Vintage Tall Glass Compote Etched or engraved glass with HEARTS AND ARROWS This lovely Compote was made probably in early 1900's. It is an pretty one and a nice example of a very tall. Footed glass compote. I think this piece is an ENGRAVED COMPOTE of clear flint blown glass. Circular bowl with hollow baluster stem and circular foot. Polished pontil. This is a nostalgic old piece-a detailed romantic compote catches the light and will display beautifully in your china cabinet or serving table. Nothing is quite as elegant as a fine compote like this that gives sparkle to old Victorian homes. It is huge and elegant-Maker unknown. Very nice quality. And design. Cute Green Glass Compote or Apothecary Jar, Italy Italian Vintage Blown Glass
This beautiful green glass piece appears to be blown- it has the characteristic bubbles as well as the pucker in the middle of the underside. We're guessing it's a vintage Italian piece. While we don't know a lot about glass. It looks very much like some of the mid century Italian pieces online. Please judge for yourself from the pictures. It measures about 5-1/2" high by about 7" across at its widest point. It's in very good condition. As mentioned. It has some lovely bubbles, both small and large. See pictures 4 and 5 for examples. Beautiful Hand Blown Glass bowl/ compote. Fluted neck, glass"drizzle" effect applied to outside. Glass has an iridescent color to it. One old repaired chip. No cracks. I'd say this is circa first half of the 20th century.

Blown Glass End of Day Compote Antique ? Vintage ?
I am not sure how old this compote is. I do believe it is end of day glass. There are 3 different"colors" within the item. Clear(which I guess isn't a color) Blue. And then a slight bit of Red which is string like. I do not know from which time period this item was created. There is a slight ring(tone) when thumped with a finger. The pontil area is smooth, as if it's been fire polished, but I do not know for sure. It does not have much roughness to it like other pontils. There is some base wear. You have to look under the right light and angle, but it is there and it looks pretty dense. It doesn't scratch when I move my finger across it, but it is visible. There are tiny seed bubbles and round bubbles. I do not detect any damage. I would not like to say this is mint, but it is fairly close if it's not. I add a disclaimer ... morefor any flea bites, there is at least one very small busted seed bubble underneath the foot. The bowl of the compote sits a little crudely from the joining of the pieces. Very pretty teal/white checkered bowl with scalloped rim. Solid teal stem with teal see through base. Compote about 7" tall, bowl is 25" round and 7.5" across. Stem is about 3" high and base about 15" around. About 2.5" deep with sloping sides. Inside bowl small blemish/wear mark in glass and#7 shows the bottom is not completely level. Picture#3 shows color of bowl without light shinning down in it. Other than blemish no chips/cracks/damage. Please email with questions.

A stunning pair of 19th century blown center compotes of nice size with a deep bowl supported on a hollow faceted stem that is just incredible! The outside of each bowl is beatifully decorated with acid etched bands. Leaves and flowers. Size: 6 1/8" Height by 8 1/8" Diameter. Top rims and pontil are ground. They ring like a bell. Imagine them on either end of your server for the holidays filled with fruits, flowers or a tower of treats. Some age appropriate shelf wear to the bottom. Like all hand made glass. The quality of the glass, cutting and construction is outstanding. It measures roughly 12" tall x 6 3/4" in diameter across the bowl. A lot of work went into the making of this piece. It has an applied hollow cut cover knob that is ground flat at the top and polished. The stem is also hollow and cut faceted. There is a band of cut panel around the outside of the bowl. The underside of the base is ground and polished. The domed cover with flange is just great. As nice as the piece looks in the pictures its even nicer when you handle it. The condition is mint. There are no chips, cracks, flakes, hairlines or evidence of grinding of any kind. There are no surface scratches or interior surface staining. It rings like a bell when you tap it with your finger. Antique Mercury Glass Compote - Hand Blown Pontil BOSTON & SANDWICH 1855 1870
This American made compote stands 6 inches tall. Has a 7 inch bowl, and a 4 3/8 inch base. Hand blown between 1855- 1870. Unembellished, the exterior shows great silvering. the interior has humidity spotting which resembles window frost(95% in the lower half) and a dull area about 1 inch by 1/2 inch shown in the photo's. Shown in Diane Lytwyn's Book"SILVERED MERCURY GLASS" Page 114. The first three pics are different views. The cork is original. Classic shape makes a great photographic study. ~MAGNIFICENT BLOWN EARLY AMERICAN CRANBERRY CUT TO CLEAR GLASS COMPOTE~
For your consideration an early magnificent footed compote. Cranberry cut to clear. I'm not positive of the maker, but I believe it's one of the 3 I listed above. This came from my brother's personal collection. He was a well regarded glass collector and I've had this many years. As glass is not my forte, I have taken my photos and will leave it up to the experts to decide. The compote is extremely heavy! It weighs in at over 6 pounds. It stands 9 and 1/4 inches tall and is 9 inches across the top. The base measures a little over 5 inches across. The compote is in great shape for it's age! It is solid and rings like a bell! Free of any cracks. With a just a little mouth shaped chip to the bottom of the base. Please note there are some air bubbles to the base and where the body meets the stem. There is also a tiny one popped ... moreon the outside of the compote. Underneath where the body was attached there are some indentations that occurred during manufacture. There are a few teeny tiny flea bites and some light scratches from age. I have taken pictures of all, so please use the magnification feature to get a closer look.
