So if your after the special one, this is for you. everything on this lamp base is Org. except I replaced the wiring& cord. Look at the great metal work on the shade supports& the Original multiple color swirl Slag glass surround by the Org. finish Oak base. This lamp base proudly stands 15" tall& a wing span of 11" for your shade.the arched feet of the base spread across 7 1/2" side to side. This base has not been messed with or taken apart. So I would say It has the Org glass. One side has the similar one on the opposite side it almost looks light colored(faded)but the wood is not faded& is still dark. So that's why I put a picture of the inside. For viewing all 4 pieces.the only way to change the glass is to completely take apart the base,which if you look at all the bottom corners it shows that it hasn't been taken apart. 2 out of the 4 metal shade holders have a little piece of wood they mount on& are loose. Came loose from age& just need a little glue to secure them.There are pictures of all 4 side& 1 picture of the little loose piece the has the shade screwed to it added to the very end of the picture slideshow. Each drawer has the 1892 and 1894 patent date on them.The Library Bureau Sole Makers Company was in business from the early 1880s to about 1925.I guess the library in the 1890s had to be the only gateway to the world and the hands that were in these drawers.Very nice old patina and there are a few issues but not major and easily addressed and fixable with low expense.There is a piece along the right rear back panel which is not really visible from the front.A couple drawers have some cracks and one has a piece of the rear panel gone but every issue is repairable and I have not altered or repaired anything so you are dealing with the original item.No screws or glue added but it could use some skill to keep it original.There was tape used on the exterior over the years and those are the shadows you see in the photographs.The shadow of the ring on the top was put there by the original librarian so I had a place to put my coffee cup.It is a really cool piece and soundly built.Another 100 years is no problem with this guy. Circa 1900 Mahogany Green leather inlaid steps Sturdy and strong Minor surface wear, Here is a very hard to find set of antique library steps. These steps were made in England sometime around 1900 and we have recently imported them into our Atlanta. GA antique furniture store. Library steps like this were designed to allow someone to reach the top shelves of the bookcases in their libraries. Some are simple but others like this one are more decorative and add elegance as well as utility to the room they inhabit. The wood used is solid mahogany and the stairs themselves are covered in a green leather with gold tooling. A mahogany pole is central to the steps allowing one a place to use their left hand to keep balance while perusing books with the right. This pole is topped with a decorative brass cap. These antique library steps are in very good condition. The only wear is some superficial surface wear to the stairs as you can see in the photos. Structurally the steps are sound. Up for auction is this top quality machinists/ jeweler's tool chest. I had been told by a bidder that it was not Gerstner. So I went on a hunt for the maker. Though it does not have a badge, all the details match with Alex Dunn. The drawer profiles, brass) hardware, and unique circle in a square mirror, all match with existing examples of Alex Dunn. Lower drawer bottoms are metal. Upper drawer bottoms are wood. This box comes with the original key! It locks the top, and the top engages throw bolts that lock the cover for the boxes. Great design, and the cases and felts are not in bad shape. Unfortunately, this case has what looks like(a gloppy) coat of polyurathane finish over the outside. Never the less, it is a beautiful box for tools, jewelry, whatever.and good luck ever seeing another one! Up for bid is a lovely rare in this size childs baby chest used to store their dolls and clothing etc. This is hand made just like the large style used by adults. It is in its original condition including a victorian postcard decoration in the cover portion of the trunk. This wonderful storage cabinet was made in Amercia about 1900 of solid oak with a pine top. It shows the pin pricks in the pine top from maps being pinned down for study. It is 2 sections for moving- top and bottom. It is finished and attractively panelled on all sides- including the back. This cabinet is very solid and sturdy and the finish is in excellent condition in a warm golden brown color. The hardware is cast brass. It is 6 feet long by 41 1/2" and 37" tall. The inside of the 5 big map drawers is 51 1/2" wide by 36" by 3 1/2" deep. The 5 small drawers are 36" front to back to hold rolled maps and charts. LOCAL PICKUP ONLY. The back is finished. Vintage Oak Machinist Tool Chest of Drawers Jewelry Parts Storage
This is a lovely vintage oak chest of drawers which I believe is a machinist or tool chest. No veneer. All wood. Even the drawer bottoms are wood not pressboard. It's very solid. No looseness in the joints. I'm unsure of the age. But I'm guessing the 50's. The drawers have been lined with yellow contact paper which is brittle. I'd replace it all with felt. Antique Humpback Trunk "Nice Oak & Tin Designs "
For your consideration is an antique humpback trunk with very nice oak trim boards along with a very unique tin top and sides. I believe it is all original including leather handles.Paper label inside and all outside trim. The locks on both sides of the trunk have a latch that locks the top down and both work. The colors of the oak slats are a little darker due to their originality and go great with the goldish-yellow tin sections. It measures approx 32 1/4 in wide by 17 deep and 19 in tall.
