It is 82" long and ... more39" high to the center at the back. This sofa is ornate with hand crafted hard wood decor about 2" thick in dark brown color of the grape and leaf patterns. The cushion is about 4" at highest point. 58" long without arm, and 20" deep. It is an original tanned upholstery with the small mauve flower pattern. It is decorated with some fabric buttons on the cushion. The cushion is very firm. There are 3 light water stains on the cushion sitting area as shown in the pictures. There is a small worn area on the fabric of the left arm. No major damage on the cushion. The cushion is 5" high from the floor. It has the brass rivets stitched along the cushion all the way around the front. The arm is 24 1/2" high from the floor. Each arm of the sofa has embossed hand crafted grape leaf design. There is a wooden surface damage on the top right arm. The stitching at the back along the left arm has come detached about 2" The legs are very stunning with the hand carvings on wood about 2 3/4" thick. The end of the legs have brass wheels about 1" diameter. There is a tear at the back on right foot area of the upholstery about 2" but it is not noticeable. The back felt cover is purple/ blue, it is faded. There are rusty nails holding back cover, that is partially torn off. The bottom of the couch covered with the fabric, it is old, has no tears. All the tears mentioned can be fixed. All is in great shape. This piece is really classic antique look, was kept well by our grandmother circa 1800's. Sold as is. Local pick-up only. I think the wood could be walnut the more I look at it in this dark finish. The overall size is 21 inches square and 35 inches high overall. Each section is 10 inches wide, 7 inches deep, 11 inches high and 12 inches high on the bottom shelf. It is missing a few of the brass tacks, but overall it is complete. The bottom of one of the sections has a crack and oval stain, which has no effect on the bookcase. Shipping starts at $185 for a driveway delivery in our normal New England delivery area.

Stunning vintage 1870's steamer trunk. Little different to the normal ones from this era. Quite a topic of conversation with visitors this one. The large impressive chest comes metal upright banding. Horizontal hard wooden banding held with large brass studs. Replacment top clamps added these were missing. Brass lock and Hasp. Shellac with Bri Wax polish finish. Two working side catches. Up for sale is this beautiful antique dome top steamer trunk with ornate embossed metal and a working key. It measures 32" long by 18" wide and 21" tall. The exterior of this trunk was cleaned. The wood slats sanded, stained with minwax"golden oak" then the entire trunk was sealed with spar urethane. The interior lining was removed then the wood was sanded and stained with minwax"golden oak" as well. This trunk shows some wear from age and has some minor flaws i.e. one of the hinges is broke(does not effect the stability, very functional) overall the trunk is in very good condition. Beautiful Victorian Era Steamer Trunk. This trunk has been conserved or restored. Has had quite a bit of work, but the only thing that has been added& isn't original to this trunk are the leather handles. Everthing else is original to this particular trunk The trunk had 3 coats of paint that were removed from its exterior. Afterward it is was polished witha metal polish, there is still some patina, after 100 plus years it is almost impossible to remove all of that with just cloth and polish lol The paint was light green and off white. In certain places small remnants of the paint may remain. Without damaging the surface of the trunk it is very hard to totally get it all off. Also I think it adds to the already very rustic beautiful charm of the trunk. It is important to note the color variations you see in the pics on the metal ARE ... moreNOT paint. This is actually a pattern in the metal. One the end pieces I think it is patina and discoloration. But the middle piece on lower portion, and next to end pieces on top, I think it is the way the metal is made. It is very beautiful, and seems purposefully placed There is very gorgeous and unique hardware. There are little flower or star shaped medallions on top of trunk and on the front of trunk The wooden slats have been sanded stained and finished The handles were replaced with strips of 100% leather Interior of trunk was stripped of all inside paper. It has been left natural wood so new owner may leave as is. Or finish out to suit their needs best. One of the most unique things about this trunk is the locks on either end of trunk. And latch in center Normally one most I have seen. There will a latch on both ends, and a lock in center, this one is reversed! I am unsure of the the exact origin on these interesting early handles but I believe the came from an old steamer trunk or chest. Handles are approx. 5 1/2" x 3 1/2" in size. Mounting plates are approx. 5 1/2" x 2 1/2" in size. They are made of pressed steel with ornate pearl strand pattern design. Handles are in good solid condition and operate well. Refinished Dome Top Victorian Steamer Trunk Antique Chest With Straps & Buckles
