This is my great grandfathers and grandmothers bedroom set. It is from the late 20s. The dresser and vanity are in nice shape. There is a tiny bit of trim missing from the top right corner of the vanity. You can see it in the pictures. The full size bed holds a queen size mattress. As I show in my pictures. There is some water damage to the left front footboard, as you can see in the pictures, the veneer is lifting off a bit. A good wood person could repair this. There you go. I am calling this French deco for style and age. But this furniture is unsigned and I believe the work of a custom cabinet maker. I believe it was made in the 1930s. The set consists of a single bed(that's what you call a twin when you only have one) and a 4 drawer tall chest. This much inlay work of this quality today would cost well over $10,000, so no whining about the price. Be sure to notice the funky drawer pulls. The inlay work is on all 3 sides of the case pieces and just check out the finials on the bed posts. As mentioned above, the spoon feet look like they have been reglued if you look closely, but no parts were changed or replaced. Still all original, just put back together. Everything else is excellent. I just can't say enough about this beautiful well crafted furniture. You will not find another set like it. It does have bed side rails but the vaneer is peeled badly so I did not bother taking a photo.They fit perfectly with the head& foot boards and I assume any bedding would cover these rails or you can peel off the remaining vaneer and paint them.All of these pieces are on small casters/wheels. It's painted black; not sure how long that paint has been on. But there are some rusted spots over the paint so it's been on for quite a while, if not original. The rails slip into the end board pieces and it's very easy to put together. It may take a few taps with a hammer to get it in all the way. One of the sides has a small chunk out of the piece that the rail slips into, but once it's in there, it stays in place. It would be an easy repair. Antique full/ double size brass bed- very heavy and solid. The headboard weighs 34 lbs and the footboard weighs 33 lbs. The rounded. Outside pieces of the frame are 1 1/2" square. Dimensions: 54" wide. 81" long. I purchased this in the 1970's at a flea market in New Hampshire. I am not certain of it's age. But it has an Art Deco or Art Nouveau look. It is complete with the side rails. I have never cleaned or polished it, so it has it's original patina. Antique waterfall deco bedroom set w/ armoire, vanity, bed, dresser, and chairs
Included in this set is a full size bed with headboard and footboard and sideboards and slats; a vanity with mirror and 2 drawers on each side and a glass shelf(intact) 3(deep) drawer dresser with mirror; large armoire with 4 drawers and a cedar-lined closet section. And 2 chairs- one with arms and one without. This is a solid and beautiful set purchased in the 30's by my grandparents. This set has been used and shows signs of normal use and wear. Main items to note: there are some scratches on the tops of the pieces. On the dresser there is an area of chips on one of the drawers(the bottom drawer of the dresser sticks a bit which caused it to rub the drawer above it) one of the handles on the armoire's drawers is broken, and one of the legs with casters on the underside of the armoire needs to be reattached.
