This trunk measures approximately 22" ... morelong X 14" wide X 15 1/2" high and it has two hinges in back that hold the lid securely to the base. There used to be sturdy leather handles on each side of the trunk but they are no longer intact, these can be purchased inexpensively on-line and they're fairly easy to replace. The corner protectors and hardware appear to be brass plated steel. There are two hasp type closures, one on each side of the lock and the lock needs to be bent just a little to close it securely. We tried the key and the locking mechanism seems to work properly but we didn't want to damage anything so it will arrive open with the key tucked in an envelope safely inside. The inside of the trunk is wood and there should be wood beneath the black material covering the outside(it is non-magnetic and we don't think it's metal) This little trunk is in very good condition and once it's restored it should be a beauty- perfect for your antique doll collection or as a gift for a very special grandchild. The drawers lock into place and are lined, wood on the outside. The top drawer has a key lock(not included) When you pull out the drawer, there is a leaver that you turn which unlocks the other drawers. The wardrobe side includes the hangers shown(5) and the top opens to ease in getting the hangers out. the metal slats for the hangers to slide out as well, however the right one is hard to push. Has a fabric cloth to cover the clothes from the drawers. This is a large heavy truck, but in pretty good shape for it's age and the number of trips it has taken over the years. The top(picture 6) shows the rip in the fabric. Has two tags on it. First is the Hartman Trunk co, Racine, WI. The other is on the corner and says Wasseman's, Grand Rapids, MI. Stunning vintage 1870's steamer trunk. Little different to the normal ones from this era. Quite a topic of conversation with visitors this one. The large impressive chest comes metal upright banding. Horizontal hard wooden banding held with large brass studs. Replacment top clamps added these were missing. Brass lock and Hasp. Shellac with Bri Wax polish finish. Two working side catches. Large Flat Top Steamer Trunk Nice. Sturdy well made, beautifully restored Steamer Trunk. Newly refinished in a unique antiqued brown. Oak slats have been sanded and stained in a rich red mahogany and coated with polyurethane. My goal with this one is to make it look untouched, but still have a clean usable antique. The interior is newly finished as well. Stripped, sealed and covered in a deep brown felt, no old trunk smell! The handles are original. And still look very nice. It doesn't appear to have ever had wheels on the bottom. Bottom is also refinished. Note: the top has 2 cracks. This is a very nice refinished steamer trunk from around 1900 or so. Here are the trunk's dimensions: from left to right across the front is 32 1/2 inches. From floor to top is 24 inches, and from front edge to back edge is 21 inches. There are some common or typical distress marks on this trunk. These include older nicks and dings in various places along with some stress cracks. The majority of all trunks have distress marks of some nature like this one. Local pick up only.

This antique Hartman Trunk Co. Steamer Suitcase/trunk has great appeal and character. Early 1900's. Covered in leather/cowhide with a pink silk interior this piece was sold by Saks Fifth Avenue. Bronze hinges with a really neat mechanism. Over all condition is great for the age. Leather hinge on the back has torn on the left side. The original owners initials are stamped on the front and have not work. The name of the owner is still on a travel tag attached to a Holland America cruise liner tag. Antique Hartmann steamer trunk wardrobe drawers cloth early 1900's
For your consideration is an antique steamer trunk. Dates to the late 1800 to early 1900's. There are stickers on the truck. Which I did not remove. Germany and Scotland. Has a wonderful cloth pattern on the outside similar to L. Vitton trunks. Features 4 drawers and a wardrobe area to hang cloths. The drawers lock into place and are lined, wood on the outside. The top drawer has a key lock(not included) When you pull out the drawer, there is a leaver that you turn which unlocks the other drawers. The wardrobe side includes the hangers shown(5) and the top opens to ease in getting the hangers out. the metal slats for the hangers to slide out as well, however the right one is hard to push. Has a fabric cloth to cover the clothes from the drawers. This is a large heavy truck, but in pretty good shape for it's age and the number of trips ... moreit has taken over the years. I was told by the individual that I got it from that it is from the 1800s. From my minimal research. That seems to be accurate and consistent. It comes with 5 hangers- only one is original- the others were made afterward- when and how old the others are. I don't know, but can tell you 4 of the 5 are not original. Up for consideration is a nice size Stagecoach antique trunk that has been restored. It has been cleaned well inside and out. The wood has been lightly sanded then sealed with a satin finish. It os all original exccept for the handles were replaced with new leather ones. The inside was recovered so no musty smells. It does have some minor dings and stress cracks. But this only adds to the characture of this 150 year old trunk. It would be Great for a blanket chest. The measurements are; 30" long x 17" wide x 18" tall. Antique Steamer Trunk from WW1 world war One. My Grandfather used this from Germany to come to our wonderful country and used this to pack his belongings. This is made out of woven wood. Size is 40" wide 25" deep and 22 1/2' TALL. The name on the front is( E. KRUGER) This could be before the turn of the century but I don't know for sure. It does have some ware and tare on it. As expected for an all original Tourobe of its age there is also some scuffing on the exterior. Inside still looks great and has the original hangers. Three for suits and three for pants, internal straps are complete. ANTIQUE LOUIS VUITTON ROUNDED TOP LEATHER STEAMER TRUNK CIRCA 1854 to 1867
