These beds are ready to be ... moreused. MEASUREMENTS: The beds are 80 inches long 42 inches wide at the headboard and 40 inches wide at the footboard. The headboard is 64 inches tall including the crown the footboard is 30 inches tall. The mattresses are 73.5 inches long and 34.5 inches wide. LET’S TALK CONDITION: Excellent condition for the age. Much better than what is typically found beds of this type and era, ready to use very clean and with a wonderful patina to the wood. With the original slats, no replacement wood no discoloration no significant or structural damage. The head side of the rails on each bed have a missing part of the decorative designee and the other rail with one intact and one repaired(see the third photo) One of the footboards has chips on the base of the columns(see last photo) and this footboard also has some loose joints giving it some slight pay, less than typical for antique bedframes. The paint is flaking(see photos) and there is some surface rust, though this is nothing that will affect the display quality or functionality of the bed itself. At some point in its long history. We have assembled it for show on several occasions, and all the parts fit perfectly and without the use of bolts or screws(again see photos) This, combined with the attached metal wheels, makes it easy to move around and store as well. This R-Way twin mahogany bedroom set is amazing. It was made in the 1930 in Sheboygan. Wisconsin. It has two twin beds headboard and footboard, and wood rails. The headboards is 46 in tall and footboards is 29 in tall. The high boy dresser is 55 in H x 36 in L x 19 in D. The long boy dresser with mirror is 35 in H x 65 in L x 21 in D, the mirror is 36 in H x 50 in L. There is two night stands that are very amazing. All of the pieces has the original glass on top, to protect the top of the two dressers and the two night stands. The set also includes a set of very nice mattress sets, and box springs All of the pieces are in very good condition. They do not make them like this any more, very sturdy, and solid. It was perfect for me as a young girl then served as a lovely bedroom set for my guest bedroom. I have since downsized and no longer have space for it. But we had the good fortune of finding one with two twin-size matching beds. The set consists of two outlandish and heavily overcarved, oversized wall mirrors, a one-drawer night stand, a ladies vanity/writing desk, a most unusual drawer configuration on a six-drawer chest, and a lovely tall six-drawer chest, and the rarest part, the twin matching beds. All of the cabinet pieces have had the tops re-sprayed to bring out the gorgeous grains. I thought long and hard about breaking this set up, because these beds would bring premium money. They are gorgeous, with the curved footboards, bold headboards, ball and claw feet, and carvings all around the footboard, headboard, and every place. After considering the high quality of the dressers and other pieces, I decided to keep it together and sell it as a set. It has a very heavy ball and claw carved column six-dovetail-drawer picture frame molded chest that retains all its original hardware, with bow front drawers. This is my great grandfathers and grandmothers bedroom set. It is from the late 20s. The dresser and vanity are in nice shape. There is a tiny bit of trim missing from the top right corner of the vanity. You can see it in the pictures. The full size bed holds a queen size mattress. As I show in my pictures. There is some water damage to the left front footboard, as you can see in the pictures, the veneer is lifting off a bit. A good wood person could repair this. There you go. ANTIQUE BEDROOM SET 1926 SEASHELL PATTERN BARKER BROTHERS OF LOS ANGELES This bedroom set has been in our family since 1926 when my mother and her adoptive parents arrived in Los Angeles. They were fleeing the law who wanted to take my mother away and nullify her adoption and give her to another relative. An Ohio State Representative and his wife, to raise along with her sister they already had adopted. Grandma and Grandpa slept on these beds in separate bedrooms. They became mine when my Grandma died. I used one to sleep in and refinished that back in the 1970’s. When mom and dad came to live with us we put these beds up for them but they were too big for the bedroom in our small cottage. Also. The little poodle doggie we adopted for them was chewing on the footboards newels. I could not tolerate that so I took them down. The set does need ... morerefinishing and the newels need sanded and stained. It will look good when redone. The one bed I did is pictured leaning up against the old barn. They have been stored in a brand new storage shed and before that under our bed in the bedroom. Notice the wooden wheels are still on the dresser on all four feet. I have the original side boards but had new cross boards made. It would be a nice addition to an old hotel being refinished to its original condition. Or, in a bed and breakfast home. They need to be taken good care of and appreciated and not abused. I am not sure of what style to call them. I don't know if they are Arts and Crafts, Art Deco, Hollywood Revival or what else to call them. They were purchased in Hollywood at the Barker Brother's Store there. At that time that was a big furniture store in L.A. They were famous for their mattresses. My Grandpa Reynolds worked for Barker Brothers in the mattress making department. It is hard to believe that very soon they will be 100 years old. That makes them 86 years old now. They do need lots of tender loving care. 1920s era bedroom set consisting of a twin bed, highboy and dresser.
The bedroom set consists of one twin bed. A highboy and a dresser. The tops are solid mahogany with veneer sides. Based on family history, manufactured in the 1920s by a local firm in Central New Jersey. There is some top scratching from moving damage, but the scratches only damaged the finish. The underlying wood is intact(pictures emailed on request) The bed comes complete with a box spring, if desired. I am setting a reserve price of $200.00 based on dealer estimate.
