The drawers lock into place and are lined, wood on the outside. The top drawer has a key lock(not included) When you pull out the drawer, there is a leaver that you turn which unlocks the other drawers. The wardrobe side includes the hangers shown(5) and the top opens to ease in getting the hangers out. the metal slats for the hangers to slide out as well, however the right one is hard to push. Has a fabric cloth to cover the clothes from the drawers. This is a large heavy truck, but in pretty good shape for it's age and the number of trips it has taken over the years. The top(picture 6) shows the rip in the fabric. Has two tags on it. First is the Hartman Trunk co, Racine, WI. The other is on the corner and says Wasseman's, Grand Rapids, MI. That means this trunk went from the United States to Germany, then to Scotland and back to the United States. Measures 40" tall, 22" wide and 21 1/2" deep. Shipping is quoted with UPS. What's so cool about this ... morewardrobe trunk is that it has features that so many of the other wardrobes you see don't have or they're missing! Also. It was restored approximately 20 years ago and is still in good condition. You may want to repaint or reline the trunk to make it your own, but you don't have to worry about a bunch of repairs because they were already done. For example, the metal trim was not brass and so it was painted. It could easily be repainted to suit your needs. As for the unique, original features, the trunk includes: a wooden ironing board, metal bracket for iron, a pull out holder for the ironing board, 6 wooden hangers- one of which holds a cloth laundry bag, a removeable wooden box(holds shoes.lap desk? and 4 drawers- among other features. It's missing the outside lock and original leather handle(handle was replaced with a strong leather buckled handle) The key to the inside lock, the narrow flat bar that slides in front of the drawers, and some material behind the drawers. Some of the material is faded. The hinges and drawer pulls are secure and in functional condition except one outside latch(this doesn't prevent the trunk from closing tightly. The metal rods that hold the hangers extend out to hold the ironing board and are easy to slide in/out. All the drawers are lined with material and are in good/clean condition. The top drawer is divided into three compartments and is in good condition. The two middle drawers are in good condition too. The bottom drawer is deep and has a shallow pull out tray which exposes a cool feature. The feature is a sphere shaped cloth form that straps to the side of the drawer with leather. The original leather is still in place and functional. But somewhat brittle. My guess is that a hat could be pinned to the form to keep it safe for travel. The trunk has multiple brittle stickers(less as time goes on) from Germany

The date on the metal corners is Nov 1867 so I believe it dates ... moreto sometime around that period. It's 20 inches long. 12 inches wide and 11 inches tall. You see the condition, she definitely has character. The bare wood was once covered with a heavy type decorative paper, most of that is gone but you see some remnants of that in places. The original label was found in the trunk. It belonged to a gentleman in Escanaba Michigan. Maybe you can reincorporate the label back into a repurpose project(maybe lacqure it onto the top side? There is leather and metal construction incorporated into this little trunk. The leather handle is broken and the leather straps are gone with just some of their remnants being in place. Up for bid is this awesome vintage steamer trunk. This amazing wardrobe-style chest normally stands upright on rollers and is pulled by a single handle on the top. The trunk is intended to travel on its wheels. But it also sits nicely on its side if desired. Once opened. The trunk reveals four drawers of varying sizes on one side. On the other side, a drape hangs over a small closet. A covered small suitcase box holds wooden hangers to be used in the closet- it fits into place to make a storage space at the bottom of the closet area. The top of the closet opens up. See pics. The interior of the trunk is all nicely lined. Including the drawers. The interior hardware and hangers are intact. There is a lock on the top drawer, I do not see a key for it, although the exterior lock on the trunk comes with its key. Based on the information on the ... moreexterior lock hardware. Early Vintage Travelling Storage Wardrobe Steamer Trunk dates back to about 1910. 