The trunk has the original Jensen Trunk Factory label inside the hinged lid. The trunk is made of wood, with a nice brown covering that is mainly intact, and metal reinforced seams. There is no key with it, and therefore the main lock on the front does not work. The trunk also has two latches, one on each side of the main lock, that are a unique design and work well. The trunk also has other labels on it from travel, but I am unable to make out any dates. The trunk is 12” tall, 7.5” deep, 24” long and 14.5” wide.

The bare wood was once covered with a heavy type decorative paper, most of that is gone but you see some remnants of that in places. The original label was found in the trunk. It belonged to a gentleman in Escanaba Michigan. Maybe you can reincorporate the label back into a repurpose project(maybe lacqure it onto the top side? Stunning vintage 1870's steamer trunk. Little different to the normal ones from this era. Quite a topic of conversation with visitors this one. The large impressive chest comes metal upright banding. Horizontal hard wooden banding held with large brass studs. Replacment top clamps added these were missing. Brass lock and Hasp. Shellac with Bri Wax polish finish. Two working side catches. Large Flat Top Steamer Trunk Nice. Sturdy well made, beautifully restored Steamer Trunk. Newly refinished in a unique antiqued brown. Oak slats have been sanded and stained in a rich red mahogany and coated with polyurethane. My goal with this one is to make it look untouched, but still have a clean usable antique. The interior is newly finished as well. Stripped, sealed and covered in a deep brown felt, no old trunk smell! The handles are original. And still look very nice. It doesn't appear to have ever had wheels on the bottom. Bottom is also refinished. Note: the top has 2 cracks. See pictures, it does not seem to affect the structural integrity, and could be reinforced from the inside if desired. It would make a great coffee table or end table! This is a very nice refinished steamer trunk from around 1900 or so. Here are the trunk's dimensions: from left to right across the front is 32 1/2 inches. From floor to top is 24 inches, and from front edge to back edge is 21 inches. There are some common or typical distress marks on this trunk. These include older nicks and dings in various places along with some stress cracks. The majority of all trunks have distress marks of some nature like this one. Local pick up only.

This antique Hartman Trunk Co. Steamer Suitcase/trunk has great appeal and character. Early 1900's. Covered in leather/cowhide with a pink silk interior this piece was sold by Saks Fifth Avenue. Bronze hinges with a really neat mechanism. Over all condition is great for the age. Leather hinge on the back has torn on the left side. The original owners initials are stamped on the front and have not work. The name of the owner is still on a travel tag attached to a Holland America cruise liner tag. This classic Chest in original condition, and it has a medium/dark Walnut stain finish color on the outside. See pictures. This Chest has interesting carved accents on the front. And it has wide legs. See pictures. This elegant Cedar Chest was produced by the Tennessee Furniture c ompany. A fine furniture manufacturer, and it was sold by the Grand Rapids Furniture Company of New York. Antique Hat Steamer trunk shipped 6 HATS and has ladies accessories compartment
It is 24"L x 22"H x 17 1/2" D. The cloth part is gray. This trunk was used in the early 1900's for trips abroad. I can provide you with some of the history of its owner if you are interested. For instance. She was a wealthy single woman and drove an ambulance in WW11. It can hold 6 hats, and has a separate compartment for lady's accessories. The trunk is a nice size for using as a display/storage piece, which is why I removed the 6 hot holders. But I saved them all, and you can see them in the photos. This beautiful French Vellum Trunk. With its incredible character and elegance, sailed on the Queen Elizabeth from New York to an unknown destination. Measuring 35" long, 20 1/2" wide, and 13 1/2" deep, the exterior has the original solid wood banding and polished chrome latches and hardware. Engraved on the lock is the word"Surete" which is french for"security" Its edges are protected with original rawhide trim secured by silver nail heads. There is a wonderful original vintage tag from the Cunard Line and an old travel decal. Circa 1920's. This French Trunk is in good condition with minimal wear from age and use. The interior has 2 working cloth straps and is clean with no issues or musty smell. The trunk has the original leather handles, but one has a split in part of the leather. Rare Goyard Trunk Luggage Vintage Early 1900's
You are looking at a very interesting piece of history. Goyard is one of the oldest and most revered trunk builders in modern history. Dimensions- 27.5” Wide. 22” Tall, 18 ½” Deep Condition- As you see in the photos there are some damages to the exterior. In only a few places is it ripped through(the worst of the damages are shown in 2 photos) All in all. The exterior is in 80-85% condition considering its age. The hardware is in working order, locking tight. The side handle hardware is also functional. Inside there is no major damage. Stains or odors. Provenance- The top of the trunk is monogrammed with the name Thomas Powers. Malles Goyard Steamer Trunk