This is a numbered leather rounded top steamer trunk circa 1854 to 1867. The company started in 1854 and in 1867 changed the look to canvas and the top to a flat surface for better stacking. This trunk has a little recent damage to one outside corner from my daughters cats scratching but I think that can be smoothed out with the right tool. The trunk is over 100 years old so the outside is worn but it is in good condition in spite of the scratches. The inside is in beautiful condition with a wonderfully intack. Clean tray and 3 compartments below the tray with the ties still there to hold your clothes down? The outside leather handles are still there and in good condition. I never allowed anyone to move the trunk by using these handles. I also have a key to the trunk. There are, it seems to me, old European hotel sticker marks on the outside. ... moreI actually have some of these old, beautifully colored stickers from the 1950's or earlier that I would sell separtley. This piece of luggage is a real collectable Louis Vuitton and in better condition than any I have seen sold at other sales. Up for sale is this beautiful antique dome top steamer trunk with ornate embossed metal and a working key. It measures 32" long by 18" wide and 21" tall. The exterior of this trunk was cleaned. The wood slats sanded, stained with minwax"golden oak" then the entire trunk was sealed with spar urethane. The interior lining was removed then the wood was sanded and stained with minwax"golden oak" as well. This trunk shows some wear from age and has some minor flaws i.e. one of the hinges is broke(does not effect the stability, very functional) overall the trunk is in very good condition. And lucky for me I had hubby to carry it out of the attic and down 3 flits of stairs! And now for the decription… This is a nice authentic period Wardrobe steamer trunk. It is signed on the exterior by the maker Oshkosh Trunk Company. I am unsure of the exact age. But it was clearly left where I had found it for a very very long time. If I had to guestimate I would say it is likely from the early 20 th century. It measures 40 x 22 x 20 inches and weighs 75 pounds respectfully. The exterior is covered with what appears to be a volcanized material with dozens of original brass. Nails, knobs Hinges, Lock and hardware. The lock comes with key and functions as designed. Antique Black Steamer Travel Trunk Leather Handles on Each End Front Latch NEAT!
This auction is for a vintage steamer trunk. I think this is the right wording for them. This is black, hinged lid, leather strap handles on each end. Two clasp closures on the front, the main lock is missing the bottom as you can see in the photos. The inside is papered. This is worn and discolored, it is the original. There is a wooden bar on each side where the shelf would sit, but is no longer with the trunk. Measures right at 36" wide, 21.5" deep and 24" tall. It has weight to it! Antique Victorian Restored MONITOR or WATERFALL Style Steamer Trunk 19th Century
Beautiful Victorian Era Steamer Trunk. This trunk has been conserved or restored. Has had quite a bit of work, but the only thing that has been added& isn't original to this trunk are the leather handles. Everthing else is original to this particular trunk The trunk had 3 coats of paint that were removed from its exterior. Afterward it is was polished witha metal polish, there is still some patina, after 100 plus years it is almost impossible to remove all of that with just cloth and polish lol The paint was light green and off white. In certain places small remnants of the paint may remain. Without damaging the surface of the trunk it is very hard to totally get it all off. Also I think it adds to the already very rustic beautiful charm of the trunk. It is important to note the color variations you see in the pics on the metal ARE ... moreNOT paint. This is actually a pattern in the metal. One the end pieces I think it is patina and discoloration. But the middle piece on lower portion, and next to end pieces on top, I think it is the way the metal is made. There are little flower or star shaped medallions on top of trunk and on the front of trunk The wooden slats have been sanded stained and finished The handles were replaced with strips of 100% leather Interior of trunk was stripped of all inside paper. It has been left natural wood so new owner may leave as is. Or finish out to suit their needs best. One of the most unique things about this trunk is the locks on either end of trunk. And latch in center Normally one most I have seen. There will a latch on both ends, and a lock in center, this one is reversed! Ornate Antique Steamer Trunk. Refinished
You are viewing a very stunning antique Steamer trunk. Out of all the trunks I've refinished. This is by far the most unique. The metal trim on all sides, front and back has a unique detailing to it. I would dare to say it is one of a kind. It has been refinished inside and out to bring out the beautiful patina to the Pine base and Oak slats. The lock is very ornate with great looking designs. The end clamps and hardware are also very detailed and unique. It has 4 working casters on the bottom to help in moving from place to place. I left the original paperwork holder on the inside top of lid. It is a little stained, but all intact with leather strap to keep it shut. The dimensions are; L35" W21" and H24" It has a slight arch to the top, but could still be used as a coffee or end table. Or just display it proudly for everyone ... moreto see. This is a vintage piece of luggage that is in used but good condition. It is an extremely rare find and rarer to find in this condition and with key. It is blue slim steamer trunk with blue leather trim and leather handles. The trunk opens up and locks in place to allow for clothes to hang from the hangers. The bottom area has dividers and ribbon ties to secure your items. Both sections have a cloth cover. The bottom has snaps to secure it to the bottom of one of the dividers. Hartmann Tourobe Wardrobe Steamer Trunk Antique HTF!! VERY RARE!
