Antique Youth Bed c.1930 Appraised Maple Ship Nautical Side Rails Child Toddler
Maple youth bed c.1930 via appraiser. This bed has been in my family for 3 generations. Appraised in December 2000 at $1.000. Copy of appraisal can be included if desired. Very good condition considering age however it is in used condition. Some of the top layer of the ship/trim(see close up of headboard) detail on the headboard has chipped off over time. But the design is still clear and attractive because it is just the top thin layer of carving. Bed can be used with or witout the bedrails/sides which go half way down the bed to prevent falling out. Since this is a youth bed it requires larger than a crib mattress but smaller than a twin. We had a new mattress made in 2000. FREE with the bed if you would like it. It is in very good shape with one flaw being a metal rod from inside the mattress is poking out the side. This is likely an easy ... morefix but we never had it done as it is only a concern when putting sheets on the bed not when sleeping on it. This is a vintage/antique Maple Full Side Bed. It consist of the headboard. Footboard and two side boards. It is a very simple design in a light finish. This bed was used in our summer home and was stored since the late 80's. The bed will require a little re-enforcing on the headboard, as it appears to need it. It can get used as is or refinished to give it new life. It may have had slats that went across the side boards to support the mattress, but I'm not 100% sure(I can't remember) however, those slats are not present, so if needed you will have to get wood and cut to fit. Bed frame has one wheel missing but there are plenty to be gotten right here on Ebay. IMPORTANT: I was told when we purchased it. That the bed frame was for a 3/4 mattress, which I was told was popular at the time this set was made. Please use your search engine to see that these mattresses are still available. I would take measurements if I could, but where the bed is stored right now is to small for me to set it up. Antique Baby Crib Brown Maple Jenny Lind Infant Bed Cradle Vintage Display ONLY
This is the real deal! Antique. One-family owner, original 1941 Jenny Lind style baby crib in Maple. This crib was bought new in Tennessee in 1941; possibly constructed in North Carolina. This crib was refinished in the early 1970's and has a beautiful finish. The bed was custom made in in the early 1970's. And was only used a few times- still looks in great condition. The front gate locks up with a steel swing bar. And can drop straight down along guide rods. The front gate should also be able to pivot, if desired. There are a few blemishes. I have indicated these in the last pictures. I would prefer to do local pick up or delivery in the Atlanta area. But could discuss shipping. Because this is an antique crib. It is to only be used for display purposes, and not for actual use with an infant.
