Rare 1882 EAPG Adams Post by Adams & Co. Open Compote Pressed Glass with a ridge and panels. Clear glass compote is 7" High and 5.5" square. There are ... moresome bubbles and some 'swirls' from the manufacturing process. There are also rough edges where the glass sections meet, as expected. On the feet, the edges are rough and I think one foot actually has a very, very small flea bite and though I can't see it, it feels like one. Please examine picture carefully. There are a few surface scratches on a couple of the upper panels, but one must look very closely. Overall, this Early American Pattern piece is in outstanding shape. Thanks for looking!

ANTIQUE FLINT Glass Compote Boston & Sandwich c.1840's PETAL & LOOP Pattern EAPG
Antique Boston& Sandwich Flint Glass Compote c.1840 Petal& Loop Pattern Very Early High Resonance Flint Glass DESCRIPTION An unusual base on this bowl! A Boston& Sandwich early flint glass compote in the Petal& Loop Pattern made circa 1840 with a gorgeous silvery luster to the glass. Many Pennsylvania glass companies of a much later period made similar compotes in what they called LOOP- PETAL or TULIP pattern. None have the exact same design or beauty of this honest to goodness Boston& Sandwich Glass piece. The compote has a fiery brilliance. A very silvery apperance to the glass. This was made with a high content of flint giving it a very deep resonant sound when struck, the tone lingers like a bronze bell. In fact, when you just lightly touch this bowl you can hear a faint ring. a remarkable early piece of flint glass! ... moreThe entire design of the bowl is very deeply molded. It has 12 flaring petals that are 1/2" thick and drop down just below the bottom edge of the bowl. The underside of the bowl is quite unusual with it's 6 deep molded circles. The open pedestal base repeats the design of the bowl. This is a very early Boston& Sandwich Flint compote. With it's unusal design to the base of the bowl and the deep joining of the pedestal and bowl. The bowl and the pedestal were made separately and joined together with the typical wafer of molten glass. However on this one the pedestal was pushed well up into the base and you can see were the molten glass of the wafer was pushed out along the edges where the pedestal and bowl meet. Very heavy. This compote weighs more than 4-1/2 lbs. Size: 10-1/4" across x 6-1/4" high x 5" across the base. CONDITION Very Good Condition Expected straw marks from the press and some bubbles. There is some minor wear visable. You can feel a light roughness on the rim edge of a few of the petals and there is one tiny chip on the underside of one petal. Another small chip on the edge of the base. Expected table wear to the base of the pede

EAPG CANDY DISH COMPOTE ~1890 ADAMS & CO. GLASS VALENCIA WAFFLE ICE BLUE +CLEAR
You are bidding on: AN EARLY AMERICAN PRESSED GLASS LIDDED CANDY DISH OR COMPOTE. ADAMS& CO. VALENCIA WAFFLE PANEL PATTERN IN COMBINED ICE BLUE AND CLEAR GLASS. Here's a BEAUTIFUL find from an estate purchase; this came from a very old household in central Kentucky. And I've had it in my collection for a couple years now. This is Adams& Co. Glass. Produced in the vicinity of Pittsburgh with this particular pattern being produced 1885-1891. The pattern has alternating panels of two designs on each side, also known as block and stars. The bottom is in ice blue color, and the top is clear. I am not sure if the manufacturer originally sold mixed colors, or if someone combined the two matching pieces over the years, but I do know it works, and it's striking! Stands about 8 inches tall and 8 1/2 inches wide on the diagonal; ... morequite heavy and really more substantial than you might guess from the photos. Please know that I am extremely tough in grading my pottery. Porcelain and glassware: I've been collecting. Selling and trading antique items for over 30 years, so I know that the only perfect piece is one that just left the factory. And even then it probably has some original-manufacture flaws. I tend to call out flaws that other sellers might not notice or conveniently overlook, so when I tell you it's right, it's right. I want everybody happy. That being said. Here's what I'd note to condition: The lid has surface flakes and small chips at each of the corners of the rim, where glass meets glass. The base has a similar flake at two rim corners. None of this is really visible without close inspection, as it occurs in the edge of the rim only, and does not extend into any cracks or breaks. There is also a faint bit of cloudiness in base glass just under the rim area, probably the effect of trapped moisture, only visible if you hold it up to bright light. All things considered, pretty stunning that a piece of 130-year-old decorative glassware should survive in this state, and you can&

