These compotes were made by Frank Whiting and date to around the turn of the century. The compotes are beautifully hand chased with intricate vines. Leaves, and baskets of flowers. Each compote has a monogram in the center of'EEK' in elegant interwoven script. These compotes are in great overall condition. The details of the chasing are nice and crisp. One of the compotes has a little bit of crimping around the base. Which is not very noticeable and will never be seen with normal use. There are no splits, no breaks, no monogram removals, and no repairs. Each piece is hallmarked on the underside with the maker's mark for Frank Whiting. Sterling, and a retail mark for Black, Starr& Frost. Each compote is about 3 inches tall and has a diameter of about 9 7/8 inches. We are pleased to offer this small ... morewhite ironstone compote on pedestal in the Grape Leaf body style of the late 19th century. This compote is not marked. A compote may also be referred to as a comport. This compote is 4 5/8” tall and 8 1/2” at the rim. The pedestal foot is 3” tall and 4 3/16” in diameter at the foot ring. This lovely compote has a gleaming white glaze and clear embossment. It is free of discoloration. And restoration. Because the rim is jagged to resemble a leaf, it is susceptible to tiny chips and flakes. There are two small 1/4” to 3/8” chips under the rim and approximately three pinhead-size to 1/8” flakes along the edge of the rim. There is a 3” crack in the pedestal foot and an extremely faint 3” hairline near the handle. Crazing, which is common to ironstone, is present. This interesting compote would complement any collection of white ironstone and especially one which emphasizes compotes or ornate serving pieces. The bottom is marked but faded from age and it is hard to make it out exactly.

Selling this vintage 1920's Art Deco Orange reverse painted Compote/Center piece with Silver overlay details in form of Morning Glory Flower.Czech glass style but not marked. Attached at either end are rococo design handles. Edging the top of the bowl is a looped garland of gilded roses. The inside center of the bowl is painted in a 24k gold tulip design. The bowl sits on a ½ ring of rococo guilding. The base of the dish is painted in a 24k gold design. This compote is in very good condition. There is a tiny nick on the edge of the base. The compote measures 7in in diam. across the bowl x 7 1/2in tall x 4 1/2in in diam. across the base.

This was made in 1879 by Gillinder& Sons of Philadelphia. The pattern has sometimes been referred to as Pioneer and Tippy Canoe. It is in the American Pattern Glass Book 1850-1910 by Bill Jenks and Jerry Luna. The compote base features a frosted scene that includes a buffalo. A log cabin, and a deer. The finial is a crouching Indian that stands 3 7/8 inches tall. There is no damage what so ever to this piece( no chip, crack abd repairs, just inside two line due to manufacturing flaw) All in all, this an uncommon piece of EAPG which a serious collector could appreciate. The bowl is 8" in diameter at the top and stands 5 1/2" from table to rim. This piece come alive and sparkles in the sunlight. The picture shows some of the glistening. The rippled edge and the base have grape vines outlining them. The bowl has huge clusters of grapes and large leaves. We found the pattern was made by Imperial on the internet but this piece is not marked. The condition is excellent with no chips, cracks, or scratches. Antique Bohemian compote with silver base. Beautiful white to clear cut glass decorated with green& blue grape cluster vines. Accented with thick gold trim. The bowl shape is deeply ruffled or wavy with sharp cut edges. Ornate silver weighted base having leafy vines and scrolled corners. Tested to be at least 750 silver grade. Measures about 7.25" tall by 9.75" wide. Considering its age I would say it is in pretty good condition overall. The bowl has a few small chips to the pointed edges. If you look at the very base underside. In the centre, there is a small inclusion/crack in the glass. And another very small one on the very top inside around the metal centre where the bolt goes. There is abit of gummy material on the underside of base in the same area which I believe is there to stabilize it. Both are minor and not noticeable ... moreunless closely inspected. As for the base. It has a few minor dings to the silver. I noticed one small hole in the silver and another small spot where it looks like it has been repaired. Looking to date from the 1880's to 1890's, compote features a Victorian era lady bust for the stem, with pearls around her neck and flowing hair. Inside of base has a simple floral pattern, underside of top is hobnailed, with ribbed sides. Color is a very nice honey amber, with a number of bubbles in one section. Verdigris Gilded Textured Glass, Vintage Footed Glass Compote
VTG 1920s. Verdigris Gilded Texture Paste Coated Footed Clear Glass Compote Made in USA Up for auction is an extremely unusual footed clear glass bowl coated with gilded verdigris textured finish… Item has original sticker at bottom with 1926 date(see close up pix) Compote has six sided small foot with flared out multi-sided bowl with handle to one side. Bowl is made of clear glass and then textured with verdigris. Gold and some peach pink texturing…Compote opening rim has saw tooth design. I have not been able to find any information on similar items. Process seems to be similar to the pate de sure(paste on porcelain) procedure. Item is in good pre-owned vintage condition with no chips but some of the texturing is flaking off and I would consider the item to be in delicate condition and be handled accordingly. This EAPG compote. Unknown maker and pattern possibly could be Cambridge? It's a pretty pattern of button star/hobstar and feathers and has a nice brilliance to it. The height is 5" and 5" dia. The base is rather large with a 3-3/4" scalloped rim. This may be a jelly compote; it does have scratches inside bottom from use. Overall no other damage of chips or cracks. This piece is from my personal collection of compotes. Described to the best of my ability but unsure of pattern/maker. Cut glass and brass compote with 7 crystal prisms. Measures: 8 1/2" in diameter and 9" tall. The prisms are 2" tall and very heavy. This is an elegant heavy cut crystal with a saw tooth edge. The heavy brass base holds 7 crystal prisms. Absolutey stunning! No chips. Cracks, or repairs with the exception that one prism has tiny scratch on the octagon and teardrop. Vintage Bohemian Style Cut Crystal Gilded Footed Compote w/ Cover
This Beautiful footed compote is a great piece of crystal. It is gilt over most of it's surface and what isn't covered in gold has a leaf pattern cut into it. It is hard to believe that something this beautiful is unmarked. The bowl is 3 1/4" tall and 3 3/4" across. When you put the cover on. It rises to 6 1/4" in height. I am unsure of it's age since there are no markings but if forced to guess, I would believe it was from the pre-twenties. Some of the gilding is starting to show wear- probably due to enthusiastic cleaning. Please check out the photos for detail.