42" tall X 23" wide and deep. Cured genuine leather stretched over a sold wood frame. Yellow in color with a nice patina. All edges and corners protected by brass plating. There are 6 functioning ball type wheels on the bottom which allows the user to roll the trunk while flat. And an additional 2 functioning wheels allow the user to roll the trunk while standing on end and towing with the leather handle(picture shown) All metal edges do have some wear but this gives the trunk a great look. The locking hardware is functioning. And is stamped EXCELSIOR#4230 Made in Stamford, Conn USA. Excelsior began making this lock in 1910. The locking mechanism is controlled by the exterior latch which in turn stabilizes the drawers for travel(shown in picture) There ... moreis 1 key from the Independent Lock Co#1076 Made in Fitchburg. Mass USA(valued at $18.95 on Ebay) The interior fabric is a copper monochromatic damask which is in good shape considering the age(picture shown) Once settled at their destination. The traveller may lift the padded top portion of the trunk up using the attached hinges to reveal and unlock the hanging garments(see main picture) There are 5 drawers which feature the same copper damask on their fronts. And brown lining within(picture shown) The top drawer is missing the lock, the bottom drawer is missing the handle, and both drawers do have a little water damage. There are 4 original hangers(1 shirt. 1 pant, and 2 coat) These hangers rest upon a chrome bar which extends outward 18" to allow the traveller to peruse their garments and avoid wrinkling. The hanging garments are protected from dust during travel by a copper damask curtain that snaps closed at the bottom. Approximated weight is 85 lbs. This is a totally retro early 20th century wardrobe trunk. Which makes a perfect coffee table. It measures about 40" x 22" including the handle) and is about 15" deep when closed. The manufacturer's diamond-shaped tag says"Dependo, Petersburg, Virginia" in the center; Independent Trunk& Bag Company" across the top; and"Dependable Luggage" along the bottom. It is in used and worn condition. Both inside and out, and, more specifically, it has the initials"H.M.M. in red paint on one end; the carrying handle is missing(from the same end) and the lock has been busted off. This is a fantastic vintage antique skinny half wardrobe trunk made by Hartmann. I believe it dates to the 1920's-30s. The truck can be unmatched to form two separate sections. I am selling this Louis Vuitton wardrobe trunk for my in laws. It is located in Traverse City MI. We would prefer to have it picked up there. I was told this trunk dates to the early 1900s. This trunk measures approximately 44" tall when standing vertically. When the trunk is closed. This Hartmann wardrobe trunk is in great original condition given it's age(believed to be 1930's) This is a large trunk- overall dimensions are 22" x 22" x 41" These are the things I am amazed at regarding the trunk: 1. Everything is there including TWO original keys to open the trunk and TWO original keys for the drawer locking mechanism. 2. Original labels in excellent condition 3. Under the bottom drawer is the original patent label- looks brand new still 4. No missing rivets 5. All hinges are original and solid 6. The trunk closes completely flush all the way around 7. USA Excelsior 53230 Wardrobe Trunk PATD Dec 18. 1923 Wardrobe Trunk History: Wardrobe trunks are basically like a mobile clothes dresser and closet. These typically have several drawers on one side and clothes hangers on the other side but there are several fancier models. These didn't really come on the scene until about 1900 and then really became very popular from the 1910's to the early 1950's. The MW trunk catalog of 1897 didn't even contain wardrobe trunks but had all other styles. Then after about 1910 all the trunk companies made or carried wardrobe trunks. Most were made between about 1920 and the 1940's by a couple dozen large companies in the U.S. Several lock companies make trunk locks for these. But they didn't make the trunks. There were many models of wardrobe trunks with different features including ... moreexpanding clothes racks. Hat cases, ironing boards and irons. Fold down desks, shoe cases, clothes bags, lights, etc. Some were fairly simple but others were quite elaborate with many drawers and compartments. Fold up tops, mirrors. And revolving stands. Nearly all wardrobe trunks came complete with wooden clothes hangers and tie down straps inside. They ranged in size from the smaller compact models to huge trunks the size of phone booths or larger. I wonder how many people it took to move some of these enormous trunks, especially loaded with clothes! researchers claim more patents were issued for wardrobe trunks than any other trunk style. Companies all over the United States and also in Europe made wardrobe trunks. Some