Fresh to the market is this wonderful antique piece of EAPG glass from 1885. The pattern is SHERATON also known as IDA and it was produced by Bryce. Higbee& Co. It is getting harder and harder to find these old 100+ year old. Made in the USA glass pieces and this one is in great shape. There are no chips or cracks. There is some minor rough areas on edge which I believe was the way it was created as they are not chips. The bowl contains a straw mark, also indicative of old glass, and there are bubbles in the glass bowl! None of these are defects, just indications of OLD glass and the way it was produced back then. EAPG Daisy Button Thumbprint Elegant Compote w Lid Canary Yellow Crystal Compote
EAPG Daisy Button Thumbprint Elegant Compote w Lid Canary Yellow Crystal Compote ADAMS GLASS/US GLASS CO FACTORY A EAPG~Early American Pattern Glass DAISY BUTTON THUMBPRINT PATTERN CIRCA 1886~1891 Compote with Lid Measures aprox. 8 inches tall with lid on. Without lid is 4 inches tall x 6 1/2 inches~SQUARE, measuring bottom of compote. PLEASE~Supersize the pictures as they serve as a huge part of my description. Stunning~Beautiful~Elegant~OLD~ is just a few words that describe this Canary Yellow Daisy Button Thumbprint Compote The covered Compote does have a flaw that is not mentioned below. I am not real sure if it is a flaw or was made this way. I almost did not notice this. But once I did, it was easy to spot again. Inside the bowl there appears to be a wicked crack in the crystal. However I cannot feel this crack on the inside or outside ... moreof the compote. I really think it is, within the glass? It starts from one of the side thumbprint panels. THere are different cuts in the panels and it looks like this mentioned flaw starts in the same area where a cut was made to form the panels. I tried to show you in the pictures the flaw but it was real hard to get a good photo of the flaw. See pictures, 8& 9. The 8th picture, I darkened quite a bit, hoping you will be able to see this flaw. I have several pieces of the EAPG listed and it all. Is in really GOOD CONDITION for it's age. Looks to have been taken well care of and probably lived in a curio cabinet for many years. You may or may not find things such as a few bubbles in the glass. Roughness around edges or strawmarks. These, if found, are natural from the creation process. The EAPG pieces that I am listing are well over a 100 years old and I am sure if you look hard enough. You will find a few small area's where the yellow stain has flaked, or scratched. This is all very minor and there is not a area on any of the glass that I feel is bad enough to even try and get a picture of it. If this is a concern-please supersize the pictures. If there was to b

ANTIQUE/VINTAGE CUT BLOCK EAPG (?) CRYSTAL Glass COMPOTE candy dish with LID
I wish I could tell you exact information on this compote but I cannot. An antiques expert told me it is called Cut Block but there are no markings on it. It is 9" tall with the lid and 6" tall without the lid. The lid is curved to match the curves on the base of the compote and it fits into these curves perfectly. The base is scalloped. The stem of the base has a drape pattern and you can see the inside of the stem which resembles a blown bubble- but is simply the inside of the stem. My mother has this exact compote but in a 12" tall size that she has had for more than 50 years. She bought hers originally in an antique shop. this compote has no damage and very little wear on the bottom so it may have been stored in a china cabinet. The glass is very clear.

