PLEASE READ SHIPPING INFORMATION BEFORE YOU EMAIL OR PLACE A BID. Beautiful Hooker two-drawer nightsand in the Mainline style. It is not stamped"Mainline" but it is clearly from that line. It looks like a new piece of furniture except for two correctable problemss that you can find in the photos and I will do my best to describe. There is a mar on the top surface of the nightstand. Likely from a wet glass or cup. There is some slight roughness over the area of the mark but the wood itself is not raised and does not feel swollen or waterlogged. It could be covered by a table scarf or likely repaired fairly easily. On the front of the bottom drawer, there are two small chips of brown paint missing inside the metal drawer pull. This can be corrected with matching oil paint. Other than these two problems, it is like a new piece of furniture. ... moreThe insides of the drawers and the drawer housings are clean and in perfect condition. They look, feel, and smell as if they have never been used. All joints are tight. There is no wobbliness or unsteadiness. Please take a look at the photos and email with any questions. The front legs have a brass-colored metal cover at each base. There are also a few very light surface mars, on the sides of the piece, visible in the photos, easily corrected with a good polishing. Dimensions: The nightstand measures approximately 20 inches wide by 15 inches deep by 26 inches tall. Each drawer has an inside height of approximately 6 inches. Having just been restored by my very experienced restorer(50 years) it is consequently in excellent condition and is ready for immediate use in the home or for retailing in a prestigious showroom or fair. The second thing that strikes you about this chest is the colour and patination. The cabinetmaker that made this stand chose some very good quality timbers for the job. This has resulted all these years later in a stand with a gorgeous soft rich warm colour and patination that can only be attained by mahogany of this age and quality. Thirdly are the proportions. The design of this chest is just right and the chest benefits from having a good balance. Meaning that it“sits” well with a real“presence” Now we know everything on ebay is“fantastic” glorious” superb” brilliant” magnificent” greatest” resplendent” superior” etc etc but when we say this is a very good chest we mean it. This may be earlier than the Victorian era, I'm just guessing on 1875. The poplar drawers harken back to an 1840-ish desk I sold two weeks ago that had similar dovetailing at the corners as well as a chamfered fit of the drawer bot. I want to say this prob had a marble top originally. I have a piece of marble(in 4th pic) but it needs to be cut to fit and is not part of this auction. The pine board top is not fastened down. The door panels are loose and not fastened down. There is no key to the lock in the RH door. There is no bezel on the keyhole but the lock. Is in place in rear of door. Door hinges are set securely and work smoothly, Doors close as they ought without binding. Drawer works smoothly. All joints/joining of wood appears to be tight(except for the loose front door panels) The nightstand is solid and not wobbly(except. This auction is for a very nice and very pretty Older"Bow Front" Mahogany Lingerie Chest from Scotland. This is a very Nice and older four drawer mahogany chest. We see quite a few of these coming over from the UK. Most are nice chest. But they are not that old. A majority are from the late 40's to early 50's. This One Is Not One of Those. It has the older"wide cut dovetailed" joints on all of the drawers that most manufactures stopped using around 1920 to 1925 except for a few that continued to make very high quality items. It also has a very pretty"flamed mahogany" top. It also has a"double beveled edge" top. It has"fluting" on the front edges ans pretty bracket style feet. The top drawer locks and it comes with a key. It is a better made piece of furniture than most we see. Most ... morepeople now use them not only for a Lingerie chest. But also as a bedside cabinet or night stand due to their size and height. The top is 19 5/8" wide and about 16 1/2" deep and it's 27 7/8" tall overall. All of the drawers are 15 3/4" wide X 14" The top two drawers are 3 3/8" deep and the bottom two drawers are 4 1/4" deep. It stands about 5" off the floor on pretty bracket style feet. It has some blemishes to the finish(light or dark spots or marks) as well as some nicks. Dings and scratches on the sides but it's in overall good condition and ready to set out and use and enjoy. Under the top, you can see where it looks like some one tried to"spring" the lock, see pictures below. The pictures of the"flame mahogany" top do not due the unit justice. When looking at it head on, from different angles, it seems to shimmer, just like flames from a fire. In over 12 years of looking at this type of cabinet, I have seen one as nice as this one for it's age and affordable price. Neat Older Oak 3 Drawer Chest Bedside Stand With Barley Twist Legs From England
