ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! I do not know if it is glass or crystal. It does have a beautiful"ping" to it when tapped. It measures 8" tall. Marble base is 5" in diameter. Compote is 7" in diameter& 2" tall& has several"U" shaped cutouts. Crystal/glass is 3/4" thick at the thickest part. It is very heavy. Weighing 5 lbs 9 oz. Metal pedestal has a beautiful brass finish. There are 7 teardrop prisms. Overall it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The bowl is cut with a wonderful scalloped edge cut in semicircles on the outside. There is a lightly cut lotus looking blossoms design around the bowl and in between the 4 draped panels with a cut diamond design. The stem is a lovely sculptured nude lady with a robe draped over one leg. She holds the bowl in one hand on her head. The base is cicular with a starburst design on underneath. The compote measures about 12 1/2" tall ... moreand 8" wide across the top rim. The base measures about 4 1/2" wide. It has a silver and blue label on the base which reads 24% pbo which I believe means lead crystal.It also has what looks like" roct 30407-96" on the label. There is also a worn blue and silver label on the bowl but I can't read the characters as they are foreign. Possibly Slovakian, Czech or Russian although I can't be sure. There is a bird with an open wing on it with the number 1756r The bowl was purchased at an antique dealer's estate sale but I was unable to learn much about it. It is in very good condition. I can see no chips on the rim but see a few light scratches which are very minor. This is a lovely tall Art Deco style compote. Thanks for looking. This starburst pattern cut crystal glass has an amazing amount of gold on this compote bowl. The bowl has a lovely floral gilted brass center screw. Between the beautiful bowl and the glass stem is a wonderful gilted brass leaf pattern that the prisms hang from. The stem of the piece is a solid diamond shape glass. The prisms on this antique compote picks up great color. The brass ornate filigree pattern and marble base is a beautiful addition to this stunning compote. Vintage Mid Century~ Beautiful Crystal Compote with Painted Brass Pedestal and Black Marble Base Dish has a diamond shaped pattern with a cut notched edge~ it's so clear and refracts the light so nicely! The pedestal is a antique gold tone and cream color painted brass scroll and tear drop shapes. exquisite! The paint looks like it was done purposely to be a bit distressed. The base is a solid block of black marble with a golden brown grain running through it. I am guessing(although I do not know the exact age) that this piece is from about the 1960s. One scuff in the paint that can be seen in picture# 4. On the section just underneath the bowl. Otherwise flawless. No chips, scratches or cracks at all in the glass. Up for your consideration is a stunning Antique Cut crystal glass footed compote. It is absolutely beautiful with crystal prism teardrops that hang on a bronze or brass petal stem. It looks like the Victorian or Art Nouveau era. The compote is is very nice condition with no chips or cracks. Underneath the base shows some patina loss under the feet with the number 1031. It measures 10 1/2" tall and 7 1/2" across glass bowl rim. The base measures 3 1/2" across the feet. The bowl moves in circular fashion. ANTIQUE/VINTAGE CUT BLOCK EAPG (?) CRYSTAL Glass COMPOTE candy dish with LID
I wish I could tell you exact information on this compote but I cannot. An antiques expert told me it is called Cut Block but there are no markings on it. It is 9" tall with the lid and 6" tall without the lid. The lid is curved to match the curves on the base of the compote and it fits into these curves perfectly. The base is scalloped. The stem of the base has a drape pattern and you can see the inside of the stem which resembles a blown bubble- but is simply the inside of the stem. My mother has this exact compote but in a 12" tall size that she has had for more than 50 years. She bought hers originally in an antique shop. this compote has no damage and very little wear on the bottom so it may have been stored in a china cabinet. The glass is very clear.

This beautiful tazza or compote has a lovely bronze base with a pressed and cut glass or crystal bowl. It measures 8 inches wide and 6 1/2 inches tall. It is in very good condition with only the tiniest'roughness' here and there on the rim- very tiny chips- I can't see them. Only feel them. Overall, this is a beautiful piece!
