This is an awesome matching pair of antique brass. Cut leaded crystal& marble compotes, each featuring a cherub/angel riding a dolphin. On top of a square carrera marble base. Both pieces are in very good condition for their age. The total height of each piece is 7 1/2" The bowl has a 5 1/2" diameter. The marble base is 4" squared. The pictures do not do this piece justice. This is a stunning crystal cut glass with gold highlights compote. This starburst pattern cut crystal glass has an amazing amount of gold on this compote bowl. The bowl has a lovely floral gilted brass center screw. Between the beautiful bowl and the glass stem is a wonderful gilted brass leaf pattern that the prisms hang from. The stem of the piece is a solid diamond shape glass. The prisms on this antique compote picks up great color. The brass ornate filigree pattern and marble base is a beautiful addition to this stunning compote. When this piece is in the light the gold just catches the eye. The antique compote measures 8" tall and the cut crystal gold highlighted bowl measures 8 1/2 across x 4 1/2" deep. I have felt around the various edges and facets without finding any obvious chips. This was a beautiful estate sale find. Pressed glass pinwheel style with two matching candle holders. Each piece has eight sets of teardrop prisms except the bowl. It's missing one set. But they seem to be easy enough to find. I haven't done anything to them but take their pictures. The bowl stands 9 1/4" tall and 8 1/4" wide. The candle holders are 8" tall and 5" wide. They have no chips or cracks that I could find. With a little TLC these beauties can be the centerpiece of your home. 1970'S GORGEOUS CUT ROSE CRYSTAL BOWL COMPOTE w PRISMS& MARBLE& METAL BASE This is an offering of a lovely 1960's to 1970's era cut crystal compote that features a lovely scene of a rose that is repeated around the bowl 3 times. It also features an elaborate cut design and sawtooth style rim. It has a fantastic ring to the bowl and I believe it may be German crystal. This compote has a marble and antique gold metal base and also features 4 teardrop prisms that hang from a metal leafy style piece that is mounted right under the bowl. The stem of the compote has a faceted crystal piece with a partial label that says crystal cut but rest is unreadable. This stands about 11" for total height and the bowl is about 8 1/2" in diameter. It is in very good shape. I do feel a couple of small rough areas around the inside ... moretop area of the teeth but could not see any chips but is more like a rough inside edge to the teeth from time of manufacture. These are very popular right now for decorating and bring back some great memories of something mom may have had in the 60's or 70's era. Great for use with fruit or flowers. It measures about 12" high to top of finial(7-1/2" to rim) The diameter is about 7-1/2" at the metal rim. The pressed glass is nice and clear. The metal shows overall wear to finish to give it a natural"shabby" look. The ormolu surrounding the finial has com unglued but sits snugly as it was made to settle into the design of the top. This nice vintage compote set came from a recent estate sale. At least I was told it has always been a set but I am not sure that the candle holders match. I could be wrong though. They are all in good shape with no chips cracks or damage although there are some minor knicks/chips on the marble. There are 2 prisms missing on the compote and one missing on one of the candle holders. The prisms look like they were rewired although the very top wires look original. The compote which ... moreI think is crystal but might possibly be pressed glass stands just over 9 inches tall and is just over 11 inches across the top. The candle holders stand about 6.5 inches tall and are 5.5 inches across the base of the marble. The brass on the compote looks like it has cleaner in the grooves? Not sure but please look at the photos. All the pieces have felt on the bottoms so I have no idea who made them or exactly when they were made. If I were to guess I would say they are most likely Italian or German. All in all they are a nice set to dress up your buffet or dining room table. These are very heavy weighing over 14 pounds without packaging so its not going to be cheap to ship. Check out my other auctions for more great vintage and collectible items! Vintage Marble Base Lighter And Matching Compote Art Deco
You are looking at a rather fancy brass. Glass, and marble bass lighter. You are also looking at the matching compote. Both of these items have brass leaves that stick out with mounting holes. The holes are meant to hang crystals on. The lighter measures 10 inches high with a 4 3/8 inch base. The compote measures 7 3/4 inches high with a 4 3/8 inch marble base.
