult, her own children and her nieces and nephews spent their childhood years playing"pretend" with this cute miniature piece of furniture.