This auction is for a very neat and unique older three(3) drawer Oak Chest with Barley Twist Legs from England. It is a very neat size that could also be used as a bedside stand or chest. It has a pretty double beveled edge solid oak top with a neat backsplash across the back. It has recessed panel sides and stands off the floor on pretty Barley Twist Legs. It has side& back stretchers for added stability. It has"dovetailed joints" on all of the drawers. It's very stable& study and will hold up to everyday use for another 100 years or so. The top is 24 5/8" wide. 173/4" deep and it's 31" tall to the table top and 35 1/8" tall to the top of the backsplash. It stands about 10 3/4" off the floor. The top& middle drawer are both 18 7/8" X 14 1/2" and 4 1/4" deep. The bottom ... moredrawer is 18 7/8" X 14 1/4" and 5 1/4" deep. The top is in good to good condition without any burns or water rings/marks and has some very pretty oak wood grains showing through. It does have a gouge in the top near the backsplash. See pictures below. It's in overall good condition with a few dings, scrtches& blemishes but none that take anything away from this cabinet. The drawer pulls are not original to the chest. The backsplash will be removed for packaging& shipping and the buyer will have to re-attach it when unpackaged. There are 3 screws that hold the backsplash to the top. Wonderful Older English4 Drawer Bow Front Mahogany Lingerie Chest Bedside Chest
This auction is for an older four(4) drawer Lingerie type Bow Front chest or bedside chest from England. I see so many of this style coming over from England and a vast amout of them are not even 50 years old at best. Most have particle board/fiber board sides and top and although they may look nice. They are cheaply made and pasted off as older chest. This one IS NOT one of those kind. This one has a solid board top with a Flame Mahogany veneer over it and it's not the thin vacuum sealed veneer either. The sides and frame are all solid mahogany. The drawers have the older wide cut dove-tailed joints front& back with flame mahogany used on the drawer fronts. It's very well made and rock solid. It stands on four cute Queen Anne legs. It's been around for quite a while and has years& years of good service still in it. It ... morewould make a wonderful bedside piece as well as a stand alone piece against any wall. The top is 19 1/2" wide. 15 1/2" deep and it's 26" tall. All of the drawers are 17 1/2" wide X 15 1/2" Starting at the top and coming down, the drawers are 3" 3 3/8" 3 3/4" and 4 1/2" deep. Please keep in mind that this is an older chest and not a reproduction. It has some dings and scratches and blemishes to the finish. The flame mahogany finish on the top has crazing to the finish but I have throughly cleaned it and have applied Kramers Antique Restorer to it 5 seperate times. So the crazing has been put in to check. There are No water rings, No burns, No worm damage to this chest. It's in overall good condition and ready to set out and use and enjoy. Very Unique Vintage Dark Oak Chest Cabinet Bedside Table TV Stand from France
This auction is for a pretty and unique Oak Cabinet- Chest from France. This is a very unique chest with Great Eye Appeal. This is only my opinion. But I do believe this cabinet started of life as a"radio" cabinet with drawers for storage under the drop down door. I would not be suprised if it was made in England then shipped to France to be sold, but it came over from a French Exporter. It would have made a Great bedside cabinet. At first, I though it may have housed a record player but there no signs on the inside where sliders were attached to allow the player to be pullled out. It has a small round hole in the back panel where the power cord& spearker wires couild have been placed through. I do know this, it's a very well made cabinet and a lot heavier than you would think when you move it around. It has very pretty ... morerecessed panel drawer fronts with Jacobean trim. Both sides are recessed panels also. The top is solid oak and quite thick at that. It has super cute"bell feet" It would make neat bedside chest/tables as well as a stand alone chest. It would also make wonderful TV stands for the larger flat panel TV's. The drawers have the older very wide dovvetailed construction method used on them which is a real suprise to me because I thought this cabinet was only about 50 years old or so. The maker of this cabinet did a fine job, it's a very quality made piece. This one is in overall good to very good condition. It's s tructurally sound and should last for at least another hundred years or so. This chest is not new and it been around quite a while and have just got"off the boat" from France less than 3 weeks ago. The beveled edge top is 25" X 17 1/2" and about 26 1/8" tall overall. The body of the cabinet is 23 3/4" X 16 3/4" The drop down door and drawer fronts are all 20 3/4" wide. The drawers are 20 3/4" X 14 1/2" and about 4" deep. A WORD ABOUT THE CONDITION.
