The entire dish including the lid measures 9" tall by 6 and 3/4" across. There are no marks on the dish to identify who made this or when it was made. Late 19th Century Amber Hobnail Glass Bust of Woman Compote, Scarce!
Up for your bidding consideration we are offering this scarce late 19th century amber glass bust of woman compote. In a hobnail pattern. Looking to date from the 1880's to 1890's, compote features a Victorian era lady bust for the stem, with pearls around her neck and flowing hair. Inside of base has a simple floral pattern, underside of top is hobnailed, with ribbed sides. Color is a very nice honey amber, with a number of bubbles in one section. Condition is excellent with no cracks, chips or wear, other than honest base wear. Measures 8 1/2" across top, 7 3/4" high and 4 7/8" diameter at base. I cannot find this pattern. Stunning~Beautiful~Elegant~OLD~ is just a few words that describe this Amber Stainned Daisy Button Thumbprint Compote The Compote does have some roughness around each cut thumbprint panel. It is common with the eapg. However this compote. Edges by the panels seem more rough than normal. Here again, feel like maybe this was just the way they are made and someone was taking a short cut or did not finish smoothing the glass. I have several pieces of the EAPG listed and most of it. Is in really GOOD CONDITION ... morefor it's age. Looks to have been taken well care of and probably lived in a curio cabinet for many years. You may or may not find things such as a few bubbles in the glass. Roughness around edges or strawmarks. These, if found, are natural from the creation process. The EAPG pieces that I am listing are well over a 100 years old and I am sure if you look hard enough. You will find a few small area's where the yellow stain has flaked, or scratched. This is all very minor and there is not a area on any of the glass that I feel is bad enough to even try and get a picture of it. If this is a concern-please supersize the pictures. If there was to be any major damage on a piece, I will mention it. I do detect some roughness around the edges of the panneled thumbprint. Maybe some tiny flea bites or could just be the way they were made. My grandmother shared this unique dish with my aunt who later shared it with me. My grandmother has been gone 28 years. So I can vouch this is a geniune antique! I've long liked the sandwich glass pattern and the story of it coming in cereal boxes as affordable glassware promotions, but rarely have I encountered this amber color which has an iridescense finish, similar to carnival glass. Also this fluted edged bowl is uncommon and unique. It measures 2 inches high at the highest point of the ruffle and has a maximum diameter of 10 inches. Quite a special find! Cleaning out my Mothers things. Some time ago, I came across this compote/ candy dish looking thing. I know that the metal is not magnetic and I think the prisms are plastic, but I don't know for sure. I have had it for over twenty years in my possession and I don't know how long Mom had it. It looks good in the sun and there are no cracks or chips on the glass. I do feel a slightly rough spot in one section of the inside rim but I can't see chips I just feel roughness. Estate sale. This is a Vintage Amber bowl on a pedestal of brass and marble. It measures just under 11" tall and approximately 9" across the bowl. The brass base shows 4 decorative scrolled feet resting on a 4"x4" 3/4" thick marble base. It could easily be made into a lamp or just displayed in you Traditional Victorian decor' There are 5-3" including hook) double bobble prisms hanging from the brass cleats. 2 are missing and the piece is loose but can be easily tightened. I don't want to try& tighten w/out proper tools. It's a 1930-1950's circa piece and there are NO cracks or chips. The inside of the bowl shows some aging considering how old the piece is. Very nice Antique diamond point cut Amber flash/ stained compote. Glass bowl features alternating clear and amber glass 1 inch panels that taper into a clear diamond cut design. This compote is in good( not perfect) condition. The original metal hardware shows its age. There are 2 clear panels that have tiny flea bite marks on the rim. The bowl rests atop of an acrylic amber polygon shaped(6 sided) support that attaches to the unpolished brass( floral and leaf shaped support. The metal leaves each have a spot for prisms. No prisms are included as they have long since been removed. The 4 inch diameter marble base shows some nicks( no cracks) This compote is very heavy and weighs over 4 lbs. without packaging. ANTIQUE VICTORIAN FIGURAL AMBER GLASS COMPOTE PEDESTAL BOWL STEMMED CANDY DISH
For sale is a beautiful. Very old Victorian amber glass figural compote. It has a figural stem with 4 heads(I think they are lions, but it is hard to tell) around the middle as well as other lovely detailing on the stem as well. It is in very fine condition- no chips, cracks, etc. I am not sure how it was made, but the glass contains lots of bubbles and there is a pontil on the bottom. The heads are all a little bit different, which make me think that the various parts of the stem were blown separately and then put together. It is unique- you will not see another like it. It measures 7 inches tall and 5 5/8 inches in diameter. A really lovely, old piece. Please email any questions. It does however have a rough edge from making on the stem of the compote. This can not be seen when displayed as it goes inside of the brass stem. The prisms are glass and are in fair condition with a few nicks and chips. It is 10 1/4" tall and 7" wide across the top. The brass stem is a little banged up with an ornate design and weighted bottom. Item is being sold as is and the prisms are being removed for shipping due to their delicate nature.
