These areas are on the right side edge of the top at the back on both the right and left sides, and one small area on the bottom drawer front next to the front leg. The dresser has a beautifully curved front design similar to a bombe style. The chest of drawers has reeded accents running down both sides at the front that continues onto all four feet, which are straight and tapering. Chest has very nice carved feet front and back with bowed top as well as bowed front. It measures approx 22" tall including swivel mirror. 12 1/4" wide at feet, and 9" deep at feet and has 2 small drawers at top and l larger drawer at bottom. Mirror is in fine condition. The small drawers each measure approx 5 3/8" x 4" x 2 1/2" deep. The one on the right has a smaller pull than the others but it appears to have been put on at the same time. Bottom drawer measures approx 9 3/8" x 8" x 3 3/8" deep. Bottom drawer has original lock(no key) and is lined with a silver color paper which appears to be very old. The dimensions are: Length- 19" Height- 14" Depth- 9" This is the wood box dimension, without adding for the hardware. The lock and latches are Eagle Lock Co. Terryville,CT. There is no key. The handle has to be the original leather covered one and the leather is not in good shape, but it certainly fits with the age of the chest. All of the latches, hinges and lock are complete and work fine, except for the missing key. For those of you who know more about this. I'm sure you can identify the brand from the drawer knobs and diamond shaped back plates on them. I'm sure it has been sanded and finished, probably at the time the leather was removed. Although the wood surface probably wasn't original, it looks like pine to me, and looks nice with the varnished surface. Please email me with any questions you might have. Antique Hand Painted Chest of Drawers in The French Style
This is a very nice hand painted french style serpentine front chest of drawers circa 1900. Not sure were it was made I bought it in England. But has a french look to it. The sides there has been a little veneer lifting but is pretty solid. There is also one escutching to the bottom drawer missing were the key would go. It has dovetail joints to the drawers they are solid wood and run fine. I think also at some time there has been 2 drop handles replaced but the back plates are original. Measurements 50 wide. 22 deep, 34 high.

Caswell Runyan was a Cedar Chest maker from Huntington. Indiana that later became Lane. This chest is from around the early 1940's. Has a rare unique feature in that the drawers swing out allowing access to the lower part. Good condition has minor cosmetic flaws to the outside of it. Also, I have no key, but all you do is twist the lock part and raise the lid. The inside is like new condition and smells strong of cedar. The original tags are still inside of it. On one tag it says that this chest contains more than the 3/4" of Red Tennessee Cedar than recommended by the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture. up for auction is a very rare one of a kind dresser secretary chest of drawers this one came from Grand Ma Webb(step Grandparent) was bought from a big name motel going out of business in late 20 early 30's is in the Mission Arts& Crafts style was made from a single cherry tree. I was able to count the rings on the top side it is 19 inch wide matches sides and drawer frts with an added 4.5 inch wide to make the top 23.5 inch wide the rings 11 to 14 per inch add up to 110 year old cherry tree crotch cut very rare and hard to make, the maker had to hand cut french dovetails in across the top to slide the drawer sides in to keep the top from warping up"that is why they alternate the grain on 4 inch planks" instead of the way this was made, he also had to bridge up the bottom of the top boards from warping down for the same ... morereason and double everything, quite a feat with only hand tools no nails no power tools back then just dovetails and mortise and tennon pined,everything except drawers and sliders were all made from the same cherry even the frame all matching all from same tree, I have only seen one dresser in a book that was made similar but all mahogany and it was around $80 grand, I would have never had a chance to own this but unfortunately the office caught fire,I understand befor the fire the dresser was insured for $13 grand, has no fire damage but some smoke damage in the 1960's in the 80's it was stored in the formans grove house till grannie passed and it was given to me bless her thank you grannie so much, this is a huge chest of drawers or dresser or? Mea 59 1/2 inch tall 70 1/2 inch wide 23 1/2 frt to back, approx 300 pounds and the weight is a guess I do use the freight estimator it is very close easy to use this is a good one the only name I could find other than all the bday sigs was a cherry vally in large script type lettering hidden away under the frt secretary door and the door has to be re-moved to actually see cherry vally and I am not sure it is a maker mark

Old Antique Odd Narrow Chest of 5 Drawers, Beaded Pine, Distressed Primitive
Here's an interesting old or antique piece of furniture we received recently with some estate items. This one is a bench made or homemade piece we're guessing is from the 1890's to 1920's. This is a very narrow 5 drawer chest of drawers. It is aged and distressed in appearance and in more recent years has been used to store stuff in a homeowner's workshop. It has a faded green color with a marked and paint spotted top as shown. Whoever made this had some skill with wood and the joints of the drawers and the tongue and groove joints on the boards on the back. And how the drawer bottoms were added show this knowledge being used when this was made. The sides are beaded pine panels. The wood knobs on the front are all different colors and note that at the bottom there were once two knobs or a handle used where there are two ... moredrill holes and one knob looks off center in it's hole. For those who enjoy the look of antique, aged and distressed furniture this may be appealing. To those who look for furniture to refinish, paint cottage white, or otherwise recycle this one should look good when completed also. So perhaps some good decor possibilities with a practical use value as well. This piece seems to be structurally sound with some nice trim detailing though still simple or primitive in appearance. Being narrow it may have some good potential for use in hard to decorate areas of the home. This tall chest of drawers is about 18 inches wide, 21.25 deep, and 40.25 inches tall. That's about it. Antique Early 1900's Chest of Drawers with Mirror Queen Anne Style
This beautiful early 1900's chest of drawers with small mirror was an estate sale find. It had a thick layer of white/yellowish paint covering it. We stripped the paint and took it back to its original wood color. We did not apply any stain and just let the natural color come through. We did add a clear coat of lacquer to bring out the natural color and protect it. It has 2 small drawers on top and 3 larger drawers on bottom. I am not an expert. But I believe this is Queen Anne style of furniture. It has cabriole legs on front and it is on casters. It is made of solid walnut-the only veneer pieces are on the sides. It is in good condition-it is a well-made solid piece. A large wardrobe trunk made by Henry Likly of Rochester. N.Y. established 1844. Extremely well made. And equipped with beautiful oak slats and ball castors on the bottom end. This fine trunk is complete. Fully functional, and in excellent vintage condition. It is signed with a brass plaque outside and a paper label inside. It is ink stamped Patented December 12. 1911. It comes with the original key. This rare American trunk was beautifully made with the same quality workmanship as the famous much more expensive ones. Antique or Vintage Map Chest- 6 Drawers--DON'T MISS!
This old map chest was left to me by a man I took care of for awhile before he passed away. I am scaling down and am selling some of my older pieces. The chest is wood- not sure what kind- maybe oak. It has six drawers. I do NOT know its age. But I do know many people can tell age of older furniture by looking at how it is constructed. I tried to use pictures that will show this. It is well made, I do know that. It has round feet that are flat on top and bottom- see picture. It is in super condition for its age and could be re-stained or varnished.
