This solid wood(pine) carpenter's trunk was made by a carpenter sometime in the 20th century. Carpenters would fashion themselves these trunks with which they could carry their tools. The interior of the lid has pieces to hold a hand saw. The exterior is painted a dark. Hunter green with expected wear and tear and some white paint splatter. The interior is unpainted. An iron latch suitable for a padlock holds the trunk shut. Simple, iron handles on the sides make carrying easy. The trunk measures 36-3/4" wide x 12" high x 13" deep. It weighs about 35lbs. The present example is a fine work that would originally have been prohibitively expensive, crafted of thick ... morecowhide leather covering the entire surface of the exterior and interior of the trunk, the exterior surfaces still fully original with a fine worn and distressed appeal. The straps are replaced, along with the handles along the sides, allowing this to be a more functional and sturdy piece. It is remarkably heavy, but with the replaced handles it is not a difficult piece to move around the home. It rests over small caster wheels, allowing it to roll if necessary. If you open the lid. The fitted interior is a complex formation of interlocking boxes and compartments, still retained though overall in rough visual condition. The opened lid has it's own compartment, held in with two brass slides that lock in on the right and left- this flips down for a large storage box. On top of this is an old torn label, presumably from the retailer of the trunk, noting" Baier" as the establishment at 26 South Second Street in St. Louis. Antique Milners Deed Box Metal Safe With Lock Early 20th Century Shabby Chic Old
This is an old antique metal deed/ money box by the well known safe manufacturer Milners. It is in totally original condition which gives it a great shabby chic worn appearance. It could be left as is or maybe fully restored(it has been very carefully cleaned inside and out) There is only surface rust and the remenents of black paint with gold lined details along the edges. There are some very worn gold letters on the front near the lock. There is no key included. However one could be made by a keymaker. The handle on top has Milners pressed into it. Antique Goyard Early 20th Century Trunk with Original Trays
LOCATED IN KELLER(FORT WORTH) TX* For sale is a early 1900's Goyard trunk that is still in relatively good condition for its age. The brass has held up well. Along with the wood slats that cover the exterior. The Goyard monogram and fabric have held up nicely, although there are some smaller tears to the fabric on the rear, as well as the leather on the corners as can be seen in the pictures. The front displays very nicely, and has great overall patina. The trunk's dimensions are 35.5" x 20.5" x 22" and as metal bottom with a set of wheels. The inside of the lid has a water stain that may or may not be able to be cleaned. I am not an expert on these things, so I'm selling as is. A classic. Large Louis Vuitton monogram-canvas steamer trunk ~ Serial Number 107118. This trunk has resided in California until recently. We are retiring. And de-acquisitioning some of our'old friends. The trunk has been treasured by three generations in our family. It measures 43.5” x 22.5” x 23” The structural condition is excellent. There is wear as can be expected given the trunk’s age and historical use as luggage. All the authenticating LV markings on brass fittings are visible. All the brass fittings(the handles on each end and front clasps) are in good. Working condition. Some exterior leather has a fair amount of wear. There is(old) staining in the fabric on the inside lid of the trunk, and some staining on the inserts. No mold or bad smells. The trunk is just‘old. It has resided in a smoke-free home.
