It is hard to find the sets today. 30 years ago. I used to buy them all the time, but I hardly see them anymore. This is a particularly nice set, oftentimes called a console set. The engraving of superb quality and all of the pieces are well marked. Each piece is smooth the interior and deeply cut on the exterior with fancy flowers, scrolls and leaves with a border of cross-hatching around the rim. All three pieces are signed on the underside with Hawkes old trefoil mark. The condition is excellent. There are no chips. No cracks, no breaks, and no repairs. The condition is as good as it gets. This auction is for an antique ornate. Brass, leaded crystal compote. It is in excellent pre-owned condition. All 10 tear drop crystals are there. This item's bowl measures 13 3/8" long by 6 1/4" wide. It stands 9 3/4" tall. The marble base is 4 1/2" squared. The cherub riding the dolphin stands 6 1/2" tall. The crystals total length is 2 1/2" the tear shaped is 1 1/2" This item could be used to hold real or fabricated fruit, or decorations or anything you might find pleasing to the eye. Looking at another item similar to this. It is hand cut crystal, in patterns of fans& stars. Marble from Italy. Made possibly in Germany. There are no markings or labels left on this item.

It is copper wheel engraved on four sides with roses and grapevines. The top rim is scalloped. The piece was blown in three sections- bowl. Stem and foot, and joined by the glassblower, in the nineteenth century method. It has a polished pontil. It dates to circa 1870. The celery stands 8 inches tall by 4 inches wide. This is the debut on eBay for this beautiful antique pressed glass pedestal compote with the eye-catching wavy edge and the six-panelled base. It is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. Dimensions: eight inches high; 10 and 5/8 inches diameter at the top; 4 and 7/8 inches diameter at the base. It is very heavy. Its size will require packing that goes over 12 inches. Pair Vintage Glass Candy Dishes Compotes
This pair of older candy dishes would make a lovely accent anywhere. The lidded dish is embellished with a hearts-and-flowers design and some diamond cross-hatching; it is pretty but probably only about 30 years old. The bottom is marked"Malaysia" It is 4" high to the top of the handle on the lid, 2" high without the lid, and just over 5" across. The second bowl is older. With scalloped edges and handles. There is a small bit of damage to the interior, see photo, but it does not detract from piece. It is 2 1/2" high, 5 1/2" across, 7" from handle to handle. If this doesn't remind you of your grandmother's house, nothing will!

The bowl is cut with a wonderful scalloped edge cut in semicircles on the outside. There is a lightly cut lotus looking blossoms design around the bowl and in between the 4 draped panels with a cut diamond design. The stem is a lovely sculptured nude lady with a robe draped over one leg. She holds the bowl in one hand on her head. The base is cicular with a starburst design on underneath. The compote measures about 12 1/2" tall ... moreand 8" wide across the top rim. The base measures about 4 1/2" wide. It has a silver and blue label on the base which reads 24% pbo which I believe means lead crystal.It also has what looks like" roct 30407-96" on the label. There is also a worn blue and silver label on the bowl but I can't read the characters as they are foreign. Possibly Slovakian, Czech or Russian although I can't be sure. There is a bird with an open wing on it with the number 1756r The bowl was purchased at an antique dealer's estate sale but I was unable to learn much about it. It is in very good condition. I can see no chips on the rim but see a few light scratches which are very minor. This is a lovely tall Art Deco style compote. Thanks for looking. This starburst pattern cut crystal glass has an amazing amount of gold on this compote bowl. The bowl has a lovely floral gilted brass center screw. Between the beautiful bowl and the glass stem is a wonderful gilted brass leaf pattern that the prisms hang from. The stem of the piece is a solid diamond shape glass. The prisms on this antique compote picks up great color. The brass ornate filigree pattern and marble base is a beautiful addition to this stunning compote. When this piece is in the light the gold just catches the eye. The antique compote measures 8" tall and the cut crystal gold highlighted bowl measures 8 1/2 across x 4 1/2" deep. Antique Sterling & Vaseline Glass Compote Centerpiece
This vaseline glass and sterling compote stands 7 1/2" tall. The glass bowl is 5 1/2" x 8" x 2 3/4" deep. The silver base is in the shape of an inverted shell. Beautifully done as could only be made around the turn of the century. If you look closely at the figure, she is a mermaid wiht what appears to be lions feet? There are no markings that we can find. The glass is nearly perfect with virtually no scratches.
