This is a very unique(and adjustable) lamp and has"Hubbell" on the switch(see ... morepicture) This item stands about 7" tall without the shade or bulb and around 10" with bulb and shade(came with a 25 watt bulb which is not included) and weighs a bit under two pounds. To my surprise this lamp is adjustable in heigh t. The metal base unscrews to make this lamp go from 7" up to about 9 1/2" 12 1/2" with shade and bulb) This piece shows great patina throughout and is being left to next buyer as to how much cleaning is to be done. The wiring on this lamp is definitely older and may need to be redone. As you can see from one of the pictures it does(or at least did) work when I carefully and cautiously tested it! I cannot guarantee that it will continue to work without rewiring. That being said I am including pictures to show the plug and socket wires. Some fraying of the cloth cover is evident at both ends. I would rather err on the side of being cautious but the rest of the cord seems to be in fairly good shape. No tape jobs or cuts. The"HUBBELL" switch seems to turn nicely and has great on/ off clicks. The shade(which is non metallic) sort of snaps around the bulb. Pictures will show this mechanism on the inside of the shade. I am not sure of the age of this lamp. But I knew it was something different and unique when I saw and obtained it. Hopefully you will too and give it a good home. The top has been revarnished for durability. The rest of the finish is in very fine condition, waxed and buffed, only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its luster. I believe it is all original including leather handles.Paper label inside and all outside trim. The locks on both sides of the trunk have a latch that locks the top down and both work. The colors of the oak slats are a little darker due to their originality and go great with the goldish-yellow tin sections. It measures approx 32 1/4 in wide by 17 deep and 19 in tall. Hello Folks. Today we have a antique Oak or Chestnut Machinist Chest with lots of brass details. This is the most outstanding chest I have ever seen in my 35 years of collecting. Superb Construction using round head brass screws all around on the piece, as well as brass drop finger pulls on all 3 drawers. This chest also has drop carry handles, brass corner guards on top and bottom corners, and a brass lock( no key found) and brass hinges. It has the appearance of a miniature carpenter's chest, it measures 20" long x 11 1/2" deep x 11 1/2" high. Made of all Oak or Chestnut wood, except for the bottoms of the drawers& the bottom of the chest itself, which are pine. Great dovetail design the corners of the chest's top. This is a beautiful antique chest, that does need some minor restoration. The raised panel on the ... moretop center of the chest has split, the top drawer has a short split on each end, one side panel has split, and one side drop handle has a small brass piece broken out. Gorgeous Victorian era antique dome-top steamer trunk. The metal sides and top of this chest are embossed with an intricate floral design that has been painted a wonderful gold color. Contrasting black metal covers the corners and edges and is decorated with braces at the corners and where it meets the oak braces. Two heavy leather handles on either side are worn and broken. Giving the piece an authentic aged fee. The metal lock and fasteners are impressed with decorative designs with an arts& crafts flair. Two of the oak slats have writing on them, which is difficult to make out. This piece is both decorative and practical for storage. It most likely dates from the late 1800's or early 1900's. Overall. It was made in Holland around 1900. It is different from most coffers in that the top does not open. Instead it has two small drawers and two cabinet doors that open on the front to give access to the storage space within. This is very unique and interesting! The hand carvings that adorn the entire front of the coffer are intricate and lovely. The four main panels appear ... moreto be birds and all the surroundings are carvings of flora. A nice smooth bottom moulding. Simple top, and traditional Dutch bun feet help to balance this carving. The smoother accents keep the coffer from looking gaudy. Antique Oak Ice Box, Beautiful and Unusual, Made in Wisconsin
This is a great old oak ice box that was made sometime around the turn of the century by Sanitary Refrigerator Co. In Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. I have had it in my living room for more than twenty years, and it really looks very nice. This is oak wood, built up in traditional practices, and there is no modern"wood" paneling made of chip board or anything like that. This is an antique, although originally a working ice box in thedays before mechanical refrigeration. The block of ice went into the top bin through the side loading door. I'd guess this was made between 1895 and 1910, perhaps. The wood is what I often see referred to as"honey oak" in color, a very warm medium oak color. What is great about this ice box is that, not only does it have all of the original nickeled hardware,it has a side-loading door for the ... moreblock of ice- this is not a top-loader. That means that this makes a very attractive piece of furniture which can be put in a living room, den, or kitchen and a lamp and other decorative items can be put on top. This ice box also has the original manufacturer's label.A metal plate. I have not touched the galvanized interior. The interior is as I found it; there is a piece of plywood laid into the bottom compartment(not attached) and there is some shelf paper applied inside. The galvanizing all looks to be in good condition. I have owned this for more than thirty years and paid a very hefty price for it when I bought it given the very unusual character. Antique Early 1900s Small Wood Steamer Trunk Red, Black w/ Gold Oak - NICE!
This is a beautiful wood steamer trunk from the early 1900s. This trunk is black metal with very pretty red and silver accents. It has unusual wheels on the bottom. I have not seen these on a steamer trunk. It measures 17-1/2" tall, 26" wide and it is 14" deep. It is in excellent clean condition. On inspection the handle straps are missing on the sides and the locking center latch is also missing. It shows normal scuffing and bumps as you would expect but no abuse. The trunk had mothballs stored in it and there is a lingering scent. I have never dealt with moth balls and I did not try to deodorize it but I think it will dissipate over time. The trunk is solid and sturdy. It comes from a non smoking and pet free home. It is clean and ready to use. Shipping includes insurance and delivery confirmation.