wardrobe trunks have labels from the maker. Now and then, I still see a wardrobe trunk with no maker's label on it. This could be because these trunks were often made to be sold by furniture and retail luggage stores who sometimes put their own labels on them. This is a nice old wardrobe steam trunk. There are no dents on any of the exterior metal straps. Brass, etc. Leather has some age cracks and is a beige color. The only interior concerns are that the laundry/wardrobe bag is missing, half of hinge on shoe box missing, some separation on lower drawer(just needs a staple or two, which I'd prefer to let buyer do, as I don't want to ruin any patina) Interior has some water damage a some small tears in fabric, but in really good shape for it's age, just needs a little clean up. Incredible opportunity to own a piece of history- antique steamer wardrobe trunk in very good condition considering its age. It has traveled the world and although many of the vintage stickers have faded as you can see in one photo there is one that shows a date of 1936. The trunk measures 22.25 x 22 x 40 inches on the outside. As you can see in the photos it opens standing up and has one side with a hanging wardrobe(total 6 hangers. 3 for pants and 3 for shirts or jackets) The other side is a chest of four drawers in varied sizes- the top has a divided compartment. The trunk closes and opens well, the lock is separate and has been stored in one of the drawers as you can see in the last photo. The trunk is quite heavy and is available as local pickup only. Great Antique HARTMANN suitcase. Trunk, chest. With KEY! Brown with riveted metal trim. This very old suitcase is brown in color with light brown metal trim. The metal trim is riveted all around. The handle is brown leather. And it's hardware brass. Suitcase includes it's original key! All latches still close and lock easily though the right side lock could use a slight adjustment. The chest also has all its original straps and hardware on inside. Trunk measures approx. 25 in. from side to side. 18 in. From front to back and 8 in. tall. Suit case inside is 4 1/4 in. deep. The item weighs just under 12 pounds. The inside of this lovely old trunk is actually pretty clean considering its age. This trunk was bought about 20 years ago from someone who stated it had been purchased from an Estate. They were told that it had belonged to a World War II Nurse who took it overseas with her during her service time. We have no idea who this woman was other than the initials on the trunk"M.A.B. How great if a family member saw this ad and brought it home! This charming old wardrobe trunk is a LAUB'S LUGGAGE Baggage Builders brand. Manufactured in Louisville, Kentucky. It is in good condition inside and outside, with obvious age related scars but no major flaws. It can be used flat for a coffee table or upright to store items in the four drawers of various sizes. It also still has the original wooden clothing hangers on the left side and looks awesome decorating an old-fashioned bedroom with vintage style clothes hanging inside. ... moreThe outside is black in color and the inside is a medium blue. The long side is flat but when standing upright. The top end has a slight curvature design& this end also opens for easy access to the clothing hangers. The Laub Brothers were trunk makers from around the 1860's through probably the 1920's and possibly as late as the 1930's. They had two stores located at 422 West Jefferson Street and 516 South Fourth Street in Louisville. Kentucky. I believe this particular trunk was probably manufactured towards the end of this company's history so early 1900's. A 1926 advertisement read"Buy Laub's trunks first because Laub's trunks last" they certainly did! The trunk opens/closes well& is quite sturdy- has been stored in a dry. Safe& clean environment since we've had it. Size is approximately 40" on the longest side& the other two dimensions are approximately 22" each. There is no key& the lock would need repair. BOUND TO WEAR wardrobe trunk by Bankhardt Baggage. Cincinnati, Ohio. Heavy! Approx size is 39 inches tall x21 inches wide by 25 inches deep. It has five drawers, three anchor hangers and 5 other hangers(all hangers are wood) This trunk was advertised in the CINCINNATI ENQUIRER on Sunday, June 20, 1915. I also found it advertised periodically for the next several years in the same paper on-line. There is NO KEY to this trunk. It has rusty areas on hinges, etc. The leather is cracked and torn. They were told that it had belonged to a World War II Nurse who took it overseas with her during her service time. We have no idea who this woman was other than the initials on the trunk"M.A.B. Its heavy& well