Antique Black Steamer Travel Trunk Leather Handles on Each End Front Latch NEAT!
This auction is for a vintage steamer trunk. I think this is the right wording for them. This is black, hinged lid, leather strap handles on each end. Two clasp closures on the front, the main lock is missing the bottom as you can see in the photos. The inside is papered. This is worn and discolored, it is the original. There is a wooden bar on each side where the shelf would sit, but is no longer with the trunk. Measures right at 36" wide, 21.5" deep and 24" tall. It has weight to it! Due to the size and weight it will be available for pick up only. This is a nice piece of history. Coming from a smoke free home. Good luck and happy bidding!

You are bidding on/ buying an ANTIQUE 1920s GENUINE COWHIDE LEATHER STEAMER TRUNK. I come across quite a few suitcases. I have yet to see one in as good a shape. And as unique a design as this one. It is the size of a small suitcase. But shaped like a trunk. It measures 24 inches across the front 13 1/2 inches deep, and 10 inches tall. It has steamer style straps. Silver accent hardware, all original. It almost has a walrus or elephant texture to the hide of the material. You can see the patterning up close in photo 12. The top part of this piece expands up about 3 inches if you fill it to do so. If not it sits flat. Photos 8& 11. There are 2 straps around the case. In great condition. This suitcase is in great vintage condition. There is some wear on the edges but no splits or tears. The straps are intact inside and out. It is clean inside with several pockets and two large compartments. It measures about 24. wide and 15" tall and 8" deep. It is a thick split cowhide with lots of texture. The case is hard shelled cover in Black leather with corner guards, two leather straps at run all the way around the case. There are 3 latches two on the outside that are marked Shwayder and the lock latch is marked as well it looks to say Shwayder as well. All latches are in good working order, however, I do not have the key to the lock. The inside as a mauve pattern paper covering with two leather straps on the top and bottom. There is also a divider that the straps run through. This case does show some wear but very little for its year. This auction is for a pretty cool storage case. It was used to store hats as this case still has the center snap-on insert in the middle which is rare. It is black in color and has the look of leather however I think that the leather is a faux leather except for the handle which I believe is real leather. It has a good look to it. Could be used for many purposes. It is solid and can hold some weight. It has a Corbin lock and a blue and gold floral pattern interior. A pretty neat old piece. 1940'sOshkosh Steamer trunk/closet Black Leather super nice,Must see will ship!
You are bidding on one of the nicest Antique Steamer travel trunk made by The Oshkosh Trunk Company from around 1914. The Trunk is in great shape for its age. It's almost perfect inside. It's made of wood but is covered with beautiful black leather on the outside with all heavy duty brass corner guards, latches,and rivets. The inside of the trunk is all lined with a light blue soft fabric, all the fabric is in great shape and is not peeling anywhere. The trunk is made to be stood up and used like a closet one side opens and closes then you turn the lock handle it locks the other side and opens the main part of the trunk for hanging clothes there are some of the hangers there and the top of the clothes hanging side opens as well. You can see in one side of the trunk there is a crack in the wood where the lip of the lid goes over to ... moreclose and lock. It still works fine. If you lay the trunk down on it bottom the long way there is some tear in the leather. Also because they do not have the key someone grind off the rivet to open it. You can very easily put the latch back on the square and drill and tap the brass to put a bolt in it and have a key made so you can unlock it right and turn the latch like a handle the way it's design to work. This trunk is beautiful for the age there no mold inside or outside. It does have a light moth ball smell inside. but it would clean up very easy. If you were using this trunk at the end of your bed or for a coffee table you would never see the rip in the leather on the bottom. We did not clean this trunk because we did not want to hurt it's value. We will ship this trunk anywhere in the USA. But it very heavy. I would say at least 100 pounds. Up for Auction this antique Samson suitcase by Shwayder Brothers this company is now Samsonite. It is black with an interior that is tanish color. The inside paper lining(looks a bit like old wall paper) is cracked or torn all the around on the top and bottom edges of the case. The outside belts go all the way around the case. The straps are cracked(see pictures) not quite broken. The metal corners are scuffed and the paint is scraped from use and age. I believe it is from the early 1900's, there is a tag on it the says Greyhound lines Cleveland Ohio. My grandfather's family came from Ohio when he was a young boy, I am not sure when. Antique Vintage Round Black Leather/Vinyl Suitcase Hat Box Train Case with Key
This is a beautiful early 1900’s antique round black Leather/Vinyl Suitcase Hat Box Train Case. This piece has been around. It does show some wear. The surface has some scuffs and scrapes and on one side it looks a sticker has been removed. The body and handle are very solid. The hardware is all original including the Excelsior lock which still works and has the key. One pin has been replaced on the upper part of the lock. The repair shows on the inside of the lid. The liner is in good condition with some stains. The elastic in the upper pouch is still very tight. One of the leather straps to keep the lid from falling back when open is broken but the other is still in very good shape. The Dimensions are 17 1/2" x 16" x 8 3/4" Please look at the pictures. BLACK STEAMER TRUNK ~ Antique Brass Hardware, leather handle, nautical drawings
LARGE STEAMER TRUNK- CHEST Antique chest. Storage trunk from the early 1900s. Unique, black, with nautical renderings on top sections, original hardware and leather straps(one side has broken strap, which I always thought gave it character) Belonged to my grandfather. I've always used it for storage; photo albums and winter gear, gloves, hats, scarves, snow pants, etc. Dimensions are 32 3/8" wide by 20 3/8" deep by 23" tall. What I love about this. I've never seen another like it; I've seen painted trunks. And black trunks.but never another with unique images like this one. Colors are pretty. Has always been in a non smoking, clean home(mine, or my grandfathers) Please note: I had an eBay store and perfect rating for years. Over hundreds of transactions.
