Vintage/ retro, rustic country, shabby chic, waxed pine, blanket box/ trunk/ chest/ coffee table/box. Measuring 27ins(69cms) wide x 9ins(23cms) high x 11ins(27cms) wide, it is a traditionally constructed chest with nicely interlaced corner joints, a couple of hinged clasps to the front and two sound, solid brass, hinges to the rear. It is finished with an antique wax over the original dark varnish and has a nice sheen to it. It is constructed with pine sections to the front. Back and both sides and what looks like plywood for the lid and base. I nternally it has a long thin and angled. Removalable tray to the front and a stout metal stay at eother side. Its a bit stained and dusty but dry, rot and woodworm free! It is a sturdy chap. ... moreBut has signs of a long and busy life. There are a myriad of very characteful nicks, dinks and scars, dents, scratches and so on, but nothing serious or detracting and both the clasps, whilst working very effectively are pretty stiff and would probably benefit from a drop of oil! Then there is cider bottle crate(37cm x 22.5cm x 34cm) with the company name printed'Coate Gaymer Whiteway' The last is a wine crate(50cm x 33cm x 18cm) this also has a manufacturers mark as pictured. All three are solid and ready for use/display. Like with most of these old crates there is evidence of historical worm which has since long gone and been treated just to make sure. Vintage, shabby chic, pine, blanket box/ travel trunk/ chest/ coffee table/ box. Measuring 15.5ins(40cms) high x 30ins(76cms) wide x 18ins( 46 cms) deep. It is a solidly constructed trunk made from fairly heavy pine sections with two solid and sound hinges to the rear. This charming trunk has signs of a hard life as there are a myriad of scars. Stains, holes, dents, scuffs and so on over nearly all of it, and most parts are fairly coarsely cut bits of timber.Very characterful and practical and solid. The hinges look new and the bit attached to them maybe also but it doesn't show and works very well. Internally it is plain and. There is an old iron handle at both ends, a central iron clasp, and two solid hinges at the back that come over onto the top. Internally it is plain.Dry and has the original. There is an old iron handle at both ends and a central clasp and lock. Internally it is still lined with the original paper lining and has a removable half height divider in the middle. Dents, scratches and so on over most of the piece and some of the metal work is missing and/or battered with remanants of paintwork on it, but its all characterful! There is a repaired.And now solid, small hole at the back by the right hand side hinge, the screws in the hinges are replacement ones, there are one or two woodworm holes from some long since deceased worms and there is no key for the lock. Also the internal paper is tatty, scuffed and torn and badly stained, but still dry and perfectly usable. For as accurate a representation/description as possible. It stands on four free moving castors and the top is hinged at the back edge with two strong and sturdy hinges. It is finished overa ll in a reddish mahogany colour internally it is plain and dry. Antique/vintage, shabby chic, blanket box/ travel trunk/ chest/ coffee table/ box. Measuring 12ins( 31 cms) high x 36ins(92cms) wide x 11ins( 27 cms) deep. It is constructed with thick sec tioned plywood. Has an old brass handle at either end, two rusty but solid hinges to the rear and is finished in Farrow& Ball, No3, Off White' Estate Emulsion. Internally it is plain and has been coarsely painted in a pale grey. The base has had a hardboard sheet added to it for neatness. There are.Of course, a myriad of very characteful nicks, dinks. Scars, dents, scratches and so on over most of the piece but nothing serious and all very characterful! Very chic and original and a great storage solution as well as a ... moretable!