EAPG Daisy Button Thumbprint Elegant Open Compote Amber Stain Crystal Compote
EAPG Daisy Button Thumbprint Elegant Open Compote Amber Stain Crystal Compote ADAMS GLASS/US GLASS CO FACTORY A EAPG~Early American Pattern Glass DAISY BUTTON THUMBPRINT PATTERN CIRCA 1886~1891 Compote w No Lid Measures aprox. 5 5/8 inches tall x 5 1/2 inches~SQUARE. PLEASE~Supersize the pictures as they serve as a huge part of my description. Stunning~Beautiful~Elegant~OLD~ is just a few words that describe this Amber Stainned Daisy Button Thumbprint Compote The Compote does have some roughness around each cut thumbprint panel. It is common with the eapg. However this compote. Edges by the panels seem more rough than normal. Here again, feel like maybe this was just the way they are made and someone was taking a short cut or did not finish smoothing the glass. I have several pieces of the EAPG listed and most of it. Is in really GOOD CONDITION ... morefor it's age. If there was to be any major damage on a piece, I will mention it. I do detect some roughness around the edges of the panneled thumbprint. Maybe some tiny flea bites or could just be the way they were made. Questions or comments are always a welcome and we Thank-You for your interest~Carol FYI"John Adams started in the glass business as an apprentice previous to 1846. In 1851. Adams opened his own glass factory. By 1861, it was considered one of the largest glass factories in the Pittsburgh area. After purchasing the burned out factory si
Lovely EAPG Button & Daisy Scalloped Edge Compote or Footed Centerpiece Bowl
This auction is for a Lovely Early American Pattern Glass Compote or Footed Centerpiece Bowl. It is in a Striking Button and Daisy and scalloped edge pattern. I am not certain of the pattern name or the maker. By its form and feel. It appears to be EAPG. It is in good overall condition. There are several small areas in the upper wall with scratches(last photo) and the scalloped edge in the middle of the piece has some roughness to the edges as is expected from a EAPG pattern like this. The piece stands about 7 3/4 inches tall and is about 7 inches wide. The glass is very clear. Especially at the vertical pedestal. Please check my other auctions as I am selling other antique glass pieces and will combine shipping whenever possible. Also check my feedback and buy with confidence. I only accept PayPal and only ship within the contiguous US. ... morePennsylvania buyers pay 6-percent sales tax.

ANTIQUE FLINT GLASS EARLY AMERICAN PRESSED GLASS LOOP PATTERN FOOTED COMPOTE C1860S I SHIP WORLDWIDE ATTENTION UK AND NON-US BIDDERS: Please note that if you are following my sales on a regular basis you should log onto the Ebay U.S.A. site rather than the Ebay.UK site in order to see the complete selection of auction items I have listed at any given time. For some reason the Ebay U.K. site filters from view the posting of sales by U.S. sellers containing the names of some of the better and more highly collectable English and German porcelain companies. I have no idea why this is. However, I do ship worldwide so you are welcome to bid on any of the items. IMPORTANT BIDDING AND PAYMENT INFORMATION: IF YOU PLAN TO BID ON THIS ITEM AND ARE THE HIGH BIDDER I WOULD LIKE TO ASK THAT YOU DO NOT PAY ME UNTIL YOU RECEIVE MY INVOICE NOT THE INVOICE ... moreTHAT IS GENERATED IMMEDIATELY AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE SALE BY EBAY. Ebay now has rules that all sellers MUST ship items for which they have been paid within one business day without exception. Those who follow my sales and have bought from me over the years know that I have always had a policy of shipping within 24 hours of a sale(see my feedback) However, there are times when I am out of town unexpectedly for a house call, an auction or an estate call and it simply is not possible to get to the post office in time. Also, if you find that there is more than one item you are interested in bidding on over a given time period and would like to take advantage of combined shipping, please again, DO NOT pay me until the last of those items you're watching has finished. I will then send you an invoice with an adjusted shipping fee which saves on postage. I never charge a"handling fee" I would rather wait a few days on a payment and extend you the advantage of lower shipping fees than to be paid immediately- not ship- and then be scored negatively by eBay for not shipping soon enough. Offered in this sale is a big bold and impressive early American pressed flint glass foo
Antique LOTUS Flower Blooms Buds Vines COMPOTE c.1890's STIPPLED Background EAPG
Antique Pattern Glass Compote c.1890's Lotus Flowers with Stippled Background DESCRIPTION A beautiful and very unusual design to this antique pattern glass compote. This was made c.1890's or earlier and is in Excellent Condition. The design is of Lotus flowers. Full open blooms, partially open flowers and tiny buds all with trailing vines. The background is stippled and there is beading around the rim and the pedestal base. Made in a four part mold, the bowl and base are one, the mold lines clearly visable. When struck this has a good ring, not as deep and as resonant as very early flint glass, but still with that lovely ring that denotes leaded glass. The pattern name is a mystery to us. We have an extensive library of pattern glass books but did not find it listed. Nor could we find another piece of glass on the internet with this ... moremarvelous detailed design. The Lotus Flower pattern is delightful and quite dimensional, far more prominent than many other stippled background EAPG patterns that we have sold in the past. If you know the name or the origin, please email us we would be delighted to add the information to the listing. This is an antique and does glow yellow under a black light. Size: 7-1/2" high- 9" across the rim- 4-3/4" across the base Weight: 3-1/2 lbs. CONDITION In Excellent MINT Condition No utensil marks. No chips, no cracks, no hair lines. An Absolute Beauty!
