Beautiful Early American Pattern Glass in remarkably fine condition. It is in the"Horn of Plenty" pattern. Also known as the"Comet" or"Peacock" pattern. This open compote has survived in wonderful condition with no chips, nicks or cracks and has the beautiful bell-tone ring typical of flint glass. It has the signature air bubbles and construction characteristics of flint glass manufactured in this early American period. As you can see there are three cherub-like figures holding up a scalloped bowl. The bowl is what was generally used to serve the compote or fruit/nut mixture that is believed to have originated in France. They believed. At the time, that the mixture of fruit and sugary syrup balanced the body's"humidity" Hence the name for this type of porcelain-ware. The top edge of the bowl is 13.5 inches above the table. The three cherubs are swathed in a pinkish robe and there are small pinkish flowers at three points ... moreof the base. On the bottom of the bowl is a small mold-defect(as seen in the picture) This is usually caused when the"slip" is poured into the mold and an air-bubble forms and cannot escape. Blown Glass End of Day Compote Antique ? Vintage ?
I am not sure how old this compote is. I do believe it is end of day glass. There are 3 different"colors" within the item. Clear(which I guess isn't a color) Blue. And then a slight bit of Red which is string like. I do not know from which time period this item was created. There is a slight ring(tone) when thumped with a finger. The pontil area is smooth, as if it's been fire polished, but I do not know for sure. It does not have much roughness to it like other pontils. There is some base wear. You have to look under the right light and angle, but it is there and it looks pretty dense. It doesn't scratch when I move my finger across it, but it is visible. There are tiny seed bubbles and round bubbles. I do not detect any damage. I would not like to say this is mint, but it is fairly close if it's not. I add a disclaimer ... morefor any flea bites, there is at least one very small busted seed bubble underneath the foot. The bowl of the compote sits a little crudely from the joining of the pieces. Vintage GEM ACC Compote Red Glass Metal/Steal Base
Vintage GEM ACC Compote Red Glass top with Metal/Steal Base Measures 2 1/2" tall and almost 5" wide on the top. Stand measures 3 1/2" wide. This beautiful piece appears to be very old. The red paint is wearing off due to age. The stem is made of metal/ steal and has GEM ACC stamped on the bottom-see photo. It appears there is a part of the glass that is cut however it's not very notiable. I'm not sure if it's meant to be there as it's very smooth-see photo. Questions are welcome and encouraged.

The Austro-Hungarian Empire succeeded the Austrian Empire in 1867. At this time the dual monarchy decreed a uniform system of hallmarking for the entire empire. The empire was dissolved in 1919. Hallmark confirms Austro-Hungarian Empire. Early production featuring the Dianakopf of Diana's head first issued in 1867. The cartouche shape and number within indicate the silver fineness. Beginning in 1872, a letter was added to indicate the city of assey. Small dog head mark on clover fitting cap looks to have a HD hallmark. The stunning wheel cut and hand etched crystal bowl or serving dish resembles gorgeous period Czech. Bohemian. Re: Moser'style' quality glass of the Victorian era, extremely intricate with graceful garlands, foliage swags, and birds in flight, the perimeter is beautifully scalloped while the interior of the bowl is wheel cut for a beautiful contrast, a brillant cut. Enameled floral and etched glass compote on stand
For auction is a grand enemeled and etched floral compote with a stand. The raised enameling is just beautiful along with the etching and gold highlights. This is a very elegant piece and is in excellent condition for its age with no chips or cracks. It rings like a bell when struck with your finger. It measures 111/2" wide and 41/2" tall(measurments approx) This would grace any formal dinning table. All payments are due at auction end and please ask questions as I do not accept returns. Antique Copeland Bisque Compote with Glass Bowl
19th. Century Copeland Compote in Bisque with glass bowl(later replacement)Supported by the Three Graces. Base is decorated with raised shell and acanthus leaves in gilt. There is a worn spot on one corner of the base(see first photo) Signed Copeland RS in pencil on the bottom of the base. There is also the number 6.5 on the inside of the bottom of the base. the base is approximatley 6.5 inches in diam. 8 inches tall and the glass bowl is 8 inches in diam. the bowl is cut glass and there are no nicks. The overall condition is excellant.

