Dimensions: eight inches high; 10 and 5/8 inches diameter at the top; 4 and 7/8 inches diameter at the base. It is very heavy. Its size will require packing that goes over 12 inches. For sale is a lovely antique covered pedestal compote with a very pretty design in it.I do not know what the pattern is called.It stands approx. 13 1/2" tall with the lid on and measures 8" across the opening.Has a couple straw marks and bubbles in the glass but no chips or cracks.This is really a lovely piece and would look wonderful with fruit or salad in it.This will have to be shipped in an over-size box so wait for the exact charges after the auction before paying.

The pictures do not do this piece justice. This is a stunning crystal cut glass with gold highlights compote. This starburst pattern cut crystal glass has an amazing amount of gold on this compote bowl. The bowl has a lovely floral gilted brass center screw. Between the beautiful bowl and the glass stem is a wonderful gilted brass leaf pattern that the prisms hang from. The stem of the piece is a solid diamond shape glass. The prisms on this antique compote picks up great color. The brass ornate filigree pattern and marble base is a beautiful addition to this stunning compote. When this piece is in the light the gold just catches the eye. The antique compote measures 8" tall and the cut crystal gold highlighted bowl measures 8 1/2 across x 4 1/2" deep. This is a stunning antique compote.

Antique Sterling & Vaseline Glass Compote Centerpiece
This vaseline glass and sterling compote stands 7 1/2" tall. The glass bowl is 5 1/2" x 8" x 2 3/4" deep. The silver base is in the shape of an inverted shell. Beautifully done as could only be made around the turn of the century. If you look closely at the figure, she is a mermaid wiht what appears to be lions feet? There are no markings that we can find. The glass is nearly perfect with virtually no scratches.

This was made c.1880s by Richards& Hartley of Tarentum. Pennsylvania. Gorgeous brilliant crystal clear glass! If you collect this pattern, don't miss out on this item. We rarely see compotes in this pattern and this one is a beauty in Excellent Condition. The top edge of the bowl has a rim of fans and the pattern beneath the fans is quite striking. Blocks of different sizes continue all around the sides. The center of the bowl has 4 rows of blocks in gradually decreasing size. Giving the bowl a beautiful appearance when viewed from the top. The pedestal base repeats the block design with an open base. This is an antique and does glow yellow under a black light. Antique Boston& Sandwich Flint Glass Compote c.1840 Petal& Loop Pattern Very Early High Resonance Flint Glass DESCRIPTION An unusual base on this bowl! A Boston& Sandwich early flint glass compote in the Petal& Loop Pattern made circa 1840 with a gorgeous silvery luster to the glass. Many Pennsylvania glass companies of a much later period made similar compotes in what they called LOOP- PETAL or TULIP pattern. None have the exact same design or beauty of this honest to goodness Boston& Sandwich Glass piece. The compote has a fiery brilliance. A very silvery apperance to the glass. This was made with a high content of flint giving it a very deep resonant sound when struck, the tone lingers like a bronze bell. In fact, when you just lightly touch this bowl you can hear a faint ring. a remarkable early piece of flint glass! ... moreThe entire design of the bowl is very deeply molded. It has 12 flaring petals that are 1/2" thick and drop down just below the bottom edge of the bowl. The underside of the bowl is quite unusual with it's 6 deep molded circles. The open pedestal base repeats the design of the bowl. This is a very early Boston& Sandwich Flint compote. With it's unusal design to the base of the bowl and the deep joining of the pedestal and bowl. The bowl and the pedestal were made separately and joined together with the typical wafer of molten glass. However on this one the pedestal was pushed well up into the base and you can see were the molten glass of the wafer was pushed out along the edges where the pedestal and bowl meet. Very heavy. This compote weighs more than 4-1/2 lbs. Size: 10-1/4" across x 6-1/4" high x 5" across the base. CONDITION Very Good Condition Expected straw marks from the press and some bubbles. There is some minor wear visable. You can feel a light roughness on the rim edge of a few of the petals and there is one tiny chip on the underside of one petal. Vintage Mid Century~ Beautiful Crystal Compote with Painted Brass Pedestal and Black Marble Base Dish has a diamond shaped pattern with a cut notched edge~ it's so clear and refracts the light so nicely! The pedestal is a antique gold tone and cream color painted brass scroll and tear drop shapes. exquisite! The paint looks like it was done purposely to be a bit distressed. The base is a solid block of black marble with a golden brown grain running through it. I am guessing(although I do not know the exact age) that this piece is from about the 1960s. Antique Bohemian compote with silver base. Beautiful white to clear cut glass decorated with green& blue grape cluster vines. Accented with thick gold trim. The bowl shape is deeply ruffled or wavy with sharp cut edges. Ornate silver weighted base having leafy vines and scrolled corners. Tested to be at least 750 silver grade. Measures about 7.25" tall by 9.75" wide. Considering its age I would say it is in pretty good condition overall. The bowl has a few small chips to the pointed edges. If you look at the very base underside. In the centre, there is a small inclusion/crack in the glass. And another very small one on the very top inside around the metal centre where the bolt goes. There is abit of gummy material on the underside of base in the same area which I believe is there to stabilize it. Both are minor and not noticeable ... moreunless closely inspected. As for the base. It has a few minor dings to the silver. I noticed one small hole in the silver and another small spot where it looks like it has been repaired. Fresh to the market is this wonderful antique piece of EAPG glass from 1885. The pattern is SHERATON also known as IDA and it was produced by Bryce. Higbee& Co. It is getting harder and harder to find these old 100+ year old. Made in the USA glass pieces and this one is in great shape. There are no chips or cracks. There is some minor rough areas on edge which I believe was the way it was created as they are not chips. The bowl contains a straw mark, also indicative of old glass, and there are bubbles in the glass bowl! None of these are defects, just indications of OLD glass and the way it was produced back then. I have for auction a Pressed Glass Compote with a metal base that 7 glass Prisms hang from. It does not appear to have been used much. The crystal bowl is attached to a non magnetic metal foot that has 7 glass prism drops hanging from it. The bowl is pressed glass. I do not see any obvious flaws in the glass but have not gone over it with a magnifying glass. This piece stands 9 1/4 inches tall and is 8 1/4 inches in diameter. It is heavy. ANTIQUE OR VINTAGE MERCURY GLASS COMPOTE WITH HAND PAINTED DESIGNS
This auction is for a vintage mercury glass compote with hand painted leaf and flower designs that measures 5 1/8" high. 5 1/8" across the top and 3 1/4" across the base. The piece is much lighter in weight than the vases that I have listed, so I don't know if this is an indication that it is older or newer. The compote is in fair condition with losses to the mercury finish and paint, but no cracks or chips. There are a few small bubbles in places and what looks to be a manufacturing flaw on the rim(shown in the last photo) There is also a hole in the bottom of the base, but I believe this is common on this type of glass.
