Vintage Mid Century~ Beautiful Crystal Compote with Painted Brass Pedestal and Black Marble Base Dish has a diamond shaped pattern with a cut notched edge~ it's so clear and refracts the light so nicely! The pedestal is a antique gold tone and cream color painted brass scroll and tear drop shapes. exquisite! The paint looks like it was done purposely to be a bit distressed. The base is a solid block of black marble with a golden brown grain running through it. I am guessing(although I do not know the exact age) that this piece is from about the 1960s. One scuff in the paint that can be seen in picture# 4. On the section just underneath the bowl. Otherwise flawless. No chips, scratches or cracks at all in the glass. ANTIQUE ITALIAN PRESSED GLASS MARBLE BASE COMPOTE BOWL 2 BRASS CANDLE STICKS
This was a beautiful estate sale find. Pressed glass pinwheel style with two matching candle holders. Each piece has eight sets of teardrop prisms except the bowl. It's missing one set. But they seem to be easy enough to find. I haven't done anything to them but take their pictures. The bowl stands 9 1/4" tall and 8 1/4" wide. The candle holders are 8" tall and 5" wide. They have no chips or cracks that I could find. With a little TLC these beauties can be the centerpiece of your home. Up for your consideration is a stunning Antique Cut crystal glass footed compote. It is absolutely beautiful with crystal prism teardrops that hang on a bronze or brass petal stem. It looks like the Victorian or Art Nouveau era. The compote is is very nice condition with no chips or cracks. Underneath the base shows some patina loss under the feet with the number 1031. It measures 10 1/2" tall and 7 1/2" across glass bowl rim. The base measures 3 1/2" across the feet. The bowl moves in circular fashion. Antique Gold Gilded Brass Eagles Footed Art Glass Pedestal Compote Urn Vase
This is a beautiful antique gold gilded brass Eagles footed art glass pedestal compote or urn or vase. Including the Eagles. It measures 9 1/4 inches tall(23.5 cm) Without the Eagles, it measures 8 3/4 inches tall(22.2 cm) The glass section measures 4 1/2 inches tall(11.4 cm) The bottom brass part also measures 4 1/2 inches tall(11.4 cm) The top opening is 3 1/4 inches wide(8.3 cm) Measuring from one corner of a foot to another corner of a foot it's 3 5/8 inches wide(9.3 cm) The glass is frosted and has great-looking tiny ovals all over. I don't know how this effect was created. The handles are highly detailed Eagle heads. The base has beautiful detail also. Including the 4 feet. I don't think it's bronze because it's not heavy enough. So it must be brass. But the intricate detail is wonderful. The rim around the top of ... morethe frosted glass has a very slight bend in it(please see photo) There is a slight chip when you take it apart where the brass meets the glass. But it's inside and doesn't show when you screw the little piece of brass back that connects the base with the glass(please see photo) There is also a small chip where the top of the glass meets the brass. But it's on the inside. However. You can see it if you look at it from a certain angle(please see photo) It has a great old rich patina to it. Surprisingly. It's not marked with a company name. I do not know if the bowl is cut glass or crystal, but it is lovely& refracts light beautifully. It also has a beautiful ringtone when tapped. The cast metal pedestal is very ornate and has the look of aged brass. The pedestal sits atop an Italian marble base and has 7 teardrop crystal prisms. It measures 9-3/4" tall. Antique Covered Blue Glass repousse Brass Compote, K.R. Society 1881-1931 mark
I am listing this item for my neighbor- she said she inherited from a friends estate many years ago and all she knows is it is old. It is marked on the bottom K. R. Society. 1881- 1931 and I have no other info and no idea what that stands for. It is ornately designed on top with leaves, fruit, floral and down the sides and base with a blown pale blue glass insert that is removable as shown. The top is quite heavy and fits nice and snugly in the lower part and I have no idea what is was used for or the significance of K. R. Society. Stands about 8 1/2" tall and widest seems about 4 1/2" On the lower part it seems like a little peapod with 6 peas- not sure if that is some type of hallmark but it is only in one place and not repeated. For me this is one of a kind. I can't find any information on it. The base on the bottom is marked 8303 and nothing more. The base is heavy and appears to be pressed into the glass. The brass base shows 4 decorative scrolled feet resting on a 4"x4" 3/4" thick marble base. It could easily be made into a lamp or just displayed in you Traditional Victorian decor' There are 5-3" including hook) double bobble prisms hanging from the brass cleats. 2 are missing and the piece is loose but can be easily tightened. The curved green glass compote is approximately 10.5" across with a nice dotted bubble pattern in the middle accented with the decorative floral design center. The green compote appears more olive in color while the 7 teardrop shaped prisms are more lime green in color. The use of the 2 different shades of green are what I think makes this a striking piece.
