For sale is a great salesman sample or miniature Louis XV style burl walnut commode with gilt metal ormolu mounts and marble top. This came from a private estate collection from the Hudson Valley region of upstate NY. It features a beautiful burl walnut veneered surface with lovely marquetry inlay work. It is affixed with gilt metal ormolu mourns. The draws are all dovetailed jointed. The top features a beautiful curved marble slab top. The marble top is loose from the commode. It appears to have come unglued. We left it unglued. The piece has a Bloomingdales France label in the reverse. It may have retailed through there sometime in the 1940's or 50's. Minor age appropriate wear. It is just a wonderful salesman sample bow front miniature French commode worthy of a collection. H. 35 in. W. 48 in. D. 21 1/2 in. Chest is in very good condition. Marble has no chips, One small missing piece of veneer is missing and has been patched. No other missing or chipped chipped veneer.
