When fervor for antiques of the Louis XV taste were still at a remarkable high, this very attractive French Louis XV Bureau Plat was embellished with great effort. Featuring a solid mahogany top with a molded edge, the front of the bureau plat has a long hand dovetailed drawer for storage, opening to reveal a solid golden oak interior. The keyhole escutcheon is probably the finest bronze mount on the desk, a piece that prominently features the rocaille movement around the fully functioning key and lock. The apron is shapely, the front and back mirroring the flow of the top with a slight inversion in the middle. The cabriole legs are formed with very fine gate, the tapering form nearly perfect in proportion to the table, each surmounted with an intense rocaille Gilt bronze mount with the"C" form featured actively as it curls over the entire knee- a thin reed of gilt bronze continues to flow down the leg into the beautiful Gilt bronze sabot mounts with curling toes. This is a fully functional piece. Not just being a beautiful decorative art, the form being sturdy and strong throughout with a clean writing surface. For decorators passionate about the French Louis XV form, this is a wonderful find. Measurements: 39 1/2" wide x 23 7/8" deep x 29 1/4" high to top of desk; 24 1/8" high to underside of drawer(when sitting) Condition Report: Light dings and chips throughout. Including some loss to the corners of the drawer, a small"dent" in the top and scuffing to the top. Overall very attractive, the typical wear and use abrasions being somewhat limited and the overall desk being quite well preserved. The bronzes are of medium quality with some pitting and cracks from the foundry process- we believe the mounts are unsigned, though only one sabot has been removed and examined. Amazing antique Marshall & Stearns brass-like murphy bed -- full size, ca. 1920
Hi, I have a small house. Built in 1922, that originally had no bedrooms. Instead it had fold-down beds mounted on immense doors- they would fold up and swing into special closets when not in use. When I first moved into the house I got one of these antique beds working, and we used it as a guest bed for a long time. To see a picture of one in action, check out this vintage ad from google books: Well. Now we are converting one of the special closets into an office, and I need to pass this incredible"Marshall& Stearns" brand bed on to someone else. What you get is a solid steel and iron bed(which at some point in the distant past was painted a brass-type color) which fits a full size mattress. It has a folding headboard with a spring mechanism to help you lift it, though the spring is somewhat weaker than it must have been 90 ... moreyears ago. It also has two massive L-brackets which you would bolt into a wall. Or, to make life simpler, you could just set it up as a non-moving bed. You will need to be a little bit handy to get this to work. I have all the parts. And they all fit together and work, but this is a heavy item that needs to be assembled correctly. I did it by following the picture of the folding mechanism in the pictures below. Documentation of these antique beds is hard to find, so the picture of the mechanism is actually form a different brand bed, but it is quite similar to the bed for sale here and can guide your reconstruction. One metal bar(which adjusts the angle of the folding headboard) is broken, but it is a small and non-essential piece that is easily replaceable. This bed is available for local pickup only. Rare Vintage Iron Hospital Baby Crib Bed from Mercy Hospital, Authentic Old Crib
This is an extremely rare real(not a reproduction) vintage hospital baby crib or bassinet. It measures approximately 32 inches long by 18-1/2 inches wide by 35-1/2 inches tall. The removable basket which holds the mattresses measures approximately 29 inches long by 15 inches wide by 12 inches high. When the basket is in the crib. It adds another inch to the total height of the crib, making it 36-1/2 inches tall. There are two original mattresses which have the original tags and they are stamped Mercy Hospital Assn. The mattresses are age discolored and somewhat stained and are not sanitary for use with a baby and would need to be replaced or at the very least sealed in a heavy sanitary cover. The bed has been repainted with enamel paint but is otherwise completely original. Underneath the paint, the bed is chrome. FRENCH STYLE CANOPY OR FULL TESTER BED FULL SIZE
This is a very nice French style canopy or tester bed circa 1940. The finish is dark and looks like mahagonny wood but I can't be 100% positive. It may be walnut. The grain is tight like mahogany but the finish is brownish. The head board and foot board has the canopy part attached. The side portions of the canopy attach the same as the side rails of the bed with the hooks. The overall size of the bed measures 87 1/4" long. 64" wide, and 81" tall. The mattress portion measures 83" long and 62" wide. The canopy has a nice scalloped detail and the feet have a cabriole appearance. The bed has the original finish and could be cleaned to preserve the aged patina. It is a very attractive bed for a home with 8" ceilings. Deal of the month- Check out this Mid Century Art Deco 4 Poster Bedroom Suite. The bed is a rare waterfall 4 Poster full size bed. The headboard and footboard are original but I think the steel rails replaced wooded one that probably came with the original set. This set has the chest of drawers and vanity with all matching pulls with bakelight accents. Some of the bakelite edges are scuffed or chipped. For its age this set is in remarkable condition. Some chips on the edges and below normal wear and tear. The vanity has three mirrors on the back that are beveled and etched. Only a few minor blemishes. There is burled wood along much of the trim work. The extreme detail put into this design is amazing. The mirrors have fabulous etched glass on them and the dresser and vanity have gold mirrored glass below them as well. There is NOT one thing that isn't UNBELIEVABLE about this set including the price for such quality! The hardware is all original and is celluloid. The foot board has had some repair work done to it but it isn't anything a quilt or blanket throw wouldn't hide if need be. There is normal wear and tear that should be expected with furniture of this age. But in my opinion it adds character to it! Please note. Willett Cherry Rope Bedroom Suite
These pieces of American History is 5 of the Cherry Rope Motif Bedroom set made by the Willett Brothers of Kentucky. They stopped making this great furniture in the early 60s. I am sadly selling these to hopefully someone who appreciates where they came from. The night stand was not available for the first pictures.

Common Cast Iron Vintage Pin Type Drop In Bed Rails
You are bidding on a set of cast iron pin type bed rails used generally with brass or brass& iron beds made from around 1880 to close to the 1920's. These rails are in very good condition. They have been sanded and painted with a light coat of white paint to keep them from rusting. Dimensions: total length 74 inches from end to end counting the pin, 72 inches not counting the pin, 1 inch diameter of top of pin, 5/8 inch diameter of bottom pin, total length of pin approximately 2 inches in length. I bought these to fit my daughters antique bed but they did not fit.

Depression Era Full Size Bed Walnut Inlay
This is in very good condition for its age. There are some minor scratches and on the inside of one corner there is a small repair. A piece has been glued. This does not hurt the integrity of the bed and if a person wanted to it could be redone in a nicer fashion.

Antique cannonball bed.I don't know exactly how old it is. Only i am sure it can be classified as as antique, whether it is 19th century or 20th century.It has pins, and hooks to support a box springs and mattress. with a width of(47 1/2 inches) or to set on the bed rails which would expand to(width of 54 1/2 inches) And a length of 71 inches. It has pins that line the bed rails, i don't know why, as i don't know much about cannonball beds. Wood appears mahogany, with signs of wear, but no serious damage. It is quite heavy.