This antique Hartmann Tourobe is still in great condition. However. Like all original Tourobe's from the turn of the century, there are some scuff marks, scratches and such on the exterior. Look closely at the destination it traveled. It was sent from a teacher in Germany to an officer in Brooklyn New York. What a distance! Inside still looks great and has the original hangers. 6 total hangers, four for suits and two for pants, internal straps are complete. The case has two sections divided by the hinges: 4 divided sections for folded clothing and miscellaneous items secured with adjustable fastening fabric straps. a hanging wardrobe on one side which has a cotton twill covered pad to protect the suits. which fastens with two sets of stud buttons holding the clothes in place. 2 of the 3 buttons are functional. I did not want to replace the fastener as it would change the piece from it's original state. Nice Antique Doll Steamer Trunk with Insert. The trunk is missing the 2 side handles and the hinges are good along with the front lock. The inside is clean and the insert is in very good condition. There is some light paint spots on the outside of the trunk. That looks easy to remove. The trunk is 14" wide. 8 1/2" deep and 9 1/2" tall. The black metal parts on the out side have some paint loss. This is a 110% authentic and genuine antique Louis Vuitton Steamer wardrobe upright trunk dating back to 1913. It's in remarkably great condition. It has all the original hardware with 5 wheels(4 on the bottom and 1 on the side) and 2 handles. The wheel on the side allows the trunk to open easily when it stands on one end. This was convenient when it was used as a wardrobe trunk. The monogram canvas. The wooden slats on the bottom, the locks, the nails, and the leather straps are all marked with LV and/or Louis Vuitton. It is hand painted and monogrammed with the initials L.J.P- it was once used as a wardrobe trunk, the tray is gone but the cedar slat is still there. The front lock says 1 Rue Scribe, Paris, Louis Vuitton, London, 149 New Bond Street, Made In France. The lock number is 039456. Hi up for auction I have an antique Hartmann Gibralterized travel steamer trunk. These trunks were designed to travel on ships or rail systems. This trunk dates from the 1920's to 1930's. It is very heavy and large. Measures: 20 x22 x 40 5/8. And has a weight of 95 pounds. The trunk has some nice labels on it. Antique HARTMANN Wardrobe Steamer Trunk Cushion Top No Reserve
You are bidding on an antique Hartmann brand wardrobe steamer trunk in amazing condition. It has almost all of its original accessories and hardware. Many hangers are included. Possibly more than originally equipped. Both the securing bar for the drawers and the securing bar for the clothes are present and original. It is very large measuring 40"x23"x25" It is also very heavy. This trunk has been in our family for so long that no one even remembers where it came from. Until recently, we could not open it because it was locked and we had no key. We had a key made for it and were amazed at how great it looked when we opened it up. There is no key for the securing bar for the drawers, but it is not seized and should work properly if a new key is made. It needs a new handle as it is missing. It should be a standard leather strap ... moretype for which reproductions are available and inexpensive. The only other thing I see that may be missing is a travel case that would lock into the hanger area. If you look at the drawers, you will see the Hartmann logo on the handles, and there is some of the original label left on the top. It has gold color interior with very nice trim. Some wear on the contact areas like the drawer slides, but overall, it looks hardly used. Based on its design, I would say that it is probably from the 1920s or 1930s. I was unable to confirm this, and base my guess on some old advertising I was researching. I welcome any information as to its time of manufacture.