made, in very good condition inside& outside, with obvious age related scars, but no major flaws. Experts state these style trunks have seen a popularity surge in the past few years. While it was originally designed to stand on end for easy access. It can be used flat for a coffee table ... moreor upright to store items in the four drawers of various sizes. It also still has the original wooden clothing hangers on the left side(in excellent condition) on an extending chrome rod& it even has the extra cover that snaps over the lower section for shoes&or valuables. One of the hangers looks like a boat anchor& is sometimes referred to as a"Princess" hanger. But both men& women used these because their purpose was to keep something like a jacket in place during transit, as to prevent wrinkles. Because these trunks look awesome opened. In an old-fashioned bedroom with vintage style clothes hanging inside, they are mostly used for decorative purposes; however they also offer useful storage space since they're very roomy. Antique John T. Barnum Dome Top Wardrobe Trunk Vintage Rare 1906
We have here a nice and rare antique wardrobe trunk. This trunk was manufactured by the Barnum Trunk Company in 1906(no affiliation to P.T. Barnum) The trunk is what you would have seen your typical wealthy traveler use at the turn of the twentieth century. A little research on the internet yielded the following information: John T. Barnum was born in Rochester. NY on March 5, 1857. He graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic in Troy. NY in 1879 He moved to Minneapolis. MN in 1880 and began working for D.D. Whitney, founder of the original trunk factory in 1872 In September 1880. Barnum and a colleague, Mr. Goodrich, took possession of the company from the ailing Mr. Whitney The Barnum Trunk Company was incorporated in 1905 This trunk is a dome top trunk measuring 53" high. 22" wide and 21" deep. It has a swing out drawer section ... moreand a roll out clothes rack. Both the trunk and the rack have the Barnum plaques on them from Minneapolis, MN. On the bottom of the rack the stamp reads Pat. Feb. 20, 1906. I have 33 photos of the trunk, if you are interested in seeing them send me a message with your email and I can send the rest of them. The photos show the condition of the trunk. At some point, the trunk was painted the oil-based blue shown in the photos. There are some original hangers and straps on in the trunk also. The only major problems I see are the missing leather handles, one wooded wheel is missing from the roll out rack and the key is missing. Keep in mind this item is over 100 years old, and it likely did a lot of travelling, so it's not perfect. I'm basing my price on a couple different Barnum trunks I've seen sell on the internet. 1930s Antique Vintage Wardrobe Steamer Trunk Travel Chest
Incredible antique steamer wardrobe trunk in very good condition considering its age. Many of the vintage stickers have faded but you can see in one photo there is one that shows a date of 1936. The trunk measures 22.25 x 22 x 40 inches on the outside. Opens standing up and has one side with a hanging wardrobe(total 6 hangers. 3 for pants and 3 for shirts or jackets) The other side is a chest of four drawers in varied sizes- the top has a divided compartment. The trunk closes and opens well, the lock is separate and has been stored in one of the drawers The trunk is quite heavy and is available as local pickup only. Up for auction is a early 1900's steam trunk luggage made by Winship Migrator. This trunk is made of solid wood and leather. The hardware does have light surface rust as this is easy to clean with steel wool. The leather is scratched. Cracking, and coming up in some places. One of the 2 handles are broke. all the latches work and this does come with three origional wooden hangers. One of the hangers does have a chip in the wood. This is a real time treasured piece! The inside does looks great. It may have a light stain or two and some slight dust as this is normal for it's age of around 100 years old. It measures 29.5 x 9 x 20.5 inches.

This 1920's Wheary Trunk cushioned top wardrobe chest is in pretty good condition. As you can see in the photos. The exterior, and all the hardware, is in solid structural and good cosmetic condition. The interior is better than most trunks of this age, with the fabric intact, no mold, or damage. The fold out drawer on the right side does seem to be missing(what I assume would be) the lift out tray. Two original wood hangers are included. If you are looking for decorative storage. Or a trunk to repurpose it into some kind of bar or coffee table, this is the trunk you are looking for. I have NO KEY for this trunk.