Nice Refinished Antique Dome Top Steamer Trunk With Straps& Buckles Here is a nice refinished arch top or dome top steamer trunk from around the late 1800's to 1900 or so. We purchased this one already finished by someone else. We didn't really like the way it was when we received it. So we went ahead and finished it out a little bit better. This one has a combination of fancy embossed metal which is in a leaf and flower pattern on the top and front. The rest of the trunk must have been paper which they removed to expose the wood on the sides and the back. The wood appears to be pine and the outer slat boards look like poplar. Here are the trunk's dimensions: from left to right across the front is 32 inches. From floor to top is approximately 20 inches, and from front edge to back edge is 17 inches. The front latches were ... moremissing on this trunk, so we put a pair of Amish made leather straps with roller buckles up the front and across the top where the latches should have been. These straps with buckles hold the top secure to it's base when buckled as would the latches if they were there. The wood appears to be finished with a couple of coats of clearcoat. The metal has been painted in a couple of different colors. The fancy metal looks like a silverish color while the cap metal on the slat boards have been done up in gold leaf, and the flat metal is in black. The lock looks to be original. It is not in working condition because the top part that goes into the lock mechanism is missing the engagement part. The lock probably works, but it will not fasten to anything since the top part is missing that engagement part. We did receive this trunk pretty much the way it is and simply gave it some improvement. The side handles were not on it, so we have put on a pair of Amish made black leather stitched straps. Going to the interior, the paper lining has been removed and the wood has been finished with two coats of polyurethane. The bottom has been covered over with a new bottom which has been fastened

Here is an adorable miniature steamer trunk from the Bassett company. It opens and closes with two working side latches and one center latch. Measures 10" long by 6" wide by 6.5" tall. There is no key and the side leather handles are gone. Which is very common for these old trunks. Interior paper is intact but torn on the inside of the lid. There is wood underneath the paper. An old original fab steamer chest with lots of metal banding and end cap brackets. It is a original steamer chest from circa 1900's and would have been used on the ships of old Metal handles at each side. Front locks and clasps there is no longer any key for the middle lock long gone. Four hardwood slats on top with one at the front and back also. It is approx. half the height of the standard ones. So would be great for any room in the house to make a great look and not take up to much space. The chest has a nice shiny bri wax finish. The box was fully treated for woodworm to be safe and secure from any little beasties several weeks ago Inside has the original fish tail hinges and it still has its lock and upper keep in the lid but the key is long gone lost over time The chest has a nice shiny bri wax finish. Here we have a wonderful antique Victorian wooden steamer trunk or chest in used antique vintage condition. Probably from the late 1800's. Gorgeous warm wood tone. Made of metal and wood. Very beautiful. Wooden strips on the top and sides. This is a really nice old trunk. Has leather straps on the ends. Wooden interior. Interior covered on a patterned fabric but can be removed if you wish. Trunk measures about 33 inches long by 21 1/2 inches tall by 19 1/2 inches deep. Hardware is original. This would look gorgeous in a cabin. Farmhouse, ranch, or country decor. Really anywhere you place it, it will look really warm and cozy. Would make a wonderful coffee table. When it was stripped from the old canvas, dirt and paper the chest was in fantastic condition and has been treated waxed and polished to a now immaculate clean handsome piece of furniture with lots of storage space. It smells lovely and fresh from the natural refined beeswax that has nourished and will continue to protect the wood for many years to come. The beech bands complimenting the pine and metal work which has been coated also, to protect and last another hundred years plus. The lock is Legge and is in perfect order.I always intended to obtain a key, as it is all it needs.
