UP for your consideration this week is a really beautiful German Lead Crystal Footed Compote Dish with Lid Size- Approximately 9 3/4"H x 20"D Description: Compote has three footed feet. Is adorned with beautiful cut flowers, and the detail is stunning. This is a heavy piece. It's sure to be a wonderful conversation piece. Compote does have original sticker. Note- I am going through a lot of my grandmothers crystal. I came across this lovely compote that was given to her by my grandfather. When they were stationed in Germany. Just so you know. It is a little dusty so the new owner will want to clean it. I did not attempt to clean because I did not want to ruin the sticker. This piece was kept in my grandmothers Curio Cabinet. Crystal-Sterling Silver Base-Covered Candy Dish-Compote-See Hallmarks-Victorian
Gorgeous Victorian period Crystal and Sterling Silver covered compote or candy dish. Total height is 12. Diameter inside bowl is 5. Sterling base is 3" tall. Look at photos#7 and#8 to see dents to the silver base. There are no chips or cracks to the crystal portion. In photo#10 there is a slight"bump" on the inside of the cover's rim. It is smooth and you can only feel it from the inside. Bottom is covered in a felt like material. We spent quite a bit of time trying to decipher the hallmarks with little success. Here they are: CM8 inside a cross-Right facing Lion over the numeral 2-Sovereign Head which looks like a lady wearing a bonnet facing left-Letter C inside a round indention Help on the hallmarks would be greatly appreciated. ANTIQUE/VINTAGE CUT BLOCK EAPG (?) CRYSTAL Glass COMPOTE candy dish with LID
I wish I could tell you exact information on this compote but I cannot. An antiques expert told me it is called Cut Block but there are no markings on it. It is 9" tall with the lid and 6" tall without the lid. The lid is curved to match the curves on the base of the compote and it fits into these curves perfectly. The base is scalloped. The stem of the base has a drape pattern and you can see the inside of the stem which resembles a blown bubble- but is simply the inside of the stem. My mother has this exact compote but in a 12" tall size that she has had for more than 50 years. She bought hers originally in an antique shop. this compote has no damage and very little wear on the bottom so it may have been stored in a china cabinet. The glass is very clear.

ANTIQUE VICTORIAN CRYSTAL COMPOTE PEDESTAL CENTER BOWL STEMMED CANDY DISH
This is an exquisite heavy lead crystal Victorian piece that rings that crystal ring! It has a reverse thumbprint pattern around the bottom of the bowl and around the foot. And a bubble pattern around the top of the bowl. The whole piece measures 7-1/4" tall and the bowl is 8 3/8" in diameter at its widest point. Condition is very nice for its age: I see no cracks. Breaks, chips, or repairs. There are bubbles and scratches in the glass, but since I cannot feel any of them, they may be, literally, IN the glass: In other words, a product of this compote being manufactured a very long time ago. This is a Heavy and Beautiful Candy Dish or Compote. It is made of thick press/cut glass with brilliant pattern of double star or arches. The Metal is casted really thick and has a nice antique but shiny look. It appears to be brass as best as I can describe the color. It is very heavy and thick. the base is lush and scrolling with 4 feet and pedestal design. the glass bowl is held on by a ornate brass fitting and the lid has a matching finial knob that looks like a pine cone or an artichoke. stands 10" tall. 6.5" wide at base and bowl is 6" wide. Found no chips or damage the glass or its rims. The base is very nice and shiny. Etched Glass Crystal Pedestal Compote Candy Dish
Unfortunately I don't know anything about this item other than the fact that it has a beautiful intricate pattern. The pictures are the best indicator of what this item is like. It appears to be etched crystal. The texture pattern is on the outside of the bowl. And the underside of the base. The top of the base and inside of the bowl are smooth surfaces. There are four rows(one on each side) of six raised teardrop-shaped decorations on the inside of the bowl. They are larger at the top and get progressively smaller as they near the bottom of the bowl. There is a tiny air bubble in the stem, and there is a small chip on the lower edge of the base. Please see last two photos. It stands about 6 3/4 inches tall, 7 3/4 inches wide at the top, and 3 3/4 wide at the base. Shipping to United States only.

Hollywood Regency Style Crystal Compote Dish with Brass Base This stunning piece stands approx. 11 3/4' tall and 10" at the widest part. The oval-shaped bowl has alligator teeth cut around the edge. Both wide sides have a pear and leaf motif. It is a heavy high quality piece; weighs in at about 7 lbs 11 oz. It is in excellent condition with no chips. Cracks or repairs noted.
