Is adorned with beautiful cut flowers, and the detail is stunning. This is a heavy piece. It's sure to be a wonderful conversation piece. Compote does have original sticker. Note- I am going through a lot of my grandmothers crystal. I came across this lovely compote that was given to her by my grandfather. When they were stationed in Germany. Just so you know. It is a little dusty so the new owner will want to clean it. I did not attempt to clean because I did not want to ruin the sticker. This piece was kept in my grandmothers Curio Cabinet. You are bidding on: AN EARLY AMERICAN PRESSED GLASS LIDDED CANDY DISH OR COMPOTE. ADAMS& CO. VALENCIA WAFFLE PANEL PATTERN IN COMBINED ICE BLUE AND CLEAR GLASS. Here's a BEAUTIFUL find from an estate purchase; this came from a very old household in central Kentucky. And I've had it in my collection for a couple years now. This is Adams& Co. Glass. Produced in the vicinity of Pittsburgh with this particular pattern being produced 1885-1891. The pattern has alternating panels of two designs on each side, also known as block and stars. The bottom is in ice blue color, and the top is clear. I am not sure if the manufacturer originally sold mixed colors, or if someone combined the two matching pieces over the years, but I do know it works, and it's striking! Stands about 8 inches tall and 8 1/2 inches wide on the diagonal; ... morequite heavy and really more substantial than you might guess from the photos. Please know that I am extremely tough in grading my pottery. Porcelain and glassware: I've been collecting. Selling and trading antique items for over 30 years, so I know that the only perfect piece is one that just left the factory. And even then it probably has some original-manufacture flaws. I tend to call out flaws that other sellers might not notice or conveniently overlook, so when I tell you it's right, it's right. I want everybody happy. That being said. Here's what I'd note to condition: The lid has surface flakes and small chips at each of the corners of the rim, where glass meets glass. The base has a similar flake at two rim corners. None of this is really visible without close inspection, as it occurs in the edge of the rim only, and does not extend into any cracks or breaks. There is also a faint bit of cloudiness in base glass just under the rim area, probably the effect of trapped moisture, only visible if you hold it up to bright light. All things considered, pretty stunning that a piece of 130-year-old decorative glassware should survive in this state, and you can&

Etched floral design. The bowl measures 7.75 Inches across the top. It's 7.25 Inches high and has a 5.5 inch base. Overall its in beautiful condition with no scratches. Cracks or repairs. Upon close examination I count 5 small dings to the edge. They are small and hard to see and don't distract from the overall beauty of the piece. Please see the pictures. Displays very well. ANTIQUE/VINTAGE CUT BLOCK EAPG (?) CRYSTAL Glass COMPOTE candy dish with LID
I wish I could tell you exact information on this compote but I cannot. An antiques expert told me it is called Cut Block but there are no markings on it. It is 9" tall with the lid and 6" tall without the lid. The lid is curved to match the curves on the base of the compote and it fits into these curves perfectly. The base is scalloped. The stem of the base has a drape pattern and you can see the inside of the stem which resembles a blown bubble- but is simply the inside of the stem. My mother has this exact compote but in a 12" tall size that she has had for more than 50 years. She bought hers originally in an antique shop. this compote has no damage and very little wear on the bottom so it may have been stored in a china cabinet. The glass is very clear.

Antique Victorian Large Pressed Glass Pedestal Compote Dish with Lid- 12.5" Tall This auction is for a Victorian pressed glass pedestal compote dish with lid. According to a friend who is an appraiser for an auction house. This piece is probably from the 1880s, maybe early 1890s. The piece is large, standing 12.5" tall to the top of the finial on the lid, and weighs about 5.5 pounds. without the lid, the dish is about 8.5" tall, 9.5" wide and 7.25" deep(last 2 measurements taken at the top of the dish) There are etched leaf decorations in 4 locations on the dish. The pictures are taken of all 4 sides, then the top, then the bottom. This item is being sold"as is" The condition of the piece is very good plus to excellent. With no chips or cracks I can see or feel. There are a few very small bubbles/imperfections ... morein the glass(so small. They do not pick up well in the photographs) There is some roughness along a few of the edges. Probably from the manufacturing process. I am not an expert. Antique Cut Flint Glass Scalloped Compote Sweet Meat Dish c 1850 - 1860
This auction is for a Fine ANTIQUE Clear Cut Flint(lead) Glass Compote circa 1850-1860. The Compote features multiple cut facets around the outside of the bowl and in the center. Bottom of the base. As was the custom of the time. This piece was made in three pieces- the bowl. The stem and the base- there are some very light internal swirl air bubbles at the join of the bowl to the stem. The Compote. Which measures approximately 6 1/2 inches long by 5 1/8 inches wide by 4 1/2 inches tall. Is in remarkably good condition. With only two shell shaped chips to the rim- both very difficult to see due to location(outside edge of the rim) and several very small nibbles- visible with a magnifying glass. This compote is one of two which I recently acquired- both were very lovingly cared for as is evident by the minimal scratches to the base and no ... morescratches to the inside of the bowl. The flint glass has the typical light grayish tint- possibly Sandwich glass. Please see my! Amber Sandwich Glass Fluted Serving Compote Dish - Very Unique!
My grandmother shared this unique dish with my aunt who later shared it with me. My grandmother has been gone 28 years. So I can vouch this is a geniune antique! I've long liked the sandwich glass pattern and the story of it coming in cereal boxes as affordable glassware promotions, but rarely have I encountered this amber color which has an iridescense finish, similar to carnival glass. Also this fluted edged bowl is uncommon and unique. It measures 2 inches high at the highest point of the ruffle and has a maximum diameter of 10 inches. Quite a special find! Vintage Embossed Clear Glass Pedestal Compote Dish/ Metal Base GIM#3027 In EXCELLENT CONDITION! No cracks. Chips or anything of this nature! This piece is large enough to be used as a fruit bowl and small enough to fill with candies or nuts without looking out of place. The top rim is smooth as well as the interior. The exterior is embossed with pretty designs that reflect the light and colors of anything added beautifully although I do not believe this is crystal. I am pretty certain it is pressed glass. The interior bottom has a flat head screw that tightens the metal base to the glass. The ornate base appears to have a brass finish. I have wanted to actually paint the base white and distress it however I decided to leave it in its original condition in case anyone prefered all portions of this compote original. It measures about 6-7/8" ... morein height x 10-5/8" in diameter along the top rim. This piece weighs just about 3 lbs 8 oz(packaging weight not included) It is a beautiful piece and is clean and ready for use!
