I am selling a beautiful antique clear cut glass compote type of dish with lid. It is very. Very ornate in design. the design on the lid is birds. The lid and bowl look beautiful. the only item I feel really NOT see is a rough area on the bowl around the rim. The bowl is jagged and scalloped so much that I just feel the rough area, do NOT see it. the bowl has a wonderful ring when it is handled. I bought this at an estate sale from an older lady that I knew very well and she had owned this item for a very long time storing it in her curio. I do not know the maker-maybe someone out there in Ebay land can tell me. It stands with the lid on at approximately 14 inches with a diameter of 7 inches. If you have any questions, please ask. This is a beautiful antique late 1800's compote. This beautiful piece has a very large size pewter statue of a small child. The glass is hand blown cranberry color with ruffled edge and has a square diamond cut pattern. There are two very tiny nick's on the ruffled edge of the blown glass bowl. Not real visible This does not take away from this beautiful antique piece) The base is a light metal silver plate over brass. It has a lovely ornate design and has lovely footed ornate feet. There are a couple of very small as-made globs in the glass of the bowl. Measuring 7-1/2” high and 10” across the top. The foot is 5” wide. It has a great deep, long lasting ring. The stem is panel cut and it has a star cut base. Condition is very good for it’s age. There are no chips. Cracks or stains. There are some scratches and small wear spots. This auction is for a beautiful sapphire blue EAPG compote in the'3 Panel' pattern. I'm using a terrible camera that doesn't get the colors right. In this case the flood lights have watered down the blue color of the compote. But the crummy camera isn't helping. The blue is much brighter than shown in my photos. I'm sorry about the lousy photos. The compote is in very good condition. There are straw marks inside the bowl and outside, including a very prominent one on the bottom. There are utensil marks in the bowl. The glass is old, thick and heavy with air bubbles in a few places. There is lots of honest wear to the base rim. I don't see or feel any chips. This is an old piece dating back to 1880 or so, and the glass is thick and heavy. The heft of the piece will surprise you when you pick it up.