A wonderful old travel trunk made in Paris by Goyard. This is the perfect size for a coffee table! Measurements are 33 1/2 inches across. 20 1/2 inches deep, 13 3/4 inches deep. The initials on the side are ACK in red lettering. The brass hardware is nicely stamped. There is no inside tray and the back has slight damage. A split line in the pattern design. The wood slats look great and both sides have the Malles Goyard address label. Inside lining has some spotting to the lower left side. Dates to the 1920's era. For your consideration is an antique steamer trunk. Dates to the late 1800 to early 1900's. There are stickers on the truck. Which I did not remove. Germany and Scotland. Has a wonderful cloth pattern on the outside similar to L. Vitton trunks. Features 4 drawers and a wardrobe area to hang cloths. The drawers lock into place and are lined, wood on the outside. The top drawer has a key lock(not included) When you pull out the drawer, there is a leaver that you turn which unlocks the other drawers. The wardrobe side includes the hangers shown(5) and the top opens to ease in getting the hangers out. the metal slats for the hangers to slide out as well, however the right one is hard to push. Has a fabric cloth to cover the clothes from the drawers. This is a large heavy truck, but in pretty good shape for it's age and the number of trips ... moreit has taken over the years. The top(picture 6) shows the rip in the fabric. Has two tags on it. First is the Hartman Trunk co, Racine, WI. The other is on the corner and says Wasseman's, Grand Rapids, MI. This is a grand old Jenny Lind Travel Trunk that is made of pine wood and has iron latches and support strips. The trunk is a copy of the old Jenny Lind travel type made famous by her. The trunk is dated about 1940 or so. It has been reconditioned as there is slight discoloration in hidden places. The truck is wonderful. It's strong and sturdy ready to haul heavy items or simply to store blankets and such. The trunk is naturally distressed all over, there are cracks in the wood that lend to its beauty and charm. With offices and salesrooms at No. 22 Sutter Street. Its factory was located at Twentieth and Florida streets in San Francisco and covers an area of eleven thousand square feet. The San Francisco Call Newspaper of November 16th ... more1911 listed their address to be on 519 Market Street and another internet search revealed they moved to Battery Street around 1913. Hirschfelder& Meaney was also listed in the 1926 San Francisco chamber of commerce publication as a chest maker with address at 36 battery street San Francisco. Earlier edition of same publication published in 1910 listed same company’s address to be 519 Market Street There are documentations published between 1910 and 1926 that made reference to this company. Painted pine primitive six-panel trunk or foot locker. This piece has a layer of blue paint over green paint and has a 4-H logo stencilled on the lift top. Sturdy construction with dovetail corners and applied molding around the bottom and iron braces at the corners. Beautiful stamped metal handles have been attached to the side. Brass key surround at the front lock. Unsure of exact age- the trunk itself probably dates from the 1800's. But its most recent paint job has to have been after 1910, when the 4-H logo was created. It may have been built as a tool chest and then repurposed for tack. Overall. This piece is in very good condition, although there is significant wear to the paint and some wear and minor damage to the wood itself. MEYERING ANTIQUE STEAMER TRUNK! This auction is for a beautiful Meyering. Antique Steam Wardrobe Trunk. I do not have a key for it- it came to me as seen in the photo and without a key. I know absolutely nothing about restoring a this gorgeous piece. I wish I did. I cannot answer much about it except the physical aspects. I was told by the individual that I got it from that it is from the 1800s. From my minimal research. That seems to be accurate and consistent. It comes with 5 hangers- only one is original- the others were made afterward- when and how old the others are. I don't know, but can tell you 4 of the 5 are not original. Trunk Dimensions are 24" wide x 22.5" depth x 42" height. 1800's ANTIQUE STAGECOACH RAILROAD STEAMER TRUNK CHEST
Up for consideration is a nice size Stagecoach antique trunk that has been restored. It has been cleaned well inside and out. The wood has been lightly sanded then sealed with a satin finish. It os all original exccept for the handles were replaced with new leather ones. The inside was recovered so no musty smells. It does have some minor dings and stress cracks. But this only adds to the characture of this 150 year old trunk. It would be Great for a blanket chest. The measurements are; 30" long x 17" wide x 18" tall.