Antique 1880s Edward Moore Comport Compote Carmel Brown Dish ~ R d 58275 Rare
Antique 1880s Edward Moore Comport or Compote in a Milkey Carmel Brown Color- Engraved in bowl of compote is"R d 58275" This is a pretty compote dish in good condition. There are some flea bites/nicks on the top of base and side of bowl and a few scratches inside of the bowl. Please see pictures. The compote measures: 5 1/2" tall x approx. 6 1/4" in diameter. After doing some research on the engraving inside of the bowl- R d 58275 I found the following information on the company that marked there glass in this manner. Edward Moore and Co. The firm of Edward Moore and Co. was established at the Tyne Flint Glass Works. South Shields, in 1860. Their products were in great demand, and they exported to Europe and the colonies. They had a reputation for good quality and appeared at major exhibitions- they were the only exibitors ... moreof pressed glass at the international exhibition at Crystal Palace in 1862. By 1881, the firm was suffering from the depression. The largest cone at the factory fell, but was rebuilt, and furnaces were relit which had been disused due to lack of orders. From 1882, the business boomed for the rest of the century. Patents were taken out on two new colours, eau de nil' and a caramel brown. Moore bought the moulds of Joseph Webb of Stourbridge in 1888. And the patterns were included in their new pattern book. In July 1891, the works were completely destroyed by fire, except for the 5 cones. However the works were re-built, and production began again in in May 1892. They continued to bring out new designs, and improved the metal, up to the standard of'Manchester glass' By the end of the century, Manchester houses were producing better quality glass than the North East) Moore concentrated on the quality of the glass, rather than on producing new wares. In May 1900 Edward Moore died, and the firm was continued by his son and widow. In 1913, they ceased trading, and the majority of their moulds were bought by Davidson's. Up for your consideration is a stunning Antique Cut crystal glass footed compote. It is absolutely beautiful with crystal prism teardrops that hang on a bronze or brass petal stem. It looks like the Victorian or Art Nouveau era. The compote is is very nice condition with no chips or cracks. Underneath the base shows some patina loss under the feet with the number 1031. It measures 10 1/2" tall and 7 1/2" across glass bowl rim. The base measures 3 1/2" across the feet. The bowl moves in circular fashion. The pattern is a match to the oval dishes on my other auction. The largest serving dish has a diameter of 9 inches from handle to handle and is 5.5 inches high to the top of the rope finial. The smaller round butter dish is 6.5 inches in diameter and 4 inches high. The bottoms are impressed with an English Registry Mark. Hard to read. There is a red stamp that reads WISNER& PALMER importers, 33 State Street Rochester NY. There are no chips or cracks. The gold detailing is excellent. Please email any questions. Gorgeous Victorian period Crystal and Sterling Silver covered compote or candy dish. Total height is 12. Diameter inside bowl is 5. Sterling base is 3" tall. Look at photos#7 and#8 to see dents to the silver base. There are no chips or cracks to the crystal portion. In photo#10 there is a slight"bump" on the inside of the cover's rim. It is smooth and you can only feel it from the inside. Bottom is covered in a felt like material. We spent quite a bit of time trying to decipher the hallmarks with little success. Here they are: CM8 inside a cross-Right facing Lion over the numeral 2-Sovereign Head which looks like a lady wearing a bonnet facing left-Letter C inside a round indention Help on the hallmarks would be greatly appreciated. I am selling a beautiful antique clear cut glass compote type of dish with lid. It is very. Very ornate in design. the design on the lid is birds. The lid and bowl look beautiful. the only item I feel really NOT see is a rough area on the bowl around the rim. The bowl is jagged and scalloped so much that I just feel the rough area, do NOT see it. the bowl has a wonderful ring when it is handled. I bought this at an estate sale from an older lady that I knew very well and she had owned this item for a very long time storing it in her curio. ANTIQUE/VINTAGE CUT BLOCK EAPG (?) CRYSTAL Glass COMPOTE candy dish with LID
I wish I could tell you exact information on this compote but I cannot. An antiques expert told me it is called Cut Block but there are no markings on it. It is 9" tall with the lid and 6" tall without the lid. The lid is curved to match the curves on the base of the compote and it fits into these curves perfectly. The base is scalloped. The stem of the base has a drape pattern and you can see the inside of the stem which resembles a blown bubble- but is simply the inside of the stem. My mother has this exact compote but in a 12" tall size that she has had for more than 50 years. She bought hers originally in an antique shop. this compote has no damage and very little wear on the bottom so it may have been stored in a china cabinet. The glass is very clear.
