This vaseline glass and sterling compote stands 7 1/2" tall. The glass bowl is 5 1/2" x 8" x 2 3/4" deep. The silver base is in the shape of an inverted shell. Beautifully done as could only be made around the turn of the century. If you look closely at the figure, she is a mermaid wiht what appears to be lions feet? There are no markings that we can find. The glass is nearly perfect with virtually no scratches.

I am not certain of the pattern name or the maker. By its form and feel. It appears to be EAPG. It is in good overall condition. There are several small areas in the upper wall with scratches(last photo) and the scalloped edge in the middle of the piece has some roughness to the edges as is expected from a EAPG pattern like this. click picture to enlarge Here we have an impressive crystal compote with 30 teardrop prisms. It measures 10 1/2" tall and 14" across the top. It is quite heavy. Weighing 10 lbs prior to packaging. The pedestal is made up of brass? magnet doesn't stick to it) and features two children or cherub type figures. There are some(I found 4) tiny fleabites on the edge corners, nothing that stands out. It displays perfectly level from one side which I've shown in the first few pics, but if you turn it, it has a lean to it. It is held together with a rod and a ball cap screws down on it in the center of the bowl so you could probably fool with it and adjust it. We're in the middle of a remodel so please excuse any dust. This auction is for a beautiful sapphire blue EAPG compote in the'3 Panel' pattern. I'm using a terrible camera that doesn't get the colors right. In this case the flood lights have watered down the blue color of the compote. But the crummy camera isn't helping. The blue is much brighter than shown in my photos. I'm sorry about the lousy photos. The compote is in very good condition. There are straw marks inside the bowl and outside, including a very prominent one on the bottom. There are utensil marks in the bowl. The glass is old, thick and heavy with air bubbles in a few places. There is lots of honest wear to the base rim. I don't see or feel any chips. Antique Vintage Compote Glass Metal Cherub Fish Marble Base Centerpiece
I have for auction a vintage/antique compote. 5" across. 7" tall. The base is marble with a metal cherub posing on a fish. I do not know what the metal is but a magnet does not stick to it. It is in 2 pieces riveted together. You can see the rivets on the back side. The dish attached to the top is clear glass. I do not feel any chips to the glass. The marble base has a few very small chips or roughness. The metal disk that holds the glass top is discolored. She sweet little cherub needs to be cleaned but I do consider the compote to be in very good vintage condition. PLEASE view the photos as they are an important part of the description.
