It has some patina on the metal hinges. One of the legs has a missing supporting piece(about a 1 inch long little piece of wood) This piece can use some heavy cleaning. This table would have supported a lamp. This lamp is not included. Pleasingly solid brass trays are supported by a folding base to produce a two tier table. The piece is suitable both for permanent location or as on occasional table. When in folded position the table assumes very little space and can be slid under a sofa or such; in addition the gorgeous solid trays may be used on their own for serving and display purposes. The base is a six leg folding design with dragons head carvings to the upper. The trays display wonderful scense with floral and foliate detailing to the perimeter and a central engraving featuring oriental characters in traditional dress. Overall this peice of furniture is in good condition and will make a great addition to any setting. 20" tall approximately 17" width 10" wide lower tray 14" wide upper tray We are a non-profit store and this was a donation. We are fairly certain this is not a reproduction piece and is truly from the 1930's. We do not know much about this piece except for a previous Ebay listing of a very similar item that sold in the UK in Sept. 2012. This classic Chest in original condition, and it has a medium/dark Walnut stain finish color on the outside. See pictures. This Chest has interesting carved accents on the front. And it has wide legs. See pictures. This elegant Cedar Chest was produced by the Tennessee Furniture c ompany. A fine furniture manufacturer, and it was sold by the Grand Rapids Furniture Company of New York. This bea u ti f ul Chest is secure and sturdy with some small scratches here and there proper with its age& w ear and tear. See pictures. There are some minor repairs and touch-ups on the Chest. 30s Art Deco Heirloom Wood Roos Sweetheart Cedar Chest w/ Tray Insert Excellent!
Vintage 30s Roos Cedar Chest This is a gorgeous heirloom quality Roos Sweetheart cedar chest from the late 1930s. This Roos chest was made in Forest Park. IL. The chest is made of Claro Walnut, Striped Walnut and Black Walnut. The inside of the chest is aromatic Red Cedar. The cedar chest is still quite aromatic, it has a special sealite lid to prevent the escape of the protective cedar fumes. The chest measures 47-1/4" long, it is 23" tall and 18-1/4" deep. It has a cedar tray on the inside which is 10" deep. The cedar chest is in excellent condition, the wood is rich and it gleams. On close inspection it shows a few vintage scuffs, mainly where the back edge would rub against the wall when opened, but nothing outstanding and it shows no abuse. The inside looks like new. There is a lock on the chest but I do not have ... morea key. This chest comes from a smoke free and pet free home. It is clean and ready to use. Buyers are welcome to ask for other forms of payment. c1930 Waterfall Lingerie Chest of Drawers Art Deco Tiger Wood? Good Condition
You're bidding on a beautiful. Original Art Deco Waterfall-style(what I call a) lingerie chest of drawers. This piece shows VERY well and should be a featured item in your decor. The lamination and parquetry are bold and visually striking. It has some minor flaws and wear, including a small chip(1/2" to the lower right of one drawer, a couple of light scratches, and a spot of minor laminate warp. I have pictured these. Drawers slide beautifully on wood side rails(under-drawer) It features lots of vertical and horizontal fluting. I am not an expert on wood, so I won't venture a guess on this piece. You tell me! All I know is, it's a beautiful piece of decorative, functional furniture. This piece has been coated with varnish or shellac or polyurethane(or something similar) which increases its glossy appearance. That does not ... moredetract from the appearance of the piece. The outside of the chest shows signs of age and has some scratches and wear, from being relocated a few times, but is in good condition for its age. The three rear hinges open and close well. Now offering, Circa 1920s Antique Belber Traveling Goods wardrobe steamer trunk/dresser. It still has the original hangers. All the drawers and original pulls, a special shoebox insert in the bottom drawer(which has the only damage to report which is detailed in our last picture) the original laundry/garment drawstring bag(almost impossible to find these days) it also has two drawer dividers in the very top drawer, the original Belber instruction manual, also included is the lock down metal mechanism for the left side of the chest, but no key. It is clearly marked Belber and the outside is in very good condition. It does have some dings and scratches that are consistent with its"worldly travels" There is a metal plaque on it that states patent dates from Feb.13, 1907- Aug. 21, 1928. The leather carrying handle is intact and not ... morebroken. The original inspector tag still hangs from one pull. Measures 41" tall when standing on its right end x 20.5" wide x 21.5" deep when closed. It is heavy and requires two people to lift it. This has the classic curved Art Deco lines and is made by the Standard Line Co. from Chicago. IL. The handles look like amber Bakelite and has a working music box that starts up when you open the top right hand drawer. Unlike other cedar chests it has three compartments at the bottom for extra storage. It also has a small drawer underneath the clock for jewelry. A very nice piece of travel history. A 1920's Belber steamer trunk with original drawers and wood hangers. The size is approx 41" high by 23" x 22" There are a few nicks and minor dings.
