Being offered for sale is this beautiful Antique Tall Chest with Mirror and carved Paw Feet with working Key circa 1910. This tall attractive chest offers a tremendous amount of storage possibilities with classic style and elegance. This chest features floral and shell carvings. Original mirror and hardware and a working locks with the key, with the original casters intact on all four feet. This chest measures a total height from the floor to the top of the mirror of 69 1/2 inches. Height from the floor to the top of the chest measures 48 inches, chest measures 38 inches wide and 22 inches deep and weighs approximately 145 lbs. The original beveled mirror measures 27 1/2 inches wide by 17 1/2 inches in height. The original beveled mirror is in fine antique condition with only some slight cloudiness and pivots from to back to adjust viewing ... moreangle. The mirror has a carved shell crest at the top and features elegant floral carved scroll mirror supports. The chest below has 3 smaller drawers over 4 larger ones each with dove-tailed ends. Original brass pulls and working locks. Additional carvings are found on the apron and this piece is raised up on four carved paw feet with casters. We also believe this finish to be old and original with deep rich patina. This is a gorgeous cedar lined blanket chest in a Philadelphia or low-boy Chippendale ball and claw cabinet case. Made by the famous Lane ... moreCedar Chest Company of Alta Vista, Virginia, in the 1940s. This particular chest has had the lock disabled, because they had some problems a while back with the locks. If you send the serial number into the company, I believe they will send you a replacement lock, but right now it has no lock. The cabinet has a beautiful rope carved molded edge top, a simulated five-drawer raised panel front that really has one real drawer on the base. It’s also felt-lined for supplies. The cabinet sits upon wonderful detailed ball and claw cabriole carved legs with clamshell carvings right on the elbows, which is unbelievable. Rope molding across the front, clamshell carving across the simulated faux drawer in the center, and it retains its original brass Chippendale hardware. We have re-sprayed the top to bring out the beauty of the mahogany woods and veneers used in this chest. The company’s logo is burned into the interior. The overall size is 45 inches wide, 20 inches deep, and 36.5 inches high.
