The bowl is cut with a wonderful scalloped edge cut in semicircles on the outside. There is a lightly cut lotus looking blossoms design around the bowl and in between the 4 draped panels with a cut diamond design. The stem is a lovely sculptured nude lady with a robe draped over one leg. She holds the bowl in one hand on her head. The base is cicular with a starburst design on underneath. The compote measures about 12 1/2" tall ... moreand 8" wide across the top rim. The base measures about 4 1/2" wide. It has a silver and blue label on the base which reads 24% pbo which I believe means lead crystal.It also has what looks like" roct 30407-96" on the label. There is also a worn blue and silver label on the bowl but I can't read the characters as they are foreign. Possibly Slovakian, Czech or Russian although I can't be sure. There is a bird with an open wing on it with the number 1756r The bowl was purchased at an antique dealer's estate sale but I was unable to learn much about it. It is in very good condition. I can see no chips on the rim but see a few light scratches which are very minor. This is a lovely tall Art Deco style compote. Thanks for looking. This starburst pattern cut crystal glass has an amazing amount of gold on this compote bowl. The bowl has a lovely floral gilted brass center screw. Between the beautiful bowl and the glass stem is a wonderful gilted brass leaf pattern that the prisms hang from. The stem of the piece is a solid diamond shape glass. The prisms on this antique compote picks up great color. The brass ornate filigree pattern and marble base is a beautiful addition to this stunning compote. When this piece is in the light the gold just catches the eye. The antique compote measures 8" tall and the cut crystal gold highlighted bowl measures 8 1/2 across x 4 1/2" deep. ANTIQUE/VINTAGE CUT BLOCK EAPG (?) CRYSTAL Glass COMPOTE candy dish with LID
I wish I could tell you exact information on this compote but I cannot. An antiques expert told me it is called Cut Block but there are no markings on it. It is 9" tall with the lid and 6" tall without the lid. The lid is curved to match the curves on the base of the compote and it fits into these curves perfectly. The base is scalloped. The stem of the base has a drape pattern and you can see the inside of the stem which resembles a blown bubble- but is simply the inside of the stem. My mother has this exact compote but in a 12" tall size that she has had for more than 50 years. She bought hers originally in an antique shop. this compote has no damage and very little wear on the bottom so it may have been stored in a china cabinet. The glass is very clear.

This is a wonderful old crystal compote with a perfectly formed bubble stem and meticulously cut cross-hatched band around the bowl. There are a couple of very small as-made globs in the glass of the bowl. Measuring 7-1/2” high and 10” across the top. The foot is 5” wide. It has a great deep, long lasting ring. The stem is panel cut and it has a star cut base. Condition is very good for it’s age. There are no chips. Cracks or stains. There are some scratches and small wear spots. This auction is for a Fine ANTIQUE Anglo-Irish Cut Crystal/ Glass Compote circa late 17th early 18th century. The Compote features multiple cut facets around the outside of the bowl and in the center. Bottom of the base. The Compote. Which measures approximately 6 1/2 inches long by 5 1/8 inches wide by 4 1/2 inches tall. Is in remarkably good condition. With only two shell shaped chips to the rim- both very difficult to see due to location(outside edge of the rim) and several very small nibbles- visible with a magnifying glass. EARLY ANTIQUE CRYSTAL GEORGIAN PERIOD ANGLO IRISH CUT GLASS 6-1/2"d COMPOTE
The item for bid is what I believe is an Antique Angle-Irish Cut Crystal Glass 6-1/2" Diameter Compote from the 1840-49 Georgian Period that was made by an Unknown Maker. The cut pattern on the compote consists of an eight(8) pointed scallop top rim that is beveled. The side of the bowl has eleven(11) flat flute/punty band, a hexagon shape stem with an air trap teardrop, and the foot is hexagon shape with the outer top edge of the rim being tapered. The bowl is made of a flint/lead crystal glass that has a nice bell tone ring when lightly tapped. The compote is made in two separate pieces. Bowl& stem, that were joined together by pressing them together when the glass was still hot. The dish has excellent clarity and pattern detail with the only visible defects being a few pin-head size chips on the top rim. A few tiny air bubbles ... morein the glass that is a manufacturing flaw, and the bottom of the foot exhibits age appropriate wear marks. It measures 6-7/8" tall. The top rim is 6-1/2" diameter from point to point, and the foot is 3-1/2" diameter from point to point. Antique 19th Century Irish or English Rolled Edge Cut Crystal Glass Compote
For sale is a superb hand blown antique compote in excellent condition. It measures 12 inches high by 6 inches wide. It's origin is most likely Irish or English from the mid eighteen hundreds. The crystal blank used is super clear and rings like a bell. This compote is a work of art with a rolled edge and amazingly difficult cuts all away around the border. The other detailed cuts are done to perfection. I did a close up inspection for cracks and chips and could only find a couple of very tiny flecks on the cuts around the rolled cut edge. They are so small I missed them the first time around. I'm not even sure if they are actual very tiny flecks or just natural from the cutting process because the edges are so sharp. The are very hard to see and too small to photograph but I want to make sure I describe as accurately as possible. ... moreThe bottom of the foot has normal wear from sitting on the shelf.
