The woodwork and carving on this chair is in great condition, particularly considering its age. I am unsure of its exact age, but these types of chairs were made primarily between the mid to late 19th Century. The chair has a sleigh back curve at the top, and gorgeous carved details in the wood.

The wood pegs on the bottom are about 5/8 inches wide, and one is a little longer than the other. They are not perfect but absolutely beautiful and very hard to find a nice matching pair like this. I had bought these from a gentleman who had a lot of wonderful architectural salvage items in his inventory and he told me that one of them had been cracked near the bottom and he said that he had carefully repaired it with JB Weld and reinforced it with several small metal pins and you have to look to find the repair and probably stronger than original.

Slats are 7 1/2" wide, 5/8" thick. Will accept a standard twin size(39" x 75" mattress. DESCRIPTION Vintage Gustav Stickley twin size bed. Four wide slats at each end supported by reverse tapered posts. Arched top rails. Solid quarter sawn oak with pegged construction. Unsigned. Guaranteed original Gustav Stickley. Ca. 1910 or ... moreso. This bed is similar to model#923 but with four slats instead of three. CONDITION Very good condition. Original finish. Minor scuffs/scratches from normal use. Minor spots of white paint. Small chip at the top right post of headboard. Side rails have metal supports at each end that fit into head/foot board. For some unknown reason part of this metal support is broke/missing. Rails still connect fine and the bed is quite sturdy. See several(99) detailed photos. No reserve.
