ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! I do not know if it is glass or crystal. It does have a beautiful"ping" to it when tapped. It measures 8" tall. Marble base is 5" in diameter. Compote is 7" in diameter& 2" tall& has several"U" shaped cutouts. Crystal/glass is 3/4" thick at the thickest part. It is very heavy. Weighing 5 lbs 9 oz. We rarely see compotes in this pattern and this one is a beauty in Excellent Condition. The top edge of the bowl has a rim of fans and the pattern beneath the fans is quite striking. Blocks of different sizes continue all around the sides. The center of the bowl has 4 rows of blocks in gradually decreasing size. Giving the bowl a beautiful appearance when viewed from the top. To the filigree on the compote, to the attention to detail at the top of the lid, It is primarily marigold in color with clear glass accents throughout. This has been in my personal collection for some time and is in great shape. No chips or nicks, even where the lid and base meet. According to a friend who is an appraiser for an auction house. This piece is probably from the 1880s, maybe early 1890s. The piece is large, standing 12.5" tall to the top of the finial on the lid, and weighs about 5.5 pounds. without the lid, the dish is about 8.5" tall, 9.5" wide and 7.25" deep(last 2 measurements taken at the top of the dish) There are etched leaf decorations in 4 locations on the dish. The pictures are taken of all 4 sides, then the top, then the bottom. This item is being sold"as is" The condition of the piece is very good plus to excellent. With no chips or cracks I can see or feel. There are a few very small bubbles/imperfections ... morein the glass(so small. They do not pick up well in the photographs) There is some roughness along a few of the edges. Probably from the manufacturing process. I am not an expert. This listing is offering for bids a very choice and beautiful Pattern Glass 3 mold pedestal Compote that is 8 inches across the top. 2 1/2 inches deep and stands 5 inches high. The bowl of the compote has a 2 in band clear around it containing a frosted panel containing flowers. The three are at the ends of the mold seams. Then there are panels in the rest of the band. The first panel has a train crossing the river on a stone arch bridge. The the second panel has a mountain in the background and a Lake in the foreground. On the shore is a log cabin. The third panel has a Lake in the foreground with a sail Boat. There is a Log Cabin on shore in the woods. There are three things to mention that are not ... moredefects but are in the glass. 1st.A small dent in the rim at the end of one of the mold marks. 2nd. there are 2 small ruptures inside the glass, on the bottom of the bowl. This compote is really a beautiful piece.

Antique Gold Gilded Brass Eagles Footed Art Glass Pedestal Compote Urn Vase
This is a beautiful antique gold gilded brass Eagles footed art glass pedestal compote or urn or vase. Including the Eagles. It measures 9 1/4 inches tall(23.5 cm) Without the Eagles, it measures 8 3/4 inches tall(22.2 cm) The glass section measures 4 1/2 inches tall(11.4 cm) The bottom brass part also measures 4 1/2 inches tall(11.4 cm) The top opening is 3 1/4 inches wide(8.3 cm) Measuring from one corner of a foot to another corner of a foot it's 3 5/8 inches wide(9.3 cm) The glass is frosted and has great-looking tiny ovals all over. I don't know how this effect was created. The handles are highly detailed Eagle heads. The base has beautiful detail also. Including the 4 feet. I don't think it's bronze because it's not heavy enough. So it must be brass. But the intricate detail is wonderful. The rim around the top of ... morethe frosted glass has a very slight bend in it(please see photo) There is a slight chip when you take it apart where the brass meets the glass. But it's inside and doesn't show when you screw the little piece of brass back that connects the base with the glass(please see photo) There is also a small chip where the top of the glass meets the brass. But it's on the inside. However. You can see it if you look at it from a certain angle(please see photo) It has a great old rich patina to it. Surprisingly. It's not marked with a company name. This is a Heavy and Beautiful Candy Dish or Compote. It is made of thick press/cut glass with brilliant pattern of double star or arches. The Metal is casted really thick and has a nice antique but shiny look. It appears to be brass as best as I can describe the color. It is very heavy and thick. the base is lush and scrolling with 4 feet and pedestal design. the glass bowl is held on by a ornate brass fitting and the lid has a matching finial knob that looks like a pine cone or an artichoke. stands 10" tall. 6.5" wide at base and bowl is 6" wide. Found no chips or damage the glass or its rims. The base is very nice and shiny. Antique Glass Compote w/Metal Pedestal & Serpent Dragon Handles
This is a very old fluted glass compote with schalloped edge that is mounted on a brass colored metal base and decorated with serpent-like metal handles. There is no indication on the dish as to where it was made. Who made it, or what the metal material is. It was given to my mother in the 1950's by a very wealthy lady whom she worked for. It looked old then, but I have no other information about the compote. It always sat on our dining room buffet and usually held artificial fruit. The compote dish itself can be removed from the base by unscrewing the knob in the center of the bowl. There are no chips or cracks in the heavy glass. One of the serpent head handles is cracked(pictured) and has a slight bend at the top. There are some small paint chips located on the lower part of one of the serpent handles and by his mouth. The compote ... morebowl is an oval shape that measures 9 1/2 inches long and 6 1/2 inches wide. It is a little over 6 inches to the top edge of the bowl. The over-all height including the handles is 8 inches and over-all length is 13 inches.

Vintage Embossed Clear Glass Pedestal Compote Dish with Metal Base GIM#3027 In EXCELLENT CONDITION! No cracks. Chips or anything of this nature! This piece is large enough to be used as a fruit bowl and small enough to fill with candies or nuts without looking out of place. The top rim is smooth as well as the interior. The exterior is embossed with pretty designs that reflect the light and colors of anything added beautifully although I do not believe this is crystal. I am fairly certain it is pressed glass. The interior bottom has a flat head screw that tightens the metal base to the glass. The ornate base appears to have a brass finish. Measures about 6-7/8" in height x 10-5/8" in diameter along the top rim. Weighs just about 3 lbs 8 oz(packaging weight not included) Clean and ready for use!
