For sale is a lovely antique covered pedestal compote with a very pretty design in it.I do not know what the pattern is called.It stands approx. 13 1/2" tall with the lid on and measures 8" across the opening.Has a couple straw marks and bubbles in the glass but no chips or cracks.This is really a lovely piece and would look wonderful with fruit or salad in it.This will have to be shipped in an over-size box so wait for the exact charges after the auction before paying.

Early Hand Done Blue/Clear Glass DECORATED COVERED COMPOTE w Gems. Gold No chips. Cracks, repairs. Light wear to the gold trim in places but relatively minor. Top bowl and lid are mostly blue glass. Stem, finial and decorations to rims are clear and hand applied. No makers marks or dates. Stands almost 11 inches tall and is about 5.75 inches in diameter at the widest part. Very unique. Photos may show a bit of dust- just pulled it from my collection- but I will clean it up nicely before I send it on it's way. Gorgeous piece. This beautiful antique plainware Colonial flute pattern glass covered compote was made from a two piece mold with fluted pattern on bottom of the bowl and down the pedistal with a ring in the center. The flute pattern is around the bottom of the round finial also. It measures apprx. 10 1/2" high 7 1/8" across 4 1/4" across the foot. The compote is in fairly good used condition. No cracks, glass is clear with some waviness and tiny bubbles in the glass, some tiny fleabites along one edge of the bottom of the bowl. PA, and designed by mold-shop superintendent, John Ernest Miller. Collectors know this Victorian pattern by several names: Three Faces, Three Graces, Three Fates, and Three Sisters. This covered compote is a combination of clear glass and acid-etched glass. Antique Vtg Retro 1940-50s W Virginia Glass LARGE Handmade Covered Compote Mk'd
Hello. thanks for viewing this large, antique/vintage Retro, hand-blown and decorated Art Glass covered Compote. It's marked with a turquoise blue and silver foil label on bottom which reads, Hand Made- West Virginia- Weston, Va. It's about 6" tall, by 6" wide and has a formed round foot, rimmed bowl top and rimmed, fitted lip on top lid. It's designed having white enameled dots with gilt inside them; and gold paint flecks everywhere on its exteriors. Both sections are in mint condition; with scratches only being found on base bottom edge(pic.s 4, 8) The foot measures 2-3/4" diameter; and the 10 photos were taken in shadows of indoor window light. thanks very much again for looking. We blacklighted this piece and it does fluoresce green which indicates the presence of uranium. Its octagon shape reminds us of an old gas lamp. This piece measures 9" tall and 6" at its widest. We are calling this shabby chic due to the a chip in the lid and the rim of the bowl itself. There is a chip on the inside lip as well. This still has a ton of character though. Good Luck! ANTIQUE COVERED COMPOTE"BARBERRY" This antique glass compote was made by the Boston Sandwich& Glass Company in the"Barberry" pattern and dates to 1860-1880. This Early American Pattern Glass has a raised design of berries and leaves with a beautiful shell finial. Compote measures approx. 8" x 8-1/4" Condition: couple tiny flea bites on cover rim(upon close inspection) and some light utensil marks pretty good for glass 143+ years old. Interesting. Open compotes were left on the table to hold fruit while covered compotes were created to keep the flies off, no air conditioning and I don't know about screens back then. Antique Covered Blue Glass repousse Brass Compote, K.R. Society 1881-1931 mark
I am listing this item for my neighbor- she said she inherited from a friends estate many years ago and all she knows is it is old. It is marked on the bottom K. R. Society. 1881- 1931 and I have no other info and no idea what that stands for. It is ornately designed on top with leaves, fruit, floral and down the sides and base with a blown pale blue glass insert that is removable as shown. The top is quite heavy and fits nice and snugly in the lower part and I have no idea what is was used for or the significance of K. R. Society. Stands about 8 1/2" tall and widest seems about 4 1/2" On the lower part it seems like a little peapod with 6 peas- not sure if that is some type of hallmark but it is only in one place and not repeated. This is an amazing nearly 12" tall covered square compote in what might be Jeanette glass. There are no cracks. Nicks, or chips. All rims and edges are smooth, including the scalloped lid with bulbous knob on top. It is truly beautiful and very old. There are a couple tiny air bubbles within the glass. It measures about 6" across. 12" high w/lid, and very heavy. This looks like Jeanette glass. But also looks to be higher quality with a more beautiful lid, and more refined details and glass. COVERED VASELINE GLASS COMPOTE WITH LID - PRESSED GLASS - PERFECT CONDITION
This beautiful small compost is in perfect condition. It is the Vaseline color of old pressed glass probably made in the 1960s. Would be my guess. Strictly a guess) I know I have had it for at least 40 years or so. Up to the decorative point on top is 7 1/2" tall. It is 5" in diameter at the middle. It is VERY heavy glass. I don't remember what the pressed glass pattern is, as I never collected much glassware, but it is pretty. As I said, also in fine shape. The top lip of the compote and the bottom lip of the lid has a beading on the edge, I guess to make it fit together more securely. Not much else to say, if you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Antique, covered glass compote/ candy bowl. This magnificent piece belonged to my grandmother and dates from just after 1900. The compote measures 14" in height and 9" in diameter. The cover has a toothed rim that fits into the matching toothed rim of the bowl. And the entire surface of the glass lid and bowl, is covered with prominent, four-sided peaks in a graduated pattern. The bowl here is quite deep and can hold a lot of candy or a sweet dessert. There is a small chip on the interior side of one of the teeth of the lid. I believe that this is from one of the Midwestern Pittsburgh are glass factories. However, I cannot rule out Sandwich or New England. The quality of the glass, cutting and construction is outstanding. It measures roughly 12" tall x 6 3/4" in diameter across the bowl. A lot of work went into the making of this piece. It has an applied hollow cut cover knob that is ground flat at the top and polished. The stem is also hollow and cut faceted. There is a band of cut panel around the outside of the bowl. The underside of the base is ground and polished. The domed cover with flange is just great. As nice as the piece looks in the pictures its even nicer when you handle it. The condition is mint. There are no chips, cracks, flakes, hairlines or evidence of grinding of any kind. There are no surface scratches or interior surface staining. It rings like a bell when you tap it with your finger. This is a wonderful 19th Century EAPG Handled Covered Compote in the Ruby pattern. By Labelle Glass Co. patented June 4, 1878. It stands approximately 10-3/4" tall(lid on) x 8-3/4" wide rim diameter(not including handles) x 10-1/2" wide overall(including handles) It is in beautiful estate condition with NO chips.
