Extremely well made, rich texture, and gorgeous design. ... moreIt measures approx 2'10" x 6 feet(34 x 72 inches) Not including the 2.5 inch fringe on either side. Weighs almost 5 lbs. Photos taken outside in cloudy afternoon light. Looks fabulous! A bit of wear. A few spots, and some of the blue wool rags shows small holes(2nd last photo) No repairs. There are loose black threads throughout, used to sew the rags into strips for weaving. There are less on the side that seems to have been up; likely the threads came off through use. But the rug shows little use- looks wonderful! This rug came out of a VERY dusty old attic, and really needs cleaning. That attic held many other long-forgotten antique hooked and rag rugs. We'll be listing them all. Check out these fabulous pieces!

Check out my! 0 false 18 pt 18 pt 0 0 false false false What a beautiful piece. The bowl of the compote is frosted crystal in a pleated glass. Trimmed on top in a gilt bronze. Attached at either end are rococo design handles. Edging the top of the bowl is a looped garland of gilded roses. The inside center of the bowl is painted in a 24k gold tulip design. The bowl sits on a ½ ring of rococo guilding. The base of the dish is painted in a 24k gold design. This compote is in very good condition. There is a tiny nick on the edge of the base. The compote measures 7in in diam. across the bowl x 7 1/2in tall x 4 1/2in in diam. across the base.

Looking to date from the 1880's to 1890's, compote features a Victorian era lady bust for the stem, with pearls around her neck and flowing hair. Inside of base has a simple floral pattern, underside of top is hobnailed, with ribbed sides. Color is a very nice honey amber, with a number of bubbles in one section. Condition is excellent with no cracks, chips or wear, other than honest base wear. Measures 8 1/2" across top, 7 3/4" high and 4 7/8" diameter at base. I cannot find this pattern. Rare Free Blown Antique Ruby Flash Painted Glass Compote 19th Century. Unusual ruby flash painted glass compote. Blown and constructed in three parts. As you would expect of a 19th century piece. In this case, the hollow conical foot has been joined to the bowl with a socle. The piece has been painted all over with translucent red, then opaque tan with gilt highlights. It dates to the second half of the 19th century. The compote is 6 1/8 inches wide by 5 1/4 inches tall. It weighs 1 lb(2 lb shipping weight) Condition: very good. Welcome to my auction for this delightful pair of English hand painted floral compotes. They are unmarked on the backside which indicates they are mid-19th century and definitely English- probably Coalport or Minton. Beautifully rendered floral arrangement in the center- executed by a highly skilled craftsman. Attention to detail is amazing. Flowers are vivid and crisp. Lovely pink. Cream and gold trim on borders surrounding the sprays and highlighting the base. MEASUREMENTS: PLATE DIAMETER- 8 1/2" BASE DIAMETER- 4 1/2" HEIGHT- 2 1/2" CONDITION: Both compotes are in pristine condition. There are no chips. Cracks, hairlines or paint/gold loss. Antique 19th Century Irish or English Rolled Edge Cut Crystal Glass Compote
For sale is a superb hand blown antique compote in excellent condition. It measures 12 inches high by 6 inches wide. It's origin is most likely Irish or English from the mid eighteen hundreds. The crystal blank used is super clear and rings like a bell. This compote is a work of art with a rolled edge and amazingly difficult cuts all away around the border. The other detailed cuts are done to perfection. I did a close up inspection for cracks and chips and could only find a couple of very tiny flecks on the cuts around the rolled cut edge. They are so small I missed them the first time around. I'm not even sure if they are actual very tiny flecks or just natural from the cutting process because the edges are so sharp. The are very hard to see and too small to photograph but I want to make sure I describe as accurately as possible. ... moreThe bottom of the foot has normal wear from sitting on the shelf. ANTIQUE 19th Century HAND MADE GLASS FOOTED COMPOTE Ruffled Rim Oval Faceted Gorgeous antique compote measuring 9" tall and spanning out to 8.25" across the top. This dates to roughly the 1890's and is hand-made glass standing on a heavy solid glass base and stem. The compote bowl has a lovely ruffled rim and oval facets/thumbprints cut all around the sides.
