A VERY RARE ANTIQUE"3 FACE" COVERED GLASS COMPOTE WITH A FROSTED 3 FACE STEM.LOVELY ACID-ETCHING AROUND THE SIDES AND TOP OF THE COMPOTE.Made between 1878 and 1892 by George Duncan& Sons Glass Works(later called Duncan Miller) in Pittsburgh. PA, and designed by mold-shop superintendent, John Ernest Miller. Collectors know this Victorian pattern by several names: Three Faces, Three Graces, Three Fates, and Three Sisters. This covered compote is a combination of clear glass and acid-etched glass. The stem and base are frosted acid-etched glass and the bowl is clear with an additional acid-etched decoration of leaves and berries. That the compote has this additional etching speaks to the fact that it is not a reproduction or reissue because etching was only done on original Three Face pieces. Antique 19c French Victorian Bohemian White Frosted Satin Milk Glass Compote
Hello- This is a wonderful Satin Glass Compote. Likely made in the late 1800's to early 1900's. There is a hairline crack, that does not go all the way through the glass, but rather deep inside the glass. This can occur during the cooling process from the manufacturer and is a probably a factory defect. The crack is not sharp, and the Compote will still hold liquid. The Compote stands approx. 7" high x 6" at the widest on a 4" base. This Compote is classic Victorian Era Decor, and I'm sure you'll be pleased with this purchase. Have a Great Day!

Antique Compote-Lion on Lid Gillinder& Sons-Lion Decor Clear & Frosted Glass
Compote base is frosted with the imprint of a lion in grass on each long side. Around the bottom is a twisted rope-like edging. Base is approx. 3"x 6 1/4" The compote. Itself, is clear glass with rounded ends. Measure approx. 4 1/2"x 7 3/4" The lid is clear with the same twisted- like motif around the edge. The top of lid is frosted with a texture. Sitting on the top is a frosted lion. Sitting, head up, paws resting on a small sort of pedestal. I can find no name or manufacture. But it certainly resembles the Gillinder& Sons compote of 1877. It is an original which has been a family heirloom dating back to late 1800's or early 1900's.

This is an antique. Frosted green glass compote with a brass base. The brass base is broken(as you can see in the pictures) It could possibly be fixed or the bowl could still be used for something. The bowl is in great shape, just normal wear for an old item. The top of the bowl(at its widest) measures about 10.25 inches across and the total height of the complete compote is about the same. Antique/vintage frosted glass rippled edge tomato glass compote. Beautiful reddish-orange glass blended into green and then blended into orange at the base. Has a 1/4" ribbon-type edge that is clear/white. Stands about 5 3/4" tall. 8" across top opening and foot is about 3" wide.Has very minor wear/surface scratches on inside of bowl, and a couple of surface scratches in 2 places on outside of bowl.