Fresh to the market is this wonderful antique piece of EAPG glass from 1885. The pattern is SHERATON also known as IDA and it was produced by Bryce. Higbee& Co. It is getting harder and harder to find these old 100+ year old. Made in the USA glass pieces and this one is in great shape. There are no chips or cracks. There is some minor rough areas on edge which I believe was the way it was created as they are not chips. The bowl contains a straw mark, also indicative of old glass, and there are bubbles in the glass bowl! None of these are defects, just indications of OLD glass and the way it was produced back then. Though may actually much more than a century old, as my uncle collected antiques. This beautiful and unusual candy dish has a handled. Metal base/ receptacle into which a flat bottomed, oval glass insert with a slightly flared opening rests- the top of which delicate, depressed lines and ovals. The gold tone metal base, itself, is constructed of an open-work beaded and geometric pattern suggesting an 18th/ 19th century French design. Nice!! J. Hoare American Brilliant 7" Cut Glass Compote Intaglio, Cane, Prism
This beautiful cut glass compote was made by J. Hoare of Corning NY. It took me forever to find the acid mark on the bottom. But I wasn't surprised once I did(and of course I found it by accident) The quality of the glass, depth of the cuts, pattern and resonating ring when tapped all pointed to the maker being one of the finer cutting houses of the American Brilliant period. Picture 9 shows the circular Hoare mark under a scratch, which is a good landmark, as the mark is faint and not easy to find. It stands 7" high by 8" across and has a 24 pointed star on the 5" wide footed bottom. There's a really nice intaglio design of flowers and leaves set into a repeating pattern of cane, prism, star and fan cuts, plus a cut I can't identify in picture 7. The short, thick stem, which widens towards the top, is also cut ... moreon its 6 sides. Condition is pretty good. Picture 5 points to the only two damaged areas-one missing tooth and a flake on another. There are scratch marks on the bottom and there's a tiny flea bite on the bottom edge, but there are no other apologies. Each cut has a rainbow in it. Just lovely. It's a heavy piece, so please wait for an invoice in order to get correct shipping quotes. Shipped within five business days of receiving payment. Very Rare Set of 11 Georgian Anglo Irish Crystal Compotes
This is a very rare set of 11 hand blown. Hand cut Georgian Anglo Irish Compotes that date from 1790- 1820. It's obvious they were hand blown as they vary ever so slightly in thickness and height. They are 3 1/8" 3 1/4" high x 3 3/4" across. The square bases are applied, and have a"Lemon Squeezer" hand cut design. If you look closely at the pictures you will see that some of those designs on the bottom of the bases are not quite centered. The thickness of the bases also vary slightly from 1/16" 1/8" thick and you can see bubbles in some of the bases. Each bowl has a raised ball of glass in the bottom. I've never seen anything like that before. The bowls of the compotes are beautifully cut in a diamond pattern. Three of the bowls have very small flea bites around the rim. The 5th photo shows the bowl ... morewith the largest chip, the other two are very very small. The remaining eight bowls are in perfect condition. Some of the bases have very square points and some appear to be beveled. Many of the bases have small chips. None of these detract from the beauty of these rare compotes and are in keeping with other pieces of this age. These are very well packed with each bowl wrapped in many layers of bubble wrap. Insurance is included in the shipping cost.

Circa 1900 2 ¾” tall by 5 ½” diameter Art Glass Compote I knew that it was unique and rare. I have never seen another piece of glass like it on over 40 years in the business. The landscape decorated design you see is not reverse painted, nor is it on top of the glass like camero glass. The design is actually within the glass and can be seen equally from both sides. The design had to be made when the glass was molten. This small compote has a satin surface and along the inside edge of the top is the signature“Montanoro” After quite a bit of searching online, as well as posting a few photos on Glass I'D forums, someone finally found an other example of of this art glass with this signature. If you go to papilio.cz and search the archives for keyword'Montanoro' you will find the one example of this glass we could find. This site referred to this glass as Bohemian. Beautiful Rare EAPG Flint Glass Compote 10 1/2" Dia/Horn Of Plenty/Comet
Beautiful piece of Early American Pattern Glass in remarkably good condition. It is in the"Horn of Plenty" pattern. Also known as the"Comet" or"Peacock" patterns. This open compote has survived in wonderful condition with no chips, nicks or cracks and has the beautiful bell-tone ring typical of flint glass. It has the typical air bubbles and construction characteristics of flint glass manufactured in this early American period. It is@ 10 1/2" in diameter at the top of the bowl and stands@ 8 1/2" tall and has an impressive presence sure to enhance any collection or as a stand-alone piece.